Chapter 24 | The Apocalypse Landlady

【Basic Life Support Plan: Curb the further erosion of core organs by Death Tide toxins, alleviate fatal infections, and provide minimal cellular activity support.】

【Required Points: 10.】

【Effect: Target's vital signs will stabilize, removing the risk of immediate death. However, limb damage and partial organ failure are irreversible. Subsequent further treatment or natural recovery (extremely slow) will be required.】

【Execute?】

Ten Points to maintain a temporary mission requirement.

It was a good deal.

“Execute.”

【10 Points deducted. Executing Basic Life Support treatment on Tenant-004 (Viper).】

A faint glimmer, almost imperceptible to the naked eye, flashed across Viper's body.

His originally rapid and weak breathing seemed to smooth out slightly, and the frequency of his body's twitching decreased. Although he remained unconscious, the deathly grey pallor on his face faded a little.

【Treatment complete. Tenant-004 (Viper) vital signs have stabilized, temporarily out of the critical period. Estimated to maintain basic life activities for 24 hours.】

Su Wan stepped forward, pulled a small cloth bag from Viper's clothes, and poured out everything inside.

Unconscious or not, the rent still had to be paid. Since he was incapacitated, she, as the landlord, had to take matters into her own hands.

Six Level 1 Energy Crystal Cores, three Unranked Energy Crystal Cores, a small piece of dark, dry cake, and an unopened tube of nutrition paste.

Su Wan didn't stand on ceremony and took all the Crystal Cores. She had no interest in the dry cake or the nutrition paste, so she casually handed them to Ah-Lan.

【Pure energy carriers from this plane detected: Level 1 Energy Crystal Core ×14, Unranked Energy Crystal Core ×3.】

【Quality Assessment: Good/Poor.】

【Total exchangeable System Points: 7300.】

【Exchange?】

On average, a Level 1 Energy Crystal Core was worth 500 Points, while an Unranked one was only 100 Points!

It seemed the difference in quality between Crystal Cores resulted in a massive gap in value.

“Exchange.”

【Exchange successful. Current System Points: 310 (previous) + 7300 = 7610.】

Before the thrill of the surging Points could fade, the system notification rang out again, this time with an unusual rhythm:

【Ding! Detected that the host's cumulative acquisition of high-value resources (Energy Crystal Cores) from this plane has reached a certain threshold, and the number of tenants has increased to four, meeting the initial requirements for a small settlement's economic cycle.】

【“Shelter Management Support Module” automatically upgraded!】

【New Facility: Star Coin Exchange Machine (Plane Resource Universal Type).】

Su Wan’s spirits lifted, and she immediately pulled up the building management interface.

Beside the model of the first-floor lobby public area, a facility icon with a faint blue outline was slowly rotating into form. The icon's design looked like an alloy cabinet that combined an automatic vending machine with a precision analyzer.

She focused her mind and clicked the icon, and detailed information emerged:

【Facility: Star Coin Exchange Machine】

【Type: Rule-based Support/Economic Facility】

【Functions:】

1. Resource Identification and Exchange: Can rapidly scan and identify substances from this plane and convert them into “Star Coin” amounts based on their value.

2. Star Coin Payment and Storage: Generates an independent virtual Star Coin account for every tenant/visitor registered in the system. Tenants can place their own items into the exchange machine to convert them into Star Coins stored in their accounts. The host (Su Wan) can set rent and commodity prices to be settled in Star Coins.

3. Authority Management: The host holds supreme management authority, can view all account transactions, and can extract a certain percentage as a transaction fee.

4. Data Integration: Exchange machine data is directly linked to the system's mission and building management modules, making it easy for the host to track resource inflow, set rent standards, and issue paid missions.

【Placement Requirement: Must be placed in a public area within the building, occupies approximately 2 square meters, consumes 1000 Points.】

【Construction/Unlock Cost: Automatically unlocked.】

【Prompt: This facility will greatly simplify the resource collection and economic management processes of this plane, assisting in the standardized operation of the shelter. It is recommended to place it and announce the rules of use as soon as possible.】

Su Wan’s eyes lit up.

This was truly a timely help!

She had been worrying about how to collect rent and conduct transactions fairly and efficiently.

Gold, Crystal Cores, and other miscellaneous supplies were troublesome to value and inconvenient to convert, making disputes easy to arise.

With this “Star Coin Exchange Machine,” all those problems would be solved!

Tenants could throw anything valuable they found into it to exchange for Star Coins, then use those Star Coins to pay rent or buy food and water from the convenience store.

She only needed to set the Star Coin rent for the rooms and the Star Coin prices for the goods.

“Place immediately!” Su Wan said without hesitation.

【Please select a placement location.】

Su Wan scanned the first-floor lobby model.

The convenience store was next to Room 101, so she would place the exchange machine opposite it, against a relatively spacious wall on the other side of the lobby.

That spot was prominent and convenient for people coming and going.

【Location confirmed.】

【Points -1000, remaining Points: 6610. Generating Star Coin Exchange Machine...】

In the lobby on the first floor, at the location Su Wan had chosen.

The air distorted slightly, and light seemed to bend momentarily.

Immediately following that, a streamlined, silver-grey machine about two meters high and one meter wide materialized out of thin air, landing steadily on the floor.

The front of the machine was a full dark glass screen, currently in standby mode and glowing with a faint blue light.

Below the screen was a deposit slot with a scanning port, and beside it was a clear identification zone for fingerprints or ID and a numeric keypad.

Almost simultaneously, Su Wan felt a clear connection established between herself and this machine.

She could directly set various parameters through her thoughts.

First, she pulled up the “Basic Supply Value Database” provided by the system and quickly set a series of initial Star Coin exchange benchmarks, rent, and price systems:
