He quickly stood up, his expression a bit flustered, and his speech was slightly stuttered. "E-everyone... let me say a few words first."
"Right now, our numbers are dwindling, but quite a few Anomalies must have died as well."
"Perhaps we'll be able to achieve victory by tomorrow."
He was strangely optimistic.
He paused, gathered his thoughts, and continued.
"Among the deceased, Player 12 was witnessed by Player 11 and was definitely an Anomaly."
"After being poisoned, Player 8 turned into a stone statue and appeared in the living room. That poisoning most likely took place right here in this banquet hall..."
"Since he appeared here at night, Player 8 can basically be confirmed as an Anomaly as well."
"Therefore, two Anomalies are already dead."
"Today, we can basically deduce another Anomaly. If we do that, we should be close to victory by tomorrow."
"If things go that way, three more of us will have to die."
"However, according to the game rules, the winners can each revive one person."
"Calculating it this way, all of us can survive—not a single person will be missing."
At this point, he seemed to suddenly think of something. "So, I think the Locksmith could try the method mentioned before."
"Don't aim to protect someone; instead, try to aim for blocking the Anomaly."
"Anyway, there should only be one Anomaly left now. Whether you block the Anomaly itself or block the person the Anomaly wants to kill, we have a two-in-seven chance of being safe tonight."
After speaking, he let out a sigh of relief as if a heavy burden had been lifted and quickly sat down, voluntarily ending his speech.
He was truly not suited for public speaking; being able to say this much was already his limit.
Next, the speaking privilege fell to Player 2.
As the only Peeper on the field and the only confirmed good person, everyone's gaze instantly focused on him.
Player 2 slowly stood up, his face devoid of expression and his tone calm and serious as he spoke.
"I want to say three things."
His voice wasn't loud, and it carried almost no emotion.
"First, while looking for the keys in the fireplace today, there was something I didn't have time to mention because of the conflict at the time."
Player 2 paused, his gaze sweeping across the room before he spoke slowly.
"That is, the fireplace flue clearly had space for ten keys, but when I climbed up, I only saw six."
"The remaining four keys are gone."
The moment he finished speaking, he suddenly turned toward the Player 6 girl, looking at her with a sharp gaze and speaking in a flat tone.
"Player 6, you should have confirmed this as well, right?"
Everyone's eyes simultaneously turned toward Player 6.
Player 6 was slightly startled, but she then calmly twirled her hair, her face showing no sign of panic.
However, her once-tidy outfit was now smeared with black charcoal soot and dust, making her look quite disheveled.
She looked like a completely different person compared to her clean and capable appearance over the past two days.
Ren Yi's heart stirred slightly, and he understood instantly.
Player 6 hadn't believed Player 2's words. After everyone else had left, she must have secretly climbed up herself to check the fireplace flue.
He hadn't expected her to be so cautious.
Ignoring Player 6's reaction, Player 2 continued, "I suspect that these missing keys are related to the number of deaths."
"We have four dead people now, and exactly four keys are missing. The correlation is obvious."
He frowned, a hint of doubt in his tone. "But I don't understand why the keys didn't decrease on the first night when Player 4 died."
"I suspect... could it be that the keys don't disappear on their own, but are instead being taken?"
He shook his head and spoke in a serious tone.
"It's just a guess... I'm saying this only to remind everyone."
"In the future, if you find possible clues, do not speak to certain individuals alone. You must speak them aloud to everyone at this round table."
"Also, clues regarding the keys should not be mentioned during the final speaking phase; they should be shared while we still have ample time to search."
"Otherwise, the Anomaly might beat us to the punch."
"Second, I'm sure everyone is clear on who to vote for today."
Player 2's gaze slowly fell upon Player 9, his tone firm. "It's Player 9. Player 11 said before that we should eliminate all the Lost Souls, and I support that decision now."
"With the death of Player 7 and Player 3 being ruled out, Player 9 is the only one left among those who claimed to be a Lost Soul."
"Player 7 was a confirmed innocent, Player 3 has been certified by me, and Player 6 withdrew from the candidacy, so Player 9 is under heavy suspicion."
"Therefore, today, we will push Player 9 out and seal him."
Upon hearing this, Player 9's face instantly turned deathly pale.
Ignoring Player 9, Player 2 continued, "Third thing."
He paused, his tone becoming heavy as he spoke slowly.
"I might die tonight."
A deathly silence filled the hall, but no one looked surprised.
Player 2 was the only confirmed good person on the field and the only Peeper; the possibility of the Anomaly killing him tonight was indeed very high.
Everyone knew that the Locksmith had already protected the room where Player 2 was staying yesterday. According to the game rules, the Locksmith could not protect the same room for two consecutive nights.
So tonight, Player 2 could no longer be protected by the Locksmith.
Player 2 added slowly, "Even with a key, I don't have much chance of survival unless the Locksmith happens to lock the Anomaly and prevents it from coming to kill me."
At this point, his tone shifted and became firm. "So tonight, I'm staying in a double room."
The others looked up in surprise.
What did he mean? Staying with someone else?
Was he inviting a companion to watch his own murder scene?
As if he understood the confusion in their hearts, Player 2 nodded and said calmly, "Yes, to watch the murder scene."
He continued his analysis. "Player 1 was right just now; there's most likely only one Anomaly left on the field."
"Among the Anomalies already sealed, Player 12 was seen by Player 11 to be a Great Anomaly capable of teleportation."
"The remaining Anomaly might not necessarily have that kind of teleportation ability."
"Everyone seems to have forgotten what we thought on the first night."
Player 2's gaze swept across the room as he spoke slowly.
"We hypothesized from the beginning that 'if a person in a double room dies, the remaining person can see the direction the Anomaly left in'."
"Now that the teleporting Anomaly has likely been sealed, this hypothesis holds true once again."
"I will stay in a double room and invite someone to stay with me."
"If the Anomaly comes to kill me tonight, the person staying with me will be able to see the direction it leaves."
"As long as we follow that clue to find the remaining Anomaly tomorrow, we will be victorious."
At this moment, the previously expressionless Player 2 suddenly grinned.
"So, if the Anomaly doesn't want to lose, it can't kill me!"
