Chapter 166 | The Alliance Hired Me to Play Final Boss

At the table, Player 10 took a deep breath, forcing down that trace of panic.

He lifted his eyelids, putting on a seasoned "I expected this all along" look. He spoke nonchalantly, attempting to save face:

"...It seems Player 6 has some self-awareness. She realized she wasn't fit for the Leader position."

"Regardless, bowing out gracefully is a wise move. It's better than stubbornness that ultimately ruins things for everyone."

Upon hearing this, many people inwardly curled their lips.

You were just staunchly supporting her, and now that she's withdrawn, you immediately call it "wise"? That was a incredibly fast turnaround.

The old man clearly didn't want to dwell on this awkward topic. He immediately shifted the focus, trying to lead the narrative elsewhere.

"In short, among those who have stepped forward so far, those with sincere intentions and a sense of responsibility are few and far between."

"I will definitely not give my vote for Leader to someone who only plays for sympathy or someone who just shouts blindly."

"I'll need to deliberate further. I'll listen to the speeches from the remaining players before making a decision."

Having said his piece, he didn't look at anyone else and sat straight down, his back stiff as if the previous scene had never happened.

Beside him, Player 11—who had intended to stand, then instinctively sat back down after Player 6 extinguished her light, and was now forced to stand again before even getting comfortable—glanced at the old man with a look of speechlessness.

Player 11 was a woman with long golden hair who looked quite intellectual. She wore a simple black dress and had a gentle aura.

It seemed that in a game where physical confrontation was absent and logical reasoning was prioritized, the gender ratio was indeed quite balanced.

She cleared her throat softly and began, "Everyone, I'm not particularly good at analyzing the situation, and I don't want to lead the narrative. I just want to share my own judgments and thoughts for your reference."

"Let's start with my judgment. I'm leaning toward Player 7 being the Lost Soul."

"Although Player 10 said she isn't composed enough to handle the Leader position, I feel that in a life-or-death game like this, sincerity and courage are more important than so-called 'composure.'"

"So, putting aside the matter of responsibility for a moment, I'll be giving my vote to her."

"As for Player 9..." She turned her gaze toward the middle-aged man, her tone carrying a hint of apology.

"I'm sorry, but as you said yourself, I currently suspect you're the Anomaly who felt Player 7's speech was too good and came out to disrupt our perspective and confuse everyone's judgment."

"After all, your speech just now was too emotional, your logic was messy, and you provided no substantive evidence. You just kept accusing Player 7 of being an Anomaly and begging us to believe you. Such a speech really lacks persuasiveness."

"Regarding the external situation, I also have a suggestion..."

Player 11 spoke gently, but the content of her words was dripping with murderous intent.

"How about we just bundle all four people who claimed to be the Lost Soul and send them away together?"

Ignoring the sudden change in everyone's expressions, Player 11 continued softly.

"Though doing this might be a bit unfair to little sister Player 7—I mean, if you really are the Lost Soul."

"But, little sister, you're very brave, and that's wonderful."

"Don't blame me for being blunt, but while there might be certain killing restrictions for the Anomalies that we don't know about, even so, I don't believe a real Lost Soul can survive until the third day."

"The Anomalies' goal is to kill everyone, and the Lost Soul will inevitably become their priority target. Instead of letting you die for nothing, it's better if we strike first and eliminate everyone suspicious."

"So, if any of these four are still alive by the third day, let's just send them all away. Surely one or two Anomalies will be among them."

"The Anomalies have to kill everyone to win this round, so we actually have a bit of a margin for error."

"Ah, I'm sorry..." Player 11 suddenly covered her mouth, a look of apology appearing on her face as if she had only just realized that the "margin for error" she mentioned involved several human lives.

"What I mean is, don't be afraid, little sister. If I survive to the end, I will definitely revive you. I won't let your sacrifice be in vain."

As she spoke, she winked at Zhang Qiuqiu, her eyes full of apparent sincerity.

【I say,】 Lord Cha asked in the chat, his tone filled with confusion.

【I'm just a Cha, so I don't understand much, but isn't the atmosphere here a bit strange?】

【First of all, we're the Anomalies,】 Ren Yi replied succinctly.

【Secondly, I don't get it either.】

【Thirdly, Lord Cha, it's almost your turn. Stop eating melons and start thinking about what to say!】

This Player 11—if you called her stupid, she had come up with such a ruthless suggestion to kill all the Lost Souls.

But if you called her smart, she was constantly fixated on the idea of Zhang Qiuqiu being the Lost Soul, or just fixated on Zhang Qiuqiu in general.

Well... it was certainly a unique approach.

"Alright, that's all for my stance. I'd also like to discuss a question with everyone regarding the use of the Specials' abilities."

She shifted the topic to the Specials, who currently had little presence in the discussion.

"I just thought of something. In the later stages of the game, wouldn't it be more feasible for the Locksmith to actively search for the rooms where the Anomalies are located and then lock the doors?"

"We all know the rules state that the Anomalies share a single killing quota each night. That means they can only choose one person to kill and cannot kill more."

"So, does this mean that not every Anomaly is capable of committing the murder?"

"I've played similar games before. In some cases, the killers might be stuck for certain reasons and lose their ability to kill."

"Could it be that under certain restrictions, the other Anomalies—even if they want to kill us—have no way to act and can only assist from the sidelines?"

Everyone was stunned, their faces showing thoughtful expressions.

No one had really thought deeply about this angle before. Everyone had only focused on the killing quota, without considering that there might be a division of labor within the Anomaly group.

Ren Yi pursed his lips.

These participants had quite vivid imaginations.

But unfortunately, they seemed to have guessed correctly.

It wasn't surprising that the participants were so obsessed with the room situation; even he felt the rules regarding the rooms were very strange.

If the sealing of these rooms was truly effective to a certain degree, and if the participants found the corresponding keys to take inside, then the rooms could become true "locked rooms."
