Chapter 21 | They Called Me the Dumbest Dragon, So I Paused Time and Built an Empire

Gris tilted his dragon head, a look of confusion on his face.

"At the end of his rope? What does that mean?"

He understood the part about a desperate final counterattack, but he really couldn't grasp the meaning of being at the end of one's rope; it wasn't recorded in his draconic inheritance at all.

Jonavili curled her dragon muzzle; this really was an illiterate dragon.

"Don't worry about it, just do as I say."

"Uh... alright then."

To take down this lion, Gris reluctantly agreed.

"Good, then we'll charge together in a moment. You go attract his attention—just a feint—and I'll be the main attacker."

Gris frowned.

"Why? Why are you the main attacker and not me?"

"..."

'Can we have a little self-awareness, please? You, the main attacker? With that pathetic attack power of yours, tsk tsk tsk.'

Though she grumbled internally, Jonavili still nodded on the surface.

"Fine, fine, since you're so amazing, you attack then. Look at how capable you think you are."

"You!"

Hearing the disdain in Jonavili's tone, Gris wanted to say something, but the words died in his throat.

"Hmph~ The mighty Gris won't stoop to your level. Just keep up with my offensive rhythm."

"Yes, yes, yes."

Jonavili looked indifferent. Then, the two wyrmlings charged toward the three-headed golden lion from the left and right.

The three-headed golden lion, having recovered slightly, prepared for battle.

When they were only ten meters away, Jonavili suddenly shouted.

"Gris!"

Gris instinctively looked back, and that very movement caused his running stride to falter. Jonavili instantly lunged forward and grabbed Gris's tail.

Before Gris could react, Jonavili gripped his tail and performed a Thomas flare on the spot, using the centrifugal force to hurl him toward the three-headed golden lion.

"Fire in the hole!"

She then unleashed a powerful linear breath directly at Gris's large backside.

'Come on then, let's clash!'

At such a close distance and such high speed, if the lion didn't swat Gris away, he would be sent reeling from the impact. As for Gris, at most, it would be a bit inconvenient for him to take a dump for the next few days, but the high magic resistance provided by his dragon scales would definitely prevent him from being too seriously injured.

If the lion did swat him away, even better—the highly piercing, powerful breath would be enough to give the lion a run for his money. After all, the lion didn't have the high magic resistance of a dragon.

Facing such a shameless and underhanded tactic, the three-headed golden lion didn't even have time to think before colliding with Gris in a daze.

Meanwhile, Gris's large black backside was hit dead-on by the linear breath. The powerful impact caused Gris to let out a wretched howl.

"Yaaahoooo!!!"

At that moment, experiencing his rear being blasted, Gris felt as if he saw Tiamat, Mother of Evil Dragons, smiling and beckoning to him from the Divine Kingdom. Her eyes seemed to say, "Come, child, the Evil Dragon Divine Kingdom welcomes you."

The three-headed golden lion was knocked back, and a white dragon shadow lunged before him, instantly opening her dragon muzzle and biting into the neck of his main head. The brown mane was dyed red with blood.

Dragon claws like steel blades stabbed into the necks of the other two lion heads.

The fear of death made the three-headed golden lion struggle desperately, but it was all in vain. Jonavili was like a nail driven into his body; no matter how he thrashed, he couldn't shake her off.

A minute later, with a loud crash, the golden lion fell powerlessly to the ground, his yellow vertical pupils filled with resentment.

He died just like that, dying so pathetically at the hands of wyrmlings who were a whole realm lower than himself.

Seeing that the golden lion finally had no signs of life, Jonavili slowly released her bite.

Her blood-splattered white dragon head rose high, looking at the dead three-headed golden lion as she curled her muzzle into a cruel smile. Combined with her draconic appearance, it looked even more terrifying.

"Truly troublesome. However, before the great Jonavili, any struggle is nothing more than a death rattle."

As she spoke, she stuck out her dragon tongue and licked the area where she had been bitten. After all this time, the wound had already healed.

She wasn't in a hurry to eat the three-headed golden lion. After all, as a high-tier magic beast, its mana content was extremely high; to put it simply, it was more filling.

She looked at the little black dragon slumped like a dead dog to the side and gave him a kick with her claw.

"Hey, stop playing dead. Get up and eat."

There was no response. Gris had spent all his energy just to roll his dragon eyes.

There was nothing he could do; the aftereffects of having his rear blasted were too strong, and he still hadn't recovered.

Seeing him like this, Jonavili awkwardly turned her head away.

'Ehehe~ looks like I might have overdone it a bit.'

But then, she extended her front claw, carved off a large piece of meat, and stuffed it into Gris's mouth.

Her white claws grabbed his dragon muzzle, moving it up and down to help him manually chew.

This large piece of meat was soon swallowed into Gris's stomach. With the intake of energy, his injuries began to improve at a visible rate. In just a few minutes, he had mostly recovered, except for his rear, which still burned with pain.

As soon as he recovered, Gris prepared to settle the score.

"You cursed Jonavili! I'm going to kill you!"

He regretted it the moment he said it, because a powerful white hind claw was already stepping on his face. A hostile glint flashed in Jonavili's eyes.

"What did you say?"

"Jona..."

Duang!

Jonavili clenched her claw into a fist and slammed it onto Gris's head.

"If the hunt had failed, I wouldn't have held your insults against you. But now that we've successfully hunted a high-tier magic beast, what should you call me?"

His dark dragon eyes darted around as he calculated in his mind. Although she had used him and he had been injured, the meat of this high-tier magic beast was delicious, and eating it provided certain benefits.

Once he figured it out, Gris put on a fawning, greedy smile.

"Hehehe~ Big Sister, you're my dear big sister, hehe~"

"Oh~ so this little black dragon isn't stupid after all."

Jonavili smiled and released her claw. Gris quickly stood up, grinning.

"Uh, Big Sister, so can we now..."

He didn't finish the sentence, instead winking frantically toward the corpse of the three-headed golden lion. Jonavili nodded her dragon head, signaling that they could begin.

Gris immediately pounced onto the magic beast's corpse and began devouring it. Jonavili walked over slowly and sat down beside him, beginning to eat gracefully.
