Chapter 230 | Survival for All: The Tower Witch with E-Rank Talent

Thud! Thud!

One bottle after another of Explosion Potions was dropped into the sea by Lan Qingyou. They didn't explode immediately, but instead slowly sank into the depths.

Click!

About half a minute later, Lan Qingyou, hovering high in the sky, gave a cool sneer and snapped her fingers with flair.

Boom!

A series of muffled thuds echoed from beneath the sea, followed by pillars of water that shot straight into the sky.

The water columns were so massive that they nearly soaked Lan Qingyou’s down jacket even as she hovered in the air.

“Oh boy!”

Surprised that the power could reach such a level, Lan Qingyou quickly dodged the spray while wiping away a non-existent cold sweat from her forehead.

However, at that moment, a massive boom shook the area, and a pillar of water even larger than the previous ones erupted from the sea.

Even the slowest person would realize that this was the cue for whatever had been sealed to appear.

Lan Qingyou immediately flew directly above the water column, wanting to get a good look at exactly what kind of monster was sniping at them.

However, when she reached the top of the water column, what she saw was... an eyeball covered in seaweed?

That was exactly it.

It was an eyeball with a white and a pupil, surrounded by a ragged ring of seaweed, kelp, and other algae.

By Lan Qingyou's estimation, the eyeball was about a hundred meters large.

Hanging beneath the eyeball, due to gravity, were many more strands of algae, along with some small fish and shrimp tangled within them.

It didn't look particularly terrifying; in fact, Lan Qingyou found it a bit comical.

But she didn't let her guard down because of that.

【Ksuya's Eye (SS)】

【Health: 6150】

【Mana: 8480】

【Skills: (Fear Ray), (Chaos Ray), (Desire Ray), (Undying)】

【Description: This is a dismembered eyeball of Ksuya. Though it is only one, do not underestimate it, for doing so will only lead you to despair.】

Tsk, tsk.

The first time seeing an SS-grade monster.

This eyeball was SS-grade, and it was just a single part. It required two top-tier magic tools, the World Tree Boat and the Sunlight Stone, just to seal it. One could only imagine what level the monster named 'Ksuya' must be.

But Desire Ray, huh...

Combining that with the Hierophant's previous crazed words, it wasn't hard to see that he had been hit by this move.

If the Hierophant, with his triple-digit spirit attribute boosted by items, couldn't resist it, she probably wouldn't fare much better.

But then again...

It wasn't as if she had to face it head-on, right?

Didn't the Black Witch Smoke skill perfectly counter this?

So, the moment she saw the enemy's skills, Lan Qingyou activated Black Witch Smoke without a second thought.

Almost the instant she turned it on, several powerful rays of light shot out from the giant eyeball. Some went off into the distance, while others were aimed directly at her.

Poof! Poof! Poof!

A series of sounds, like muffled farts, echoed in Lan Qingyou’s ears.

Then, the rays of light simply vanished.

The entire process was so fast that Lan Qingyou barely had time to react.

As expected, it was a perfect counter. It seemed she had really pulled a practical skill.

No.

Now wasn't the time for that. She needed to get back and see if the ship was alright.

In high spirits, Lan Qingyou threw a large Frost Potion at the creature, then raced back to the ship in third gear under the light of the stars.

Ksuya's Eye was frozen on the spot, unable to even make a sound.

“Are you guys okay?”

Lan Qingyou breathed a sigh of relief when she returned and saw that everyone on the ship was fine.

“We're fine. That giant eyeball shot a few beams of light at us just now, but they were all blocked by the ship's shield,” Wheel of Fortune explained as everyone who was still standing gathered around her.

Although Lan Qingyou was currently surrounded by a cloud of sparkling starlight like something out of a fairy tale, the gray mist was thin enough while she was moving that they could easily recognize her.

“This ship probably has this kind of protection to prevent that eye from destroying it all this time, right?”

Lan Qingyou understood.

With so many magic circuits on the ship, having a protective shield seemed perfectly normal.

“Who knows? Tell us what you found out on your end first.”

“Alright.”

Lan Qingyou nodded and shared the intelligence she had gathered.

“Although it's huge, its attack methods seem to be exclusively mental-type. Also...”

“Also?”

“That eye is a part of a monster that was dismembered and sealed here. Its rating is SS-grade. It has three long-range ray skills. It probably ran off after attacking the Hierophant in the shallows earlier.”

After dispelling the smoke, Lan Qingyou relayed the information she had scouted to everyone.

“Holy crap! Is this some kind of Chiyou? They’re even doing the whole body-part-sealing thing.”

“Isn't the real point that a single eyeball can be rated SS-grade by the world consciousness?”

“No, no, no. It hit and ran. That alone proves it lacks confidence in itself, or maybe it was just scared off by someone’s terrifying aura?”

“I don't think so. Confidence aside, it wouldn't be scared off. There must have been many talents in the world of Kalim with much higher levels and experience than us before. If it could be scared off by a few pipsqueaks like us, there would have been no need to seal it.”

Seeing the researchers having the leisure to analyze this even with a major enemy present, Lan Qingyou felt the veins on her forehead throb.

Good grief, shouldn't you discuss this kind of topic later?

You're completely ruining the tense atmosphere, don't you know!

So, Lan Qingyou could only give a reminder.

“While your enthusiasm is high, I'm sorry to inform you that it also has a skill called Undying. That means it can't be killed.”

“What! There's such a thing?”

“Undying... that's the first time I've heard of such a skill.”

“So what do we do?”

The group asked Lan Qingyou, feeling quite speechless, while she just shrugged helplessly.

“I don't have a good solution for this either.”

After all, she was also an ageless and immortal being; in a way, her state was similar to the enemy's.

Under these circumstances, she hadn't even thought about how to deal with an 'Undying' enemy.

“Undying, huh? Can't be killed. That sounds a bit tricky,” Magician frowned.

“However, I have actually considered this before.”

“You mean dealing with someone who has an Undying skill?” Lan Qingyou was taken aback.

“Yes. Since things are already this magical, it's not impossible for things like agelessness or immortality to appear. If we didn't have a contingency plan, wouldn't we be caught helpless?”
