Chapter 34 | They Called Me the Dumbest Dragon, So I Paused Time and Built an Empire

"Alright~ Then let's have the most pleasant mealtime together, rawr~"

With her words finished, Jonavili dismissed the privacy barrier, just as Medusa arrived with a line of monsters carrying delicious roasted meat.

Gris gave a cold snort, as if acting out of spite, tearing into the roasted meat with large bites while glaring at Jonavili from time to time, as if he were eating her flesh instead.

Enjoying Gris's "dragon-eating" gaze, Jonavili felt as if a filter had been added to the food before her, making it smell even more fragrant.

However, her movements were elegant as she condensed a pair of ice crystal chopsticks, preparing to pick up a piece.

Suddenly, she felt the gaze fixed on her change.

Jonavili looked over and found both Furiel and Gris staring with eyes full of confusion.

"Hmm? What is it? Is something strange?"

As she spoke, Jonavili used the chopsticks to pick up a piece of roasted meat, popped it into her mouth, and chewed with great relish.

"Mmm~ (a sigh of pleasure), nothing's wrong, it's quite delicious."

Furiel and Gris looked at each other, both seeing the confusion in the other's eyes.

Gris was the first to lose his patience and pointed a small finger.

"What is that thing you're holding?"

Jonavili paused, looking at the ice crystal chopsticks in her hand, only then realizing that this wasn't her original world; she had transmigrated, and in this Western medieval fantasy world, there were no such utensils as chopsticks.

Jonavili swallowed the meat in her mouth and said casually.

"This? These are chopsticks, a type of utensil humans use when eating."

Furiel frowned, even more confused; there was no such thing in the inheritance memories.

Gris asked again.

"There's no such human utensil in our inheritance memories."

Jonavili gave a disdainful smile.

"Heh, you country bumpkins, you really haven't seen the world, have you? I saw these in a remote village before I met you; they're very convenient to use.

Although the inheritance memories are vast, times are constantly progressing. It's normal for new things to appear that you don't know about."

Gris nodded skeptically.

"Is that so?"

"As a great white dragon, would I lie to you? Besides, this thing has many uses. When dealing with small pieces of food, it's more flexible and convenient than a knife and fork.

Don't believe me? Why don't you try?"

After speaking, Jonavili condensed another pair of chopsticks and handed them to Gris.

Gris took them, looking at the two thin ice sticks in his hand, completely unsure of how to use them.

"How do you use these?"

"Tsk... so stupid."

Jonavili demonstrated for Gris a few times.

Dragons had naturally strong learning abilities; after watching Jonavili's demonstration a few times, Gris felt that his brain had already mastered it.

He tried to mimic Jonavili's posture and grip the chopsticks, and then... crack.

Gris used too much force and snapped them right in the middle.

His small hand stayed frozen in the air for a few seconds before he tossed them aside.

"Pah~ this thing isn't as good as using my hands. Look at Furiel; are those things more convenient than her claws?"

Furiel had long since grabbed several large legs and begun tearing into them, and Gris likewise picked up a beef leg, feasting greedily.

Looking at these two gluttons, Jonavili shook her head.

"Truly barbaric."

However, the limitations of chopsticks were evident; the amount of food they could pick up at once was too small, not nearly enough to keep up with her appetite, and so...

The three dragons began their formal feast.

...

As the pleasant days passed one by one, Jonavili had settled into a life of eating until full and sleeping until rested, occasionally reminiscing about the good life in her hometown.

Under such a relaxed and cozy lifestyle, a month passed in a flash.

The scorching sun hung high in the sky, spreading its heat to the world.

Feeling the dry, hot air, Jonavili's small face was written with impatience.

Originally, she had planned to go back and lie down like a corpse after eating her fill, but Xiao Shunzi had suddenly run over to tell her that they had conquered a rather special tribe and wanted to invite her to take a look.

Since she had nothing better to do anyway, Jonavili agreed.

However, she hadn't expected the sun at two in the afternoon to be so fierce. Even though Medusa was constantly condensing tiny ice crystal particles to cool her down, the sweltering air still made this white dragon feel extremely irritable.

Meanwhile, Medusa looked as if she were walking on eggshells. After all, her cute master had been wearing a stern face the whole time, so she could only do her best to condense ice crystal particles, fearing that Jonavili might sentence her to death if she became unhappy.

Fortunately, she was 1.9 meters tall, so it was quite easy to scatter ice crystals over a little shrimp like Jonavili, who was only about 1.4 meters tall, without getting too tired.

Soon, Xiao Shunzi, who was leading the way, said respectfully.

"Great Master, we have arrived."

Looking at the cluster of wooden buildings not far away, Jonavili nodded.

"Let's go. Let's see how special it is."

Xiao Shunzi followed by Jonavili's side, and soon, the three of them arrived outside the village.

The place was already surrounded by a group of White Crystal knights, and the residents of the tribe had been gathered together.

They huddled together, their bodies trembling as they looked fearfully at the White Crystal knights surrounding them.

Seeing the appearance of these residents, Jonavili's eyes lit up, and without even realizing it herself, her pace began to quicken.

Demi-humans! And a group of cute demi-humans based on human forms with beast ears and beast tails, numbering at least a hundred by her estimate.

Seeing Jonavili's arrival, the subordinates all bowed.

"Greetings, Great Master!"

Their words drew the attention of the demi-humans, who couldn't help but freeze upon seeing who the newcomer was.

A little girl, a little girl who looked like a noble princess stepped out of a fairy tale.

Demi-human races naturally had an affinity for beautiful things, but for some reason, a deep-seated fear in their bloodlines filled them as they faced this little girl.

While they were sizing up Jonavili, Jonavili was also sizing them up.

To be honest, as creatures she had been immersed in through various fantasy works in her past life, seeing them appear before her eyes like this, it would be a lie to say Jonavili wasn't excited.

Seeing the slight upward curve of Jonavili's lips, Xiao Shunzi knew he had made the right bet; his master indeed liked these beautiful and cute humanoid creatures.

But the gaze of these demi-humans was far too impolite, actually staring directly at his great master like that, which caused Xiao Shunzi to bark an angry reprimand on the spot.
