Chapter 35 | The One Who Devours All

It wasn’t just Zhong Mo; Pei Yue also immediately realized what Yue Shi was planning.

To put it nicely, the three transcendents were teaming up to deal with the supernatural creatures outside and had no time to look after anyone else.

To put it bluntly, they were ditching the dead weight. Whether they fought or fled, their burden would be significantly lightened.

Even though Pei Yue was the company leader, he didn’t dare say anything in this situation. He could only curse inwardly while desperately trying to think of a solution.

However, he soon lost the luxury of thought, as the Bee Women’s assault was more violent than expected.

“Crack!”

The office door shook violently under the impact. Then, wood splinters flew everywhere as cracks spread like a demon’s fangs. Before anyone could react, the door slammed to the ground.

A hideous Bee Woman was the first to charge in, but before she could do anything, several long, thick spikes sprouted from Fang Jianxin’s shoulder, killing her in a single strike!

Unfortunately, amidst a cacophony of chaotic sounds, even more Bee Women began to pour in. Their faces were twisted with murderous intent, and the room instantly fell into chaos.

Pitch-black ravens rose from the shadows. Yue Shi stepped forward quickly, flanking the doorway with Fang Jianxin. His fingers transformed into talons, killing every creature that appeared.

Corpses piled up, barely forming a defensive line.

But... killing Bee Women wasn’t the main problem. The real trouble was the overwhelming swarm of venomous bees!

They were small, numerous, and highly mobile. Clearing them required flamethrowers or similar area-of-effect abilities.

Regrettably, Tulip Security Company was underprepared. They had come to the school today for an investigation. With three transcendent employees, they thought they could handle anything. Who could have expected to encounter such a dangerous and sudden incident?

Painful cries came from behind; some unlucky soul had been stung.

Time seemed to freeze, each second feeling as long as an eternity in hell. In this critical moment, some people covered their heads with their jackets, some tore down curtains to wrap themselves, and others huddled under desks. Since it was late autumn, they were wearing thick clothes and could manage to hold out for now.

But a new development soon arrived.

Outside the window, a Bee Woman hovered in mid-air, her wings vibrating at a high frequency.

She didn’t break the glass to come inside. Instead, she opened her deformed mouthparts and spat out large quantities of pale yellow mucus.

A thick layer of beeswax rapidly solidified on the glass.

At the same time, Bee Women at the doorway were also spitting beeswax, gluing it to the pile of corpses on the floor to form a heavy wall.

“This is bad. They want to trap us in the room!” Fang Jianxin’s expression changed drastically.

The principal’s office was spacious, but there were many people inside. Once the doors and windows were completely sealed with beeswax, they wouldn’t even need to be hunted like rats in a trap; oxygen deprivation alone would be enough to kill them!

Thinking of this, Fang Jianxin’s arms immediately grew covered in spikes, resembling two maces. Without a word, she carved through the wax wall blocking the door.

However, she didn’t rush out immediately. Instead, she turned and picked up the unconscious Bai Qingyu, who had already been stung, before running out.

“You’re on your own,” Zhong Mo dropped those words and followed her.

“Damn it!” Watching their departing figures, Pei Yue cursed through gritted teeth, yet he didn’t show much fear or despair.

In the hallway, Yue Shi, who was the first to exit, was in the middle of a slaughter. The Bee Women charging at him fell one by one. Occasionally, a panicked passerby fleeing in terror was killed by him as collateral damage to prevent them from screaming or begging for help and affecting his performance.

As far as the eye could see, there were corpses everywhere. The scene was extremely gruesome.

Yue Shi didn’t stop, continuing forward while guarding against the venomous bees darting everywhere.

Shadow Soldier ravens circled him, protecting him completely. They focused especially on his head, and the occasional bee that slipped through the gaps found it difficult to harm him.

Perhaps because these Bee Women were newly born supernatural creatures, the quality and quantity of their source were insufficient. Although Yue Shi’s killing efficiency was high, the progress toward activating his fifth ability was slow.

Fortunately, there were plenty of Bee Women here, and they seemed to have targeted Yue Shi, continuously gathering toward him.

After all, there was a grudge between them. Yue Shi had handled the previous two Bee Woman incidents in Amber City. Especially during the second one at Rose Manor, that Bee Woman had vowed revenge before she died.

Perhaps the death of the Parasitic Mushroom was also part of the grudge.

More and more Bee Women gathered. Yue Shi also noticed some students with blood-red eyes who had lost their minds, looking like zombies as they waved their arms and attacked everyone indiscriminately.

They were likely innocent people who had been contaminated and were being controlled by the supernatural. However, Yue Shi showed no mercy. Whether they were human or supernatural, as long as they tried to attack him, none would survive.

In just a few minutes, countless corpses littered the floor, and a thick scent of blood permeated the air.

Zhong Mo and Fang Jianxin, following behind, witnessed this scene. Their expressions were varied, but neither said much, sticking closely to the path Yue Shi had carved out.

The number of Bee Women was far greater than this. The entire campus seemed to have transformed into a hive. When Yue Shi left the office building, countless hideous figures sprinted toward him from nearby.

A moment later, they were all dead.

Dozens of corpses formed a circle around Yue Shi.

Realizing that Yue Shi was not to be trifled with, the remaining Bee Women who weren’t suited for combat finally stopped throwing their lives away and stood fifty meters away.

Then, they opened their deformed mouthparts and vibrated their wings at a specific frequency, emitting a series of eerie sounds.

The sound quickly spread in all directions, like a sinister wind blowing through the cracks of hell, making everyone feel uneasy.

“Ahhh!!!”

A survivor who had been playing dead on the ground suddenly stood up and roared. Without any warning, confusion, or fear, his eyes were filled only with slaughter and destruction.

Other people still alive nearby showed similar symptoms, becoming violent, frantic, and completely devoid of reason.

They attacked recklessly and fearlessly. Fang Jianxin seemed to realize something, and her movements suddenly became hesitant.

Yue Shi, however, had no such qualms, and his hands were soon covered in warm blood.

From his back right, a girl with disheveled hair lunged at him. He turned and struck. Just as he was about to pierce her skull, a shout rang out abruptly in his ear.

“Stop!”

A tall, thin young man with sunglasses and slicked-back hair strode forward from the chaotic crowd. He used a knife-hand strike to knock the crazed girl unconscious, catching her in his arms. He then glared at Yue Shi.

“They are all innocent ordinary people who have just been deluded by the supernatural. They can still be saved! How could you be so cruel as to kill them?!”
