"Calm down. You are not worth my effort."
Although Furiel's words were extremely arrogant—enough to make any true dragon feel uncomfortable and annoyed—Gris still let out a secret sigh of relief.
Looking at the white wyrmling who was still unconsciously gnawing on the stone wall, he could not help but ask about his confusion.
"What... what is she doing?"
Furiel did not turn her head, quietly watching Jonavili's figure. It might have been an illusion, but Gris thought he saw the corners of Furiel's dragon muzzle turn up slightly.
"Sleepwalking."
"It is quite cute, isn't it?"
Gris's dragon eyes widened slightly. By the heavens, Tiamat above, look at this—is this something a chromatic dragon should say? Could a red dragon even utter such words? And what was with that faint trace of tenderness in her tone?
This was too abnormal. Was this even a red dragon anymore?
However, Gris bit the bullet and played along.
"Um, yes, it is indeed very... cute."
Strange, too strange. What was with this sense of déjà vu where the white dragon did not act like a white dragon, and the red dragon did not act like a red dragon?
"Don't you find her noisy?"
Gris asked again. Furiel turned her dragon head, her fiery-red vertical pupils staring at him.
Gris felt a chill run down his spine and rephrased his question.
"I mean, she is disturbing your rest like this. Doesn't it make you angry?"
"I am used to it."
Ugh... that reason was quite forced.
Gris hesitated, asking tentatively.
"That... don't you think Jonavili is... um, a bit strange?"
The crimson dragon eyes narrowed slightly, and a displeased voice followed.
"You have no right to speculate about her here. If you do something like this again, you will not want to know the consequences."
Even though those crimson dragon eyes looked like they could spit fire, Gris still saw a deep coldness within them.
Gris backed away a few steps. Seeing that Furiel had no intention of attacking, he breathed a sigh of relief and slowly lay down.
Hmph! If you won't say it, then don't. How stingy.
Grumbling internally, he slowly closed his eyes and fell into a deep sleep.
After an unknown amount of time, Jonavili woke up from her slumber. That familiar red figure was already gone; she did not even need to guess to know that she had gone out to hunt.
The black wyrmling seemed to have noticed her waking up and slowly raised his head.
Her crystal blue pupils shrank slightly. Why did it feel like he was even further away from her than before?
Forget it, it was probably just an illusion. The priority was to fill her stomach.
Jonavili stood up and looked at Gris.
"Sootball, do you want to have a feast?"
Hearing that nickname, Gris looked dissatisfied.
"Watch your wording. Although I..."
"Hmm?"
Jonavili's expression turned unfriendly. Gris's words stopped before they could even leave his mouth; he swallowed hard and sensibly shut his mouth.
"Let's go. I've had my eye on a prey for a long time. Since you've just arrived, I'll take you for a good meal."
After speaking, Jonavili flashed a mischievous smile, though it was quickly hidden.
Gris's stomach let out a protest at that moment. If there was free food, he might as well eat it.
The two dragons left the lair and flew toward the depths of the Buzau Plains.
After flying for about an hour, Jonavili led Gris to the middle region of the Buzau Plains. The number of magic beasts here was significantly higher, and their levels were better than those on the outskirts.
"Jonavili, are we there yet?"
By now, Gris's stomach was growling loudly. They had encountered many edible magic beasts along the way, but Jonavili had no intention of hunting them, which made him feel restless.
"Don't worry, don't worry. We're almost there."
Jonavili did not turn back, her dragon muzzle curling slightly.
Gris wanted to say more, but Jonavili spoke first.
"We're here."
Gris blinked and began to look around.
"Where?"
A white dragon claw pointed toward a giant tree, where a three-headed lion was resting.
Seeing the prey Jonavili mentioned, Gris was stunned, followed by a sense of speechlessness.
"Are you a lunatic or a fool?"
Gris could not be blamed for saying this, simply because Jonavili had chosen a high-tier magic beast as their target.
[Nine-headed Golden Lion: A high-tier magic beast. In its extreme old age, it can grow a ninth lion head, and its strength will reach the Legendary level. Generally, they possess single affinities such as lightning, fire, light, or earth. Special individuals may awaken two or more element affinities simultaneously.
They usually act alone. Their common attack methods include biting, charging, jumping, and tail lashes.
Their strength increases with the number of heads they grow. They possess intelligence comparable to an average human adult.
Innate abilities include Nine-Headed Roar (based on the current number of heads) and Protective Aura. Their resistance to their awakened element is significantly increased.]
Recalling the description from his draconic inheritance, Gris shook his dragon head and continued.
"He has already grown a third head, meaning he is at least at the Silver realm. Are you sure you want to provoke him?"
Jonavili's dragon eyes showed clear disdain.
"Heh, what is there to fear from a mere Silver realm creature?"
Hearing the white wyrmling's words, Gris was stunned. Should he expect nothing less from a white dragon? This intelligence...
Gris was only at the Bronze 5th Circle, and Jonavili was currently only at the Bronze 9th Circle. There was a whole major realm of difference. Even if dragons were naturally powerful, a nine-headed golden lion was a high-tier magic beast; it was not weak either.
If they were in the same realm, Gris was confident he could crush the nine-headed golden lion, but now, he felt it would be good enough just to survive its assault.
Dragons had the ability to fight across ranks, but that did not include him, Gris the black dragon. As for Jonavili the white dragon...
He would wait until her intelligence could function consistently before making a judgment.
Jonavili crooked her dragon finger, signaling Gris to come closer. Gris flew next to her suspiciously.
"What is it?"
Jonavili grinned.
"I have a plan. Listen closely."
"Mhm, mhm."
Though suspicious, Gris leaned his dragon head in, waiting for Jonavili's next words.
"You see..."
Duang!
A white hind leg kicked hard against Gris's backside, and the immense force sent him plummeting downward.
Although Gris could not figure out what Jonavili was trying to do, he still tried his best to maintain his balance.
Just as he was about to stabilize himself, a linear Frost Breath hit him, causing Gris to lose his balance completely.
The golden lion, which had only grown three heads, seemed to sense something and slowly opened its eyes. Before it could react, a large black backside was already flying toward its face.
Bang!
Gris's butt slammed hard into the golden lion's main head, leaving the beast dazed and seeing stars.
But what followed was boundless rage. What was going on? He was just sleeping; why did a backside suddenly fly into his face?
After the six-meter-long three-headed golden lion recovered, it finally saw what had hit it. But upon discovering it was a black dragon wyrmling, its six eyes instantly cleared. It instinctively looked around, wanting to flee, but it did not see the expected adult dragon.
