Chapter 157 | The Alliance Hired Me to Play Final Boss

Time returns to the present moment—specifically, just after Ren Yi was tricked into the Instance by Lord Cha.

Just now, he had experienced the most "stimulating" teleportation since he had started entering Instances.

The mirror floor beneath his feet seemed to turn into a thin film of water. A brief coolness swept over his body, and the next second, a sudden sensation of weightless falling took over.

"Aaaaaah...!"

Lu Zihan's startled cry came from not far away.

Ren Yi instinctively tried to circulate his power, intending to revert to his True Form and float to cushion the impact, but his body suddenly stiffened.

The surrounding space seemed to be abruptly narrowed by an invisible giant hand, locking him firmly within it.

The sensation was like being forced through a long, narrow pipe.

He could clearly feel himself being distorted and squeezed by the dual pressures of gravity and spatial compression, stretched out into a long strip.

Finally, amidst a dizzying swirl of motion, he was thrown out like laundry from a high-speed washing machine, landing heavily on a cold chair.

Ren Yi felt a severe sense of discomfort.

The feeling was somewhat familiar, much like when Azure had imprisoned his body in the Three Cities World. At this moment, he was once again forcibly locked into a human shell.

Moreover, it was even more severe than that time; he could feel that his abilities seemed completely unusable.

Was this the "tiny bit of restriction" Lord Cha had mentioned?

Ren Yi instinctively rubbed his forehead. After a long while, he finally calmed down and looked up to survey his surroundings.

This was a spacious yet oppressive European-style manor banquet hall. The overall color palette was dark and somber, with mottled, yellowed oil paintings hanging on the walls.

Ren Yi's gaze fell upon the round table in front of him. It was covered with various exquisite delicacies, and candelabras cast a dim, flickering yellow light.

In addition to the food and candles, Ren Yi noticed that a key was placed at regular intervals along the round table.

The seats around the round table were already filled with people, each face bearing the same expression of lingering shock. Including Ren Yi, there were exactly twelve people seated at the table.

The reason he could count them so quickly was that a large number "3" was written on the tablecloth directly in front of him.

To his right, not far away, the seat marked "1" was adjacent to the seat marked "12."

Clearly, these twelve people—or at least, these humanoid creatures—couldn't all be Anomalies.

So, this "board game Instance" didn't even have a preparation period? It just started right away?

It was certainly as sudden and unexpected as Lord Cha's usual style.

At that moment, a cold, mechanical voice echoed through the empty room. Simultaneously, a block of text materialized, floating in the air before everyone's eyes.

【Welcome to the "Anomaly Kill" game site, respected Participants and, of course, Anomalies.】

【To ensure fairness, this game has applied disguises to all Participants to prevent acquaintances from disrupting the game order.】

【The game rules are now officially announced as follows.】

1. There are a total of 12 Participants, divided into three major factions: 4 Specials, 4 Ordinary Humans, and 4 Anomalies.

2. The Anomaly faction is completely sealed during the day and forced to maintain human form.

During the sealed period, Anomalies may not use any of their own abilities, nor can they trigger any of their own rules. They cannot exert any influence that can be categorized as "supernatural" on any Participant, Anomaly, or Level 5 object.

(This rule is recognized by the rules of both worlds; that is, all Participants can be regarded as absolute, ordinary humans during the day.)

3. At night, the Anomalies' seal is lifted, allowing them to restore their original forms and use their abilities and rules.

The Anomaly faction shares 1 kill target per night and can only choose 1 person to use their abilities on.

After the kill, they cannot take action against anyone else.

4. Starting from the second day, all members of the Participant factions will take turns speaking in order, eventually voting to select one member to be sealed.

5. Initially, 10 keys are placed on the round table, corresponding to 10 rooms within the manor. Each room can accommodate a maximum of two people.

Rooms and doors cannot be destroyed and can be locked from the inside.

Starting from sunrise on the second day, all keys on the table will disappear and be randomly scattered throughout the manor, requiring Participants to find them on their own.

Note: As the game progresses, the number of keys will gradually decrease.

6. The abilities of the Specials are as follows:

Peeper: Every night, they can choose one room to observe, gaining clear knowledge of everything that happens inside, including actions, conversations, etc.;

Locksmith: Every night, they can seal the door of one room. The selected room cannot be entered or exited by any means.

If the Anomalies choose to kill a Participant inside that room, the kill operation cannot be executed that night;

Poison Apprentice: Possesses a bottle of Petrification Potion. Touching any person or Anomaly with it will petrify them. Petrification is considered being "sealed."

Lost Soul: If voted out during the day, they can prove their identity. Regardless of how they are eliminated, they will survive in soul form.

The soul form cannot be observed by Participants and cannot communicate with other Participants.

If the Participant faction wins, they will be restored to physical form and resurrected.

7. Before the first night arrives, a Leadership Meeting will be held. Everyone will speak in numerical order, eventually electing a "Leader."

The "Leader" can decide the subsequent speaking order, starting from either their left or right side, and their vote counts as 1.5 votes during the voting phase.

If the Leader is voted out, they can choose one remaining member to inherit the "Leader" status.

8. The victory condition for the Anomaly faction is to kill all Participants. The victory condition for the Participant factions is to successfully seal all Anomalies.

If the Participants win, each final survivor can choose one teammate to resurrect.

9. Starting from the second day, in addition to the keys refreshing, clues pointing toward the identities and abilities of the Anomalies will be randomly scattered throughout the manor. All game members are encouraged to search for them.

The text slowly dissipated, and Ren Yi furrowed his brow.

All twelve people around the round table remained silent, their expressions varying. Some were lost in thought with heads bowed, while others had tightly knit brows, clearly digesting these rules at high speed.

It seemed there were no "newbies" this time.

This time, the rules didn't deliberately expose the rules and abilities of Anomalies like Ren Yi. Instead, they imposed more detailed and rigorous restrictions on their actions.

When Ren Yi first saw the rules, his immediate thought was: Is this a carry game for Lu Zihan?

Now, no one would dare ignore Lu Zihan.

As long as Old Lu directly shouted, "You are an Anomaly," and the opponent dared to retort, "I am not," according to the previous rules, Old Lu could directly start hacking them to pieces.
