Chapter 15 | The Otherworld Journey That Starts From a Slime

Coming to a clearing in the forest, Leona put Zhang Ye down and asked, “You can directly steal my magic, right?”

Zhang Ye was startled, but he quickly realized that Leona must have retained some awareness while unconscious and knew he could acquire magic through her.

Since Leona already knew, Zhang Ye didn't bother hiding it. He nodded and said, “Pretty much. Also, as long as you release a spell once, I can learn it if you give me some time!”

“Is that so? What a terrifying ability.” Leona nodded, and a bold, spirited smile appeared on her heroic face. “Then let’s test it out first.”

With that, she opened her palm and clenched it into a fist. In an instant, flames condensed in her hand, eventually forming the shape of a clawed gauntlet.

“Tier Four magic—【Scorching Flame Claw】. Can you learn it?”

Zhang Ye immediately copied it, then opened both hands and shouted, “【Scorching Flame Claw】!”

In the next moment, a flame claw very similar to Leona’s condensed in his hands, though the flames didn't look as powerful as hers.

Even though he had Perfect Mastery, Leona was, after all, a Saint-tier; the power of her magic was naturally stronger than that of Zhang Ye, who was only at Tier Four.

“Give me half a day, and I’ll have it completely mastered!” Zhang Ye said.

The analysis time for Tier Four was ten hours!

“Not bad.” Leona nodded, acknowledging Zhang Ye’s formidable ability, and then asked, “So, how many spells can you learn?”

“As many as there are, I’ll learn!” Zhang Ye said with eyes burning with excitement.

“Can you even learn Saint-tier ones?” Leona asked.

“I can!” Zhang Ye nodded, but then he scratched his head. “I can learn them, but it would take a very long time.”

The analysis time for a single Saint-tier spell was a whole year, which was indeed quite long.

“Fine. I will now release spells of various tiers one by one. Learn what you can, and if you can’t learn something, ask me and I’ll teach you.”

“Once you’re finished learning...” At this point, Leona gave a mysterious smile. “We’ll talk after you’re done.”

Zhang Ye immediately nodded.

Although he didn't know what would happen afterward, he felt that Leona wouldn't harm him—after all, she was so strong that she wouldn't need to go through such trouble if she wanted to hurt him. Besides, he had saved her life, so she had no reason to do so.

Furthermore, the prospect of being able to learn all sorts of magic had him so excited he could hardly contain himself.

“Kid, watch closely!” With that, a powerful aura erupted from Leona’s body, and dozens of intermediate magic circles expanded behind her.

“To think she can instantly release dozens of spells at once. Even if they’re only intermediate magic, it’s still incredible...” Ella said in surprise.

Zhang Ye looked at each spell, his face filled with excitement as he began a series of copies.

Tier Four—【Lava Heatwave】!

Tier Four—【Scorching Flame Current】!

Tier Four—【Blazing Pillar】!

Tier Five—【Earth-Melting Flame Pillar】!

Tier Five—【Glazed Flame Whip】!

Tier Five—【Scorching Flame Roar】!

Tier Six—【Lion Fireball】!

A pure array of fire magic, spanning Tiers Four, Five, and Six!

Seeing dozens of them at once made Zhang Ye’s head spin, but he analyzed them all one by one.

Tier Four took ten hours, Tier Five took one day, and Tier Six took three days!

“Learned them!” Zhang Ye said.

“So fast?” Leona was somewhat surprised.

Zhang Ye gave a cheeky grin. “I only need to see them once. Time takes care of the rest.”

As he spoke, he waved his hand, and a flaming lion’s head appeared above him.

Tier Six magic, 【Lion Fireball】!

However, although he could use it after copying, Tier Six magic was incredibly mana-intensive. This single Tier Six spell drained nearly a fifth of his mana, making him feel quite empty inside instantly.

If he were an ordinary Tier Four, he wouldn't have such a massive mana reserve.

“Little monster,” Leona couldn't help but say upon seeing this. Then she laughed heartily. “But a monster is exactly what I need. An ordinary person wouldn't be worthy of me!”

Hearing this, Zhang Ye chuckled. This bold older sister was truly confident.

It was confidence, not narcissism.

Because Leona truly had the capital to back it up.

“Continue!” she said, waving her hand. Dozens of magic circles appeared behind her again, though this time they didn't condense as quickly as the intermediate spells.

These were all high-level magic of Tier Seven and above!

Tier Seven—【Flame Power Rampage】!

Tier Seven—【Sky-Piercing Flame Wave】!

Tier Eight—【Fire Rain from the Heavens】!

Tier Eight—【Phoenix Breath】!

Tier Nine—【Sky Prison Fire Domain】!

Tier Nine—【Blazing Flame Lion】!

Tier Ten—【Burning Flame Lotus Lion】!

Tier Seven analysis took ten days, Tier Eight took one month, Tier Nine took two months, and Tier Ten took six months!

Watching those high-level spells condense one after another, Zhang Ye’s eyes nearly popped out of his head. He kept crying out in shock while analyzing every single one.

Throughout it all, Leona kept her arms crossed with a calm expression.

“Finished!” Zhang Ye said.

Leona nodded and then smiled. “Do you want to learn Saint-tier?”

“Yes!” Zhang Ye said without hesitation.

To his surprise, Leona flashed in front of him in the next instant and delivered a sharp knock to his head.

Thump!

Did that sound good? It was a very solid sound.

Without the buffer of hair, that knock on the head felt especially crisp.

“Ow!” Zhang Ye crouched on the ground, clutching his head, then looked up pitifully. “What did you hit me for...?”

Leona grinned, revealing her sharp canine teeth. “A little guy who hasn't even reached Tier Nine and doesn't possess the power of laws actually wants to learn Saint-tier magic.”

“Aren't you afraid of being blasted into dust by the laws of the world?”

“Eh?” Zhang Ye was stunned and quickly asked Ella in his mind, “Ella, can't I learn Saint-tier magic?”

Ella shook her head. “Ordinary people can't, but you have the system, so you can analyze it directly. However, you won't be able to use it even after the analysis is complete.”

“This is because Saint-tier magic is no longer within the realm of ordinary magic; it involves the power of laws. If you don't possess the power of laws and try to force a Saint-tier spell, at best your soul will be severely damaged, and at worst you’ll be consumed by the backlash of the laws and blasted into dust.”

“Gulp!” Zhang Ye was startled, then gave Leona a sheepish smile. “With my ability, I can just learn it first. It’ll be fine as long as I don't cast it...”

Leona looked at him and said, “No. Being overly ambitious isn't good for your future growth. Just focus on mastering the magic you’ve already learned to the absolute limit.”

“I’ve already mastered them to the limit!” Zhang Ye said.

But Leona shook her head. “When I say mastering to the limit, I don't mean mastering the spell itself, but mastering how to release it.”

“You have talent, but you have zero combat experience. In that state, even if you could instantly cast a hundred spells at once, you could never become a true powerhouse.”

“So, now that you’ve learned them... go get some real combat experience for me!”

“What?” Zhang Ye was a bit dazed, but then he saw a massive figure flying toward them from the distance.

Zhang Ye squinted to look and was instantly shocked.

Holy crap!

A Berserk Bear!

It was the same Berserk Bear that had chased him so hard earlier!

Only now, this Berserk Bear was being held in a massive flaming lion’s palm, curled into a ball and trembling all over, not even daring to open its eyes.

“I’ve kept your little pet safe for you.” As she spoke, Leona condensed a flaming lion’s palm to pluck Gujiu from Zhang Ye’s shoulder and held it in her hand.

“Gu! Gujiu!” Gujiu let out a terrified cry and instinctively tried to devour Leona’s mana, but Zhang Ye quickly soothed it, which finally calmed Gujiu down.

“The first thing you need to do is defeat it!” With a wave of Leona’s hand, the Berserk Bear held by the lion’s palm was dropped onto the ground.

“Defeat it?!” Zhang Ye said in shock. “But it’s Tier Five and has the combat power of a Tier Seven! How could I possibly defeat it?”

“How will you know it’s impossible if you don't try?” Leona laughed heartily and boldly. “Didn't you want to be my man? Are you saying you can't handle this?”

Hearing this, Zhang Ye gritted his teeth and puffed out his chest. “How can a man say he can't handle it? Bring it on! I’ve always been capable!”

“I just happened to copy two high-level spells; I’ll use it to test them out!”

“Good!” Seeing Zhang Ye’s high morale, Leona nodded with satisfaction. “Then let’s begin!”

As soon as she finished speaking, Leona’s figure vanished, and the giant hand holding the Berserk Bear also disappeared.

The Berserk Bear was stunned. Sensing that the terrifying aura had vanished, it immediately lifted its head and saw Zhang Ye looking at it with an awkward smile.
