Chapter 67 | The Otherworld Journey That Starts From a Slime

“Ye, this many Soul Essence Lamps should be enough, right?” Lina said, looking at the lamp belts on the ground with a look of pleasant surprise.

There were four belts in total, holding twelve Soul Essence Lamps. Two full ones belonged to Nan Long, two full ones belonged to Samanra, while Sabiba and Sacra each only had one full lamp.

Altogether, there were at least 18,000 soul essences!

That was worth over ten million points!

Adding in the three million plus points the two of them had already farmed, it totaled over twenty million!

That was an average of ten million points per person!

Lina’s small face flushed red with excitement.

However, Zhang Ye shook his head. “It’s not enough.”

“Tier Nine contestants like Nan Long and the others have extremely high farming efficiency. They can fill two lamps in half a day. If they farm without rest from now on, their final points will definitely reach twenty million. Not to mention, there are still other contestants we haven't robbed yet. Twenty or thirty million points is a safe bet for them.”

“The overall quality of this year’s freshmen is too high. Last year’s first place only had two million plus points, but this year it’s soared past twenty million...” Zhang Ye marveled before saying, “So, we can’t stop yet.”

“I estimate...”

“We need to reach a small goal!”

“A small goal?” Lina asked, looking confused. “How much is that?”

Zhang Ye held up a finger and chuckled. “One hundred million!”

Lina’s mouth hung open. “That much?!”

“Do the two of us really need that much?”

“There’s still one more person,” Zhang Ye said.

“Who?”

“My dear little brother-in-law,” Zhang Ye chuckled.

“What does ‘brother-in-law’ mean?” Lina asked.

Zhang Ye waved his hand. “Don't ask so many questions, kid. Let’s get down to business first.”

“Oh...”

Then Zhang Ye looked at Bolabo and asked, “You’re a local beast. Do you know where there are a lot of monsters?”

Bolabo was taken aback, but being smart, he quickly understood what Zhang Ye meant and nodded. “I know, I know! I know several large nests, and there are even Tier Ten Rock Beasts inside!”

“That great?” Zhang Ye said in surprise. “Then what are we waiting for? Lead the way!”

“You got it!” Bolabo immediately nodded. “Big brother, big sister-in-law, this way please!”

At this moment, he acted just like a sycophantic guide leading a foreign army into a village.

“Big sister-in-law?” Lina was stunned. Being smart, she quickly realized what the term meant, and her face turned red. “I-I’m not.”

Zhang Ye also gave Bolabo’s toe a tap. “What do you mean, ‘big sister-in-law’? Your big sister-in-law is outside the secret realm. Don’t go calling people that randomly!”

“Ow...” Bolabo clutched his toe, looking a bit aggrieved.

Then Zhang Ye led Lina and jumped onto Bolabo’s back, patting his carapace. “Let’s go.”

Bolabo was somewhat speechless. He had actually become a mount?

However, since he was under someone else's thumb, he had to bow his head. He had no choice but to carry the two people and the slime as he sprinted toward the Rock Beast nests, his speed not slow at all.

It was just that this guy’s back was a bit bumpy, so Zhang Ye condensed a grass vine rocking chair. This way, they could avoid the shaking. He and Lina sat comfortably in the chair, enjoying the scenery as they traveled.

On the way, Zhang Ye couldn't help but ask, “Hey, Bobo, does doing this count as betraying your own kind?”

Bolabo said weakly, “My name is Bolabo...”

“Alright, Bobo. Understood, Bobo,” Zhang Ye nodded.

Bolabo: “...It doesn’t count. Although I am also a Rock Beast, I’m not the same as those low-level magical beasts.”

“It’s like the difference between humans and monkeys. To me, they’re just monkeys,” Bolabo said. “Although I am still an Origin Rock Beast, I can actually take on a human form. It’s just that my beast form is stronger for combat and more comfortable.”

Zhang Ye nodded, indicating he understood.

This was why Bolabo referred to himself as ‘he’ instead of ‘it’!

“Hmm? There are people over there. Stop, stop! We have business!” Zhang Ye’s eyes suddenly lit up as he stared into the distance.

Lina looked over and immediately saw a dozen or so people working together to besiege a group of Tier Seven and Tier Eight Rock Beasts. Most of the group were Tier Seven, while the leaders were several Tier Eights.

Bolabo stopped immediately. Zhang Ye was cautious and had Bolabo hide first so they wouldn't be seen.

After all, he was an Origin Crystal Beast. If people saw Zhang Ye riding him, Rand would easily be able to track him down by asking around after they left.

Then, he leaped up and landed in front of the group. Without a word, he used 【Holy Light Shackles】 to bind them all.

Everyone: “???”

What the hell? They were in the middle of fighting monsters when they were suddenly locked down. Seeing the Rock Beasts charging fiercely toward them, everyone’s faces turned pale.

This is the end!

Fortunately, in the next moment, several light swords pierced through all the magical beasts. The soul essences flew up and merged into Zhang Ye’s body.

Only then did Zhang Ye land in front of the crowd, a warm smile on his face. “Hello there.”

Everyone was stunned. Then, the leaders, several mid-stage Tier Eights, looked quite displeased. “Who are you? Release us at once!”

“Don’t be in such a hurry. Let me finish my business first,” Zhang Ye said with a smile.

Business?

Everyone was confused. Then, they saw Zhang Ye run up to each of them one by one and strip the Soul Essence Lamps from their bodies.

Everyone: “!!!”

“What are you doing?!”

“Give me back my Soul Essence Lamp!”

“I’m a member of the Frost Family! Do you want to offend the Frost Family?!”

Some shouted in anger, some cursed, and some made threats, but none of it affected Zhang Ye’s joy of harvesting.

Looking at the glowing Soul Essence Lamps, Zhang Ye’s mouth under his helmet almost split open with laughter.

Although the quality of these people’s soul essences wasn't as high as those of the Tier Nine contestants, they made up for it in numbers. There were a lot of them.

With over a dozen people and thirty or forty lamps, the total number of soul essences added up to four or five thousand. It was a huge harvest!

“Alright, now let me give you all a briefing on the services of our Honor Among Thieves & Ethical Heists Co., Ltd.” After the robbery, Zhang Ye leisurely explained a series of newly expanded services, such as ‘One More Heist’ and ‘Second Heist Half-Price.’ He spoke with practiced ease.

The group was left dumbfounded.

“Alright, we look forward to your next heist~” Zhang Ye chuckled and waved to everyone.

Then, the group watched helplessly as Zhang Ye ran off.

A moment later, the Holy Light Shackles dissolved. Looking at their disheveled selves, they felt like crying but had no tears.

All their Soul Essence Lamps had been stolen. How were they supposed to keep playing?!

“Boss, what do we do now?” one examinee asked a late-stage Tier Eight examinee.

That examinee’s gaze was gloomy, and he wished he could tear Zhang Ye into ten thousand pieces.

But he wasn't stupid. He knew that someone who could instantly imprison all of them and kill dozens of Flame Rock Beasts in seconds was not someone they could handle.

Moreover, the person was wearing armor, so they couldn't see his face. They might not even be able to find him to get revenge.

He could only swallow this grievance.

“Dammit...” He gritted his teeth and said crossly, “What else can we do? We have to rob other examinees of their lamps!”

“That cursed guy, how dare he rob me, Andrea! Just you wait until I find you!”

“Otherwise, I’ll definitely make you pay!”

While some were angry, others were happy. Zhang Ye was the happiest of them all.

He was so happy that he even started humming a song: “Blow, blow, my pride and abandon, blow, but you won’t destroy my pure garden~”

His natural talent was excellent, and his voice was melodious and pleasant.

Back on Earth, after waking up with no memories, he hadn't known what to do. He wasn't short on money, so he had cultivated various hobbies like singing, playing the piano, guitar, and painting... With his powerful memory and learning ability, he was proficient in everything.

Now that his strength had increased and his breath was steadier, his singing was truly fantastic.

Lina’s eyes grew brighter and brighter as she listened.

“Ye, your singing is so beautiful!” Finally, after Zhang Ye finished a song, Lina exclaimed excitedly like a little fangirl.

Gujiu also chirped excitedly, “Gujiu, gujiu!”

Zhang Ye pressed his hands down. “It’s just basic stuff. Everyone, please sit down.”

Lina was confused; she hadn't stood up, had she?

However, her focus wasn't on that. She said excitedly, “Ye, can you teach me how to sing?”

“I feel like your singing is even better than the ladies from the Rhyme Family!”

“Is that so!” Zhang Ye laughed. “Sure, I’ll teach you when we get to the academy.”

“Mhm!”

“By the way, you mentioned the ladies from the Rhyme Family. Do they sing too?” Zhang Ye asked curiously.

Could there be something like girl groups in this world?

“Yeah, the Rhyme Family is a sound magic family. Their singing has magical power!”

“Magical power?” Zhang Ye was very curious. “Tell me about it.”

“I’m not entirely sure about the details, but I’ve heard Sister Paige from the Rhyme Family perform. Once, when the Lionheart Empire’s legion went to war, she was invited to perform to assist them. Her singing can inspire people and boost morale, and it can even increase people’s mental resistance for a period afterward.”

“The sound magic of the Rhyme Family is very miraculous. They can use their singing for support, but they can also use it to kill enemies.”

“Oh, Sister Paige also came to participate in the All Souls recruitment. If we’re lucky, we might even run into her!”

“I really like her!”

“It would be so great if I could marry her!” Stars sparkled in Lina’s eyes.

Zhang Ye was stunned. “Wasn't your goal Samanra?”

“Samanra is too fierce. Sister Paige is better,” Lina giggled. “Sister Paige is so gentle, and she’s very comfortable to hug. Plus, she’s bigger than Samanra. I really like her!”

Zhang Ye couldn't help but laugh. This girl was too interesting.

However, hearing this, his eyes also lit up.

That’s right, magic can also be attached to sound!

Just like the Blade-tail Tiger’s innate magic 【Metal-shaking Roar】 and Leona’s Tier Five fire magic 【Scorching Flame Roar】, both involved magic contained within sound.
