Thud! Thud!
Huang Xingming and Huang Wei slammed onto the debris-covered ground as Lan Qingyou withdrew her hand.
With two crisp cracking sounds, the ice covering them shattered.
After all, the frost from a Frost Potion only froze a person for a few seconds; it wasn't enough to turn someone into a solid block of ice.
Even the enhanced version Lan Qingyou had used couldn't achieve that.
At most, it lasted longer and could freeze some "scraps" into popsicles.
By scraps, that meant the vulnerable parts—fingers, toes, ears, and noses.
“Aaaahhh! My ears! My fingers!”
“Damn you, bitch! Who are you?! Why are you doing this to us?!”
Indeed.
Both Huang Xingming and Huang Wei had instantly lost those "scraps" due to Lan Qingyou's rough handling just now.
“What the hell are you howling for? It doesn't even hurt!”
Lan Qingyou curled her lip and shouted at the father and son.
It didn't hurt.
That was true.
Because the wounds were caused by frostbite, the nerves were frozen solid. There was no pain sensation at all.
So, Lan Qingyou's claim that it "didn't hurt" was perfectly accurate.
But they had been crippled, after all. Not even letting them scream was a bit overbearing—but Susie liked it.
Susie, watching the scene from the side, silently gave Lan Qingyou, her little Clan Leader, a thumbs-up.
However, before she could finish her silent praise, a metaphorical pot was thrown her way.
“Susie! It's you again!”
Huang Xingming, who didn't recognize Lan Qingyou, turned and roared at Susie, whom he knew well.
After all, this woman had previously caused his company in this other world to go bankrupt.
And now she had brought someone to smash his shelter?
Huang Xingming was on the verge of madness.
This was too much!
It hadn't been easy to start from scratch and build a large company that could function in a magical world.
He could accept it being taken down by a few witches once, but now that he had finally found a new channel, she was back?
“What kind of grudge do you witches have against me?! Why do you have to do this to us? Is it materials?! Resources?! If you want them, just say so!”
“Huh?!”
Susie, who had been prepared to enjoy the show, never expected to be caught in the crossfire. She was momentarily stunned.
“This has nothing to do with me. This witch here has business with you; her way of knocking on the door was just a bit... extreme.”
Susie shrugged in response to his accusations. She wasn't going to humor this guy.
In fact, while they were "acquaintances," it wasn't in a good way.
Their relationship was one defined by constant conflict.
“This witch?”
With Susie’s reminder, Huang Xingming finally recovered from his extreme rage and looked at Lan Qingyou.
This person... what did she say just now?
She seemed to know him.
“You are...”
Huang Xingming frowned slightly and looked at his son, Huang Wei.
Huang Wei shook his head.
If she knew them and used such a violent method to "invite" them out of their shelter, then she was likely here for revenge.
But... for their family to have grown into a consortium, they had certainly offended many people.
To put it bluntly, they had done plenty of wicked things.
So, he couldn't immediately recall who this girl was—the one sitting on a broom, flying in the air, and wearing classic witch attire.
“It seems Chairman Huang has forgotten who I am. Well, it can't be helped. It has been several years, after all. Since that's the case, let's set that matter aside for now.”
Lan Qingyou, knowing exactly what kind of people these two were, naturally didn't expect them to remember her.
After all, she was just one of the many victims in their long history of crimes.
So, rather than her own matters, her curiosity was now focused on something else.
They couldn't run away anyway. Revenge could be taken slowly; there was no rush.
“So, can you tell me who these people are?”
Lan Qingyou floated in front of Huang Xingming, pulled out a Frost Potion, and slowly poured it over his forearm.
Huang Xingming, who had lost his toes and could barely stand, could only watch helplessly as his arm was frozen.
“Who the hell are you?! Why are you being so vicious to us?!”
Fear completely occupied Huang Xingming’s mind.
Even though he couldn't feel a shred of pain due to the freezing, perhaps it was this "silent interrogation"—where he couldn't even experience pain—that made him feel even greater terror.
Crack!
Lan Qingyou had originally intended to torture him slowly, both physically and mentally.
In fact, she was already doing so.
But his mouth was too foul, so he needed a small lesson.
Lan Qingyou reached out and snapped off the frozen forearm.
“Aaaaaahhh!”
There was no pain, but watching his own arm being plucked off as if it weren't even his own... it was something no one could easily accept.
A scream was only natural.
However, Susie and the other bystanders—who had thawed out but were unable to move due to missing "parts"—couldn't help but twitch at the sight.
They say a quick death is a mercy, but Lan Qingyou’s method of torture made them shudder just thinking about it.
Susie was fine; she was just there for the spectacle.
But for those who couldn't even move, let alone run, it was agonizing.
Lan Qingyou’s words just now had basically stated she was here for them.
Unfortunately, they truly had secret identities they couldn't reveal.
So... should they commit suicide to keep the secret?
Don't be ridiculous.
Anyone who had survived for half a year in Kalim—a literal "demon's den" where even the air was filled with mana—valued their life above all else.
It seemed lying was their only option; otherwise, they wouldn't escape today.
However, as if seeing through the thoughts of these clowns, Susie, who was standing aside watching the drama, spoke up.
“By the way, I forgot to introduce her to everyone. This witch is none other than the famous Witch of the Tower. She is the founder and Clan Leader of our Witch race—the Origin Witch, Lan Qingyou. I believe you all should recognize her, more or less.”
Hiss—
The Witch of the Tower?!
Those four words were enough to make the pupils of everyone present contract in fear.
Furthermore, the fact that the Witch of the Tower was likely here for them made them even more worried.
One had to know that the Witch of the Tower was a unique existence among the entire transmigrator community.
Setting everything else aside, in terms of fame alone, those who came after her were a level or two below the Witch of the Tower.
Coupled with the fact that the word "witch" might naturally carry certain stereotypes, everyone assumed that Lan Qingyou—the Witch of the Tower who had created the Witch race potion—must be some kind of "old hag" existence.
