A sudden commotion rippled through the crowd as every gaze focused squarely on Su Wan.
Curiosity, scrutiny, anticipation, awe...
A myriad of emotions flickered across those weather-beaten faces.
Su Wan scanned the group, her mind racing with calculations.
Over a dozen people—far exceeding the five new tenants required for the Main Quest!
Ah-Lan’s efficiency was much higher than she had anticipated.
It seemed the allure of “complete protection from the Death Tide” and “clean food” was truly unparalleled.
She had neither the time nor the need to personally sign contracts with everyone.
Since she had a management robot, she might as well put it to full use.
Su Wan authorized Butler-C1 to represent the Terminal Station Shelter and sign Basic Rental Contracts with those outside who had passed the preliminary screening, were confirmed to have no extreme malice, and were willing to follow the rules.
The contract used the standard template, with the rent set as previously established: 800 Star Coins per month per person for a Basic Single Room (door and window only), with options for labor-for-rent or material deductions.
Once signed, the tenants would be guided to use the Star Coin Exchange Machine for identity binding and initial account setup.
【Authorization received. Executing contract signing procedure.】
The blue light in C1’s eyes stabilized as it immediately set to work.
It stepped in front of the crowd, using its calm electronic voice to explain the key points of the contract and the rent rules. It then began scanning each individual’s identity, recording facial and basic biometric features as the contracts were finalized.
Strange pieces of paper glowing with white light turned into shimmering dust after the applicants pressed their handprints onto them.
The entire process was incredibly efficient, leaving the refugees even more in awe and afraid to act out of line.
Ah-Lan stepped back to Su Wan’s side and whispered, “Landlord, these are all relatively honest refugees from the area. Most of them have families in tow, though a few are struggling on their own. Old Zhao’s family of four is among them.”
She pointed toward Old Zhao, who was holding his child in the crowd, his face flushed with excitement and hope.
Su Wan nodded and looked at Ah-Lan. “You did well. The referral reward I promised will be deposited into your account once they are all settled and C1 verifies everything.”
Ah-Lan’s face lit up with joy, and she hurriedly said, “Thank you! Thank you, Landlord!”
Su Wan didn’t say anything more, her eyes following C1 as it worked.
As one person after another pressed their handprints, white light flashed repeatedly, and system notifications began to chime continuously in Su Wan’s mind:

The richness of the gift pack far exceeded Su Wan’s expectations!
Su Wan was overjoyed and immediately began planning:
She would use the Basic Room Construction right away, prioritizing the remaining doorframes on the first floor and some rooms on the second floor to accommodate the new tenants.
She would place the Public Cafeteria Template.
There was a large vacant space on the other side of the first-floor lobby that perfectly met the requirements.
She would upgrade the convenience store to increase the variety of goods, improving convenience and profitability.
She would also look into placing the Simple Mission Board...
Under the efficient, programmed operations of Butler-C1, the contract signing, identity entry, and preliminary rule briefing for the fourteen new tenants were completed systematically in less than an hour.
As each person who had pressed their handprint onto a contract stepped through the fire door and felt the warm, dry, clean air—free of Death Tide residue and radiation dust—their faces filled with a near-trancelike sense of relief and excitement.
