“Master said that because of your intense hatred and anger toward him, you have reached a warped realm.”
Begrun panted heavily, gritting his teeth as he looked at Kerrigan.
Unbeknownst to him, Kerrigan had already revealed all four of her arms, gripping four swords as a blue-black aura surged across her entire body.
“Is that really all there is to your power?! A flame that can no longer burn once the object of your hatred is gone?!”
Begrun could not understand.
Though talented, he had once been called an immature prince. The only reason he fought desperately, trained, and sought enlightenment was ultimately to protect.
First to protect his people from the beastkin, and now to protect them from the Great Devourer.
The sword in his hand was a sword of protection.
This was different from the sword of cultivation wielded by his master, Grimgor.
Because of this, he was fundamentally incapable of understanding the sword of slaughter in Kerrigan's hands.
A sword swung solely to slaughter, hack down, and destroy.
Naturally, Kerrigan did not understand what Begrun was saying either, nor did she care what values he fought for.
But one thing was certain. The current Begrun, much like the Grimgor of the past, was an opponent who ignited her fighting spirit.
“How delightful.”
The voice coming from beneath Kerrigan's mask made him shudder.
Anyone who heard it would know that those words were filled with pure, unadulterated sincerity.
“Fine. If that is your true nature.”
Begrun's expression turned solemn, and he tightened his grip on his sword.
In truth, he had already anticipated losing this war.
Even if he could defeat Kerrigan in a one-on-one duel, the Great Devourers that had already spread everywhere would still remain.
The Beastkin Kingdom lacked firepower and military strength. For a powerhouse like Begrun to make a difference, he ultimately needed support.
Yet, there were far too many such individuals by Kerrigan's side.
Not to mention Celia and Lisette, even her sister Elise was watching everything from behind.
“Even so, I will fight, for this is my sword!”
Begrun steadied his breathing, his body glowing even brighter. This was the realm he had reached.
Ironically, this power could not have awakened without an absolute evil like Kerrigan; it was a strength forged and perfected through constant struggle against powerful foes.
“...What a beautiful sight.”
Perhaps this was the moment another hero was born, a spectacle beautiful enough to truly move Uria, the God of War, who was currently witnessing the demise of his servants on Terra.
Through countless growths, such a hero could eventually obtain a Transcendent Divine Status and awaken as a god.
“Your Majesty! Could this be dangerous?!”
Seeing the radiant Begrun, Celia could not help but panic.
In Celia's eyes, Begrun's power was dangerous.
Despite utilizing a lower output of energy, he possessed a sharpness and tenacity capable of severing Kerrigan's power in an instant.
“That is why she is having even more fun.”
Elise, on the other hand, was not worried at all.
She could feel that the stronger her opponent, the more excited Kerrigan became.
It did not matter even if Kerrigan was cut or killed.
She would regenerate quickly anyway. Unlike Elise, Kerrigan did not care about her body being damaged.
Furthermore, she had experience resurrecting after being decapitated; as long as her head remained intact, it could be transplanted onto a new body to bring her back to life.
Even if her head was completely destroyed and she could not be resurrected, Elise would not feel too much grief or despair.
Regret was regret, but Elise's thought was simply that she could just give birth to another sister.
The only issue was that doing so would hurt the pride of the migratory colony, and a special servant whom Lin Miao had personally bestowed a name upon would die.
Therefore, Elise planned that if things truly reached that point, she would retaliate by thoroughly and brutally slaughtering all the forces of the Beastkin Kingdom, leaving not a single soul alive.
“Queen! I have long since abandoned any hope of survival. Come with me on this path!”
Using his own power as fuel, Begrun charged at Kerrigan like a raging inferno.
Like a flame, he was burning himself out.
If the battle dragged on, he would eventually incinerate himself in agony.
Seemingly wishing to end the fight before he burned out completely, Begrun unleashed a flurry of fierce blue slashes, striking Kerrigan's body repeatedly.
Her protective barrier shattered, and Kerrigan barely managed to deflect the attacks with her swinging swords.
‘I can't tell. Who's going to win?’
In contrast, Lin Miao, who was watching from the sidelines, grew increasingly anxious.
Knowing nothing about actual combat techniques, Lin Miao had no idea who held the upper hand or who had the advantage in the fierce clash between Kerrigan and Begrun.
Lin Miao stood up, his eyes glued to the screen as he paced back and forth, watching the dazzling collision of power against power while gulping down water.
“!”
Just then, the sword energy unleashed by Begrun finally broke through Kerrigan's defenses and struck her body.
The sheer force of the blow was powerful enough to collapse half of a three-story stone building behind them.
At this moment, the out-of-control magic power within his body was still burning fiercely.
“So that is the power to protect?”
“You...”
Begrun frowned from the intense pain wracking his body, but his eyes widened when he looked at Kerrigan.
Beneath one of her severed arms, her partially damaged upper body exoskeleton, and her cracked mask, a beautiful face and figure were revealed.
However, she did not possess a fully human face like Elise did.
Her face, marked by two lines that crossed horizontally over her eyes, carried a certain sense of alien strangeness.
Her eyes were as pitch-black as Elise's, with vertical red pupils that gleamed sharply.
“...If it is for the sake of protection,” Kerrigan's lips curled up slightly as she raised her swords with her remaining three arms, “have you ever thought of using that power for our sake?”
“W-What?”
Begrun was stunned by these unexpected words.
This was an obsession of a different form, unlike his intense hatred for Grimgor.
Begrun retorted, “What nonsense are you spouting? Are you trying to sway me with sweet words now?!”
Kerrigan remained completely unfazed. “I am serious.”
Begrun found it absurd and thought of many possibilities, but in reality, Kerrigan was not sophisticated enough to wage psychological warfare against him with words.
In other words, everything Kerrigan was saying to Begrun right now was completely genuine.
She coveted Begrun's strength and saw potential in his heart.
She was simply wondering what it would be like if Begrun's heart, which transcended and sacrificed for the sake of protection, could be turned toward her and the Great Devourer colony.
If that were possible, Begrun could become a reliable Queen's knight and Legion Commander, much like Celia and Lisette under Elise.
“I must have it.”
Kerrigan's smile widened further, and she naturally licked her lips with her red tongue.
Seeing this, Begrun involuntarily took a step back.
This was a terror entirely different from before.
If the masked Kerrigan was an unreasonable, heartless disaster akin to a monster, then this woman walking toward him while licking her lips exuded a palpable danger from her gaze alone.
