They were eager for a fair and square battle, using the spoils of victory to complete a brand-new evolution unique to the migratory colony.
Lin Miao was filled with curiosity. What was their battle plan?
He wanted to know how the Second Queen Ant would confront the beastkin and turn this crisis into an opportunity.
After all, the beastkin army attacking this time was on a completely different scale compared to the individual tribes they had dealt with before.
【The servants have formulated a plan: Defeat the enemy forces to the southwest, seize the spoils, and retreat quickly】
Before long, a system prompt popped up, revealing their battle intentions.
Lin Miao looked at the words, unable to help but bite his lip and murmur, “The south...”
He had originally hoped they would go deal with the enemy forces to the northwest.
Lin Miao thought to himself, The enemy forces to the southwest are the servants of a deity.
He had been lurking on the Divine Net forum, so he was naturally aware of the other deities' plans.
It was also on the forum that he learned the deity-worshipping beastkin and the traditional tribes who opposed the deities had put aside their conflicts and reached a truce to combat the ant colony.
According to the information, the army approaching from the southwest was indeed the faction of deity servants.
In other words, they possessed unknown trump cards.
Lin Miao thought, Did they choose that direction because there seem to be fewer enemies there? True, the ant colony has no way of knowing the inside details.
Judging by numbers alone, the deity-serving faction was indeed smaller. The ant colony's choice to deal with them first wasn't a wrong judgment.
But he wanted to correct their decision.
Lin Miao couldn't directly bestow an oracle like the other deities, but in this situation, he wished he could give them even a tiny hint.
【Elise has perceived a sense of incongruity through the connected bond】
Just then, a prompt that completely exceeded Lin Miao's expectations popped up.
To his shock, Elise had actually sensed a portion of his thoughts.
Lin Miao murmured in shock, “What? She can understand my thoughts?”
【Elise cannot fully comprehend why she is experiencing this feeling】
Lin Miao stood frozen in shock. The sense of incongruity Elise perceived through the bond was actually closer to a form of intuition.
If she were an ordinary servant, she would most likely find it bizarre and dismiss it from her mind.
【Elise is certain this is by no means an accident, and has shared this sense of incongruity with the entire ant colony】
Yet, it was precisely Elise's nascent self-awareness and the hive mind of the ant colony that came to the rescue at this moment.
Instead of ignoring this subtle incongruity, they shared it with the entire colony, ultimately influencing the judgment of the Second Queen Ant.
【The Queen Ant did not ignore this sense of incongruity and has altered the battle plan. The migratory colony has turned around and is heading toward the northwest】
Lin Miao froze, his entire body trembling uncontrollably as an indescribable wave of excitement welled up in his chest. It worked! Though it's not perfect yet, my will has finally been conveyed to them!
Before this, the colony's greatest response to him had merely been failing to understand his emotions and being swept into a frenzy as a result.
But now, they had finally crossed that threshold. Even if it was just a tiny fraction, Lin Miao's will had finally reached them and translated into concrete action.
On the plains, a beastkin scout stared at the black shadows flying across the horizon and shrieked in terror, “It's their scouts! Those little winged things!”
Another beastkin immediately gripped his weapon and shouted at the top of his lungs, “They really are coming this way!”
The entire migratory colony mobilized, including the Queen Ant and even the worker ants carrying larvae in their mandibles. They swept across the plains, advancing toward the beastkin army in the northwest.
The beastkin also detected the approaching ant colony through their scattered scouts.
They hurriedly assembled their ranks. This beastkin army was precisely composed of the local tribes that had not yet submitted to the deities.
Lin Miao thought to himself, Though it's a bit of a pity, even if I left them alone, these guys would eventually submit to the deities sooner or later, just like the Church of the Goddess of Light.
Logically speaking, letting the two factions fight among themselves indefinitely would be most beneficial to him. However, if the ant colony wanted to grow, they had to devour other forces.
Rather than waiting, it was better to annihilate one side before they could fully unite.
In other words, the chessboard was set.
The migratory colony, which had previously wiped out small tribes, swept across the plains, and remained undefeated, was finally about to clash head-on with the hegemonic beastkin forces of these plains.
【The servants are acting in an orderly manner, drawing upon their experience from fighting the beastkin】
Utilizing their accumulated combat experience, the ant colony was fully prepared to clash with the beastkin.
They deployed a massive number of mutated soldier ants at the front lines to block the charge of the wolf riders.
At the same time, they stationed mutated variants with mobility far exceeding that of the wolf riders on both flanks, ready to strike at any moment.
As expected of a colony bound by a hive mind, though they appeared as a chaotic, teeming mass on the surface, they had actually reorganized their formation at incredible speed and were fully prepared for battle.
Lin Miao watched the standoff between the two armies on the screen, wondering to himself: How much do they actually know about the ant colony?
But how much did this beastkin army in front of him truly know about the incoming migratory colony?
Unless a deity intervened, sparing no expense of their interference force to relay the shared information from the community to them.
Even he felt his heart leap into his throat when watching the battles erupting at the southern high wall. The fighting was simply too brutal.
The Church of the Goddess of Light indeed had many capable individuals. Every time a new mutated variant appeared, they always managed to find a countermeasure within a short time and fought back with desperate resolve.
Watching all this, Lin Miao became increasingly convinced of one thing: understanding the enemy and finding a breakthrough would directly determine the outcome of the war.
Even as the one guiding the evolution of the ant colony, he had to ponder how to dismantle the opponent's weapons.
【The Second Queen Ant has already anticipated victory】
The Queen Ant of the migratory colony relied heavily on her own special mutated variants.
This was also one of the differences between them and Elise's main nest colony: a brand-new mutated variant evolved from the abilities gained by devouring mantises.
The mutated variants created by Elise were ant species that closely resembled ordinary mantises in appearance.
They had longer thoracic and abdominal segments than normal ants. Usually, they crawled normally with their forelegs tucked in, but once they entered combat, they would raise their chests and flare their forelegs, slashing at enemies like scythes.
In contrast, the mutated variants created by the Queen Ant of the migratory colony possessed a completely different morphology.
They had a pair of scythe-like legs mounted on the backs of highly mobile mutated variants, allowing them to slash and pierce freely.
They could evolve into different forms based on the environment and their roles.
And these results, which could be considered their first attempt, were about to prove their worth in this large-scale battle—a true clash of armies, rather than a one-sided slaughter and raid.
