Chapter 245 | Survival for All: The Tower Witch with E-Rank Talent

The people looking at the messages couldn't believe their eyes no matter how many times they read them.

A magic circle could repel the mana tide?

If that was the case, didn't it mean it could even repel mana turbulence?

Wouldn't that mean the ten days of mandatory rest each month could be used for other things?

Although there was still a range limit, and threats like the mana tide still existed once you stepped outside that range, at least they could leave their houses.

If nothing else, just being able to stroll around the vicinity would be great.

“It should be. At least it looks like the same shade of purple as that magic circle that appeared in the sky earlier.”

After all, not everyone had researched magic circles.

Most people didn't even possess the most basic knowledge of semiotics. In such a situation, just being able to remember the color was, in a way, quite an achievement.

“Holy crap! No harassment from the mana tide? Doesn't that mean the shelter's energy won't even be consumed?”

“It's gone. Right now, my shield is actually recovering its energy points.”

“Hahahaha, the feeling of being able to keep working even during the mana tide is simply fantastic.”

A certain person with an innate overtime body bragged after returning from a walk outside.

It couldn't be helped.

A five-kilometer radius wasn't exactly huge, but it wasn't small either; it was roughly the size of the main district of a small city.

Under these circumstances, it was impossible not to have 'neighbors' who were now enclosed within the circle.

“Since you guys are inside the magic circle, doesn't that mean you can go straight to the Witch?”

“What! Does that mean there's a chance to get a Witch potion?”

“I'm moving in! Does anyone know where the Witch's shelter is?”

“Brave soul! It's right there in the Abandoned Forest, where the five tall giant trees are—that's where the Witch lives.”

“Good, take me there! I'm going to crusade against this Witch!”

“Go ahead, go ahead. Your bravery is worth me collecting your corpse later.”

“Damn it! Can't you say something nice?”

“The Witch of the Tower gives out Witch potions on the world channel from time to time. If you just show up at her door and ask, she might give you one directly.”

“Block the Witch's front door? Do you take me for a fool?”

“Stop talking! The Witch is giving out Witch potions on the world channel again! Quick, go participate and lower everyone else's winning rate!”

“Whoo-hoo! I'm on my way!”

Indeed.

While the regional channel was busy discussing her, she had—contrary to everyone's expectations—started a random giveaway event on the world channel.

By now, Lan Qingyou's irregular giveaway events had become a rare and beautiful sight on the world channel.

Whenever she appeared, the world channel would fall into a message frequency that resembled an ECG monitor.

One moment, a swarm of people would be messaging; the next, everyone would suddenly stop.

In the words of these guys, they were trying to lower everyone else's winning rate.

After all, if they couldn't get it themselves, they at least wanted to make sure no one else did.

Lan Qingyou, however, felt that this was entirely unnecessary.

This wasn't a matter of probability at all; it was purely based on her mood. In other words, this was actually a matter of psychology.

Today, there were still five spots.

However, this time, what she gave to the winners was slightly different.

Along with the Witch potion traded to them, Lan Qingyou included a piece of monster hide inscribed with a Familiar Contract magic circle and an instruction manual.

Consider it a welcoming gift for the new witches under her lineage.

After all, having an extra familiar always meant an extra bit of combat power.

She even sent a copy to the witches she had previously traded with who didn't have the Familiar Contract magic circle, making sure to treat everyone equally.

Although Lan Qingyou had initially treated this as a pastime...

Once she learned that the High Priestess's side had already mass-produced over ten thousand vampires, she suddenly felt that she couldn't just keep going on like this.

She couldn't quite put a finger on the feeling.

To call it a sense of crisis would be an exaggeration.

To call it a desire to win would be going too far.

In fact, it wasn't just Lan Qingyou; the other 'patriarchs' in the villa felt the same way.

Whether it was for self-protection, for fun, or simply out of a desire to expand their race's numbers, everyone was taking action.

Since Lan Qingyou had her own source of blood, she theoretically didn't need to be as rushed as the others.

But on the contrary...

Lan Qingyou was more anxious than anyone.

Making one drop of blood do the work of two was a specialized skill that she certainly didn't have, nor did she plan to try.

After all, potions required very precise measurements.

And as an alchemist, she couldn't bring herself to do something like 'it's fine if there's a little bit less.'

“Since I'm already giving them out, why not just turn it into a business?”

Lan Qingyou thought as she looked at the pile of monster hides inscribed with Familiar Contract magic circles on her desk.

Since it increases combat power, she believed many people would be willing to buy them, especially those lone wolves who liked keeping pets.

Although Lan Qingyou didn't lack money and wasn't particularly interested in it...

Who would ever complain about having too much?

The Tower: “@Justice, I have a batch of Familiar Contract magic circles here. Do you want them?”

Justice: “Yes. Send them over. I'll send the payment for the goods along with this week's materials. Do you want currency or materials?”

The Tower: “Currency. I'm not that interested, but I should probably save some up.”

Justice: “Understood.”

The Supreme Council had basically finalized the details regarding the currency, but because they were worried they wouldn't have enough, they were currently stepping up production.

Furthermore, the Magician's teleportation circles weren't finished yet.

So, they had yet to make an official announcement.

After all, this was a major move.

The Supreme Council wanted to wait until everything was perfectly prepared before going public, so that the news could hit one after another for maximum effect.

To put it bluntly, they wanted to further expand the Supreme Council's influence.

Even if this Supreme Council was just a seemingly massive organization cobbled together by individual council members.

However, because the barriers had vanished, there were no longer any restrictions on teleportation or communication between regions.

This had indeed allowed the Supreme Council's reach to extend to more places.

But this meant Lan Qingyou was suffering.

Before, only people in her region were sending her private messages; now, people from all over the world could.

So, she simply enabled Do Not Disturb mode, making it so that no one except her friends could message her.

But she only had a few friends, and they all happened to be in the Tarot Villa anyway. Essentially, a single card could handle everything, so her life wasn't much different from before.
