Chapter 251 | Survival for All: The Tower Witch with E-Rank Talent

“Thank you so much!”

Susie bowed deeply to Lan Qingyou after receiving the empty bottle.

Though the bottle was empty, there were actually two or three drops of unconsumed potion left at the bottom. These drops were exactly what Susie was after.

While she could have asked Lan Qingyou for the recipe of the talent ascension potion, doing so would have meant she ‘lost’ in her capacity as a scholar and a fellow witch.

Having been a university lecturer before the crossing, she naturally didn't want to surrender directly when the playing field was level.

This wasn't just true for Susie; the other three witches of the Golden Plains felt the same way.

In fact, it was likely that any witch with even a modicum of self-confidence would not simply ask another for a recipe.

In that regard, Lan Qingyou was perhaps the one who cared the least about such etiquette... after all, she was a being who could see recipes directly.

However, since Susie hadn't asked for the recipe, Lan Qingyou wasn't about to be tactless and force it upon her.

While doing so might seem efficient, it was a move that could seriously wound one's pride. At the very least, Lan Qingyou herself wouldn't accept a recipe from someone else that way.

Of course, the things she saw with her own eyes were an exception.

Besides, while the recipe for each grade of a talent ascension potion could be fixed, there was one thing that could never be standardized.

“By the way, if you intend to research talent ascension potions, I can give you a small piece of advice,” Lan Qingyou said.

Since the other party wanted to challenge herself, Lan Qingyou, as the Clan Leader, wouldn't be vague. There were things she could share.

“Please... go ahead.”

While she wouldn't take a recipe, Susie could accept a tiny bit of advice. One’s bottom line could always be a little flexible.

“There is one most important ingredient in a talent ascension potion.”

“What is it?” Susie’s ears perked up.

“The blood of the creator themselves.”

As she spoke, Lan Qingyou flew outward, leaving Susie stunned in place.

The blood of the creator? Right! Why didn't I think of that?

Isn't talent something unique to every individual? Since everyone's talent is different, how do you distinguish and enhance a specific person's talent? Blood is the perfect medium! More rigorously, it could be seen as each person's unique genetic code!

As expected of an Origin Witch—what a genius idea.

While Susie was filled with newfound admiration, Lan Qingyou was slowly flying through the air inside the Adventurers' Guild. As she flew, she checked her personal profile.

【Talent: Drift (B)】

①: Can reduce own body weight to achieve a floating effect.

②: Can reduce the weight of objects to achieve a floating effect.

③: Object weight must not exceed one hundred times own weight.

④: Consumes 1 mana point per minute.

Heh...

Looking at the description of her new talent, Lan Qingyou couldn't help but want to laugh. If she remembered correctly, the previous rank allowed for ten times her own weight. Now, a single rank-up had increased it to a hundred times.

Just as she had guessed, each level added another zero. At A-grade, it should be a thousand times, and at S-grade, ten thousand times.

If it kept improving like this, wouldn't that mean she could eventually fly high and drop massive boulders like a ‘Meteor Fall’? The mere thought of it was a little exciting.

“Phew... she's finally gone.”

When Lan Qingyou sat on her Magic Broom and followed Susie out of the Adventurers' Guild, the people who had been too intimidated to speak as she floated out of the office finally managed to catch their breath.

“That was terrifying.”

“No kidding.”

“You guys didn't see it, but when that witch was in the air, she looked down on us with those blood-red eyes like we were cockroaches.”

“Damn it! I’ve never been humiliated like that in my life. No way, I’ve gotta get some payback.”

“Alright, alright, that's enough talk. If you’re so tough, why didn't you say a word while the Witch of the Tower was here? Now that she’s gone, you’re shouting louder than anyone.”

“Exactly. You want to pick a fight with the Witch of the Tower? Do you even dare to face the Witch of Poison?”

“The graves outside the safe zone are already growing grass. I don't want to die yet.”

The man who had just been blustering about payback thought it over and then sat back down in his chair quite submissively, drinking his bitter liquor alone.

Seeing this, the others didn't say anything more. They raised their glasses and started on new topics. People's ability to adapt was truly remarkable.

It had only been a few days since the Supreme Council's announcement, but people already seemed accustomed to living within the one-kilometer safe zone of the Adventurers' Guild.

Whether drinking in the tavern or shopping in the commercial district, as long as they were in the safe zone, they didn't need to worry about what happened outside.

Mana turbulence? Mana tides? Or the monsters roaming the night? These things held no more fear for them now.

Revelry! Unbridled revelry! Level up! Level up like crazy! As long as they weren't dead, they pushed themselves to the limit. This was the most common and widespread mindset among the current transmigrators.

If the ‘experts’ from the old Blue Star were to evaluate this, they would surely slap a label like ‘hedonism’ on it.

Fortunately, many of those experts had died after crossing to this world. Perhaps fewer than one in ten remained. In any case, one rarely saw those idiotic experts on the world channel anymore—the ones who would say things like ‘if you don't have money, you can just rent out your idle houses to earn some.’

Meanwhile, Lan Qingyou flew through the air over the Golden Plains, led by Susie.

It had to be said that the Golden Plains was a wonderful place. The endless plains were covered in shimmering golden weeds. If this were used for agriculture or animal husbandry, the harvest of grain, vegetables, and meat would be immense.

“Susie, you’re moving a bit slowly,” Lan Qingyou complained slightly about Susie, who could only walk on the ground.

“If everyone could fly like you, I believe the demand for teleportation circles would drop by at least a tenth,” Susie replied, not taking the complaint to heart.

Even though the other party was an Origin Witch with a rather peculiar way of thinking, after a brief interaction, Susie could feel that inside this seemingly cold witch lived nothing more than a young girl.
