Chapter 50 | They Called Me the Dumbest Dragon, So I Paused Time and Built an Empire

"If he doesn't listen, take this out."

Jonavili said as she plucked a white dragon scale and threw it to Medusa.

Medusa caught it hurriedly, her previous fear not yet dissipated, so her voice trembled as she replied.

"Yes... gre... great master..."

"Enough, no need for extra words. Take me there directly."

"Yes..."

Medusa placed the scale into her spatial ring and, after walking out of the cave with Jonavili, bowed once more.

"Please... please follow... follow me, Master."

With those words, white dragon wings sprouted from Medusa's back as she flew toward White Crystal City, with Jonavili following close behind.

The two arrived at a field in the outskirts, where a massive wooden house stood, looking completely out of place with its surroundings.

Jonavili felt that it could probably accommodate her true form, though squeezing in might burst the wooden structure.

Jonavili transformed into her human form and floated inside.

The interior decoration was simple, resembling a warehouse.

In the center was a long wooden table and several stools, while against one wall, the fruits and wheat Jonavili required were neatly stacked.

Everything was already bagged, though it looked like it wouldn't last long before rotting.

On the other side of the long table were two large pots.

Seeing these two pots, Jonavili remembered that different raw materials required different processing methods.

She blindly guessed that Medusa thought one pot wouldn't be enough and prepared a spare, not realizing Jonavili intended to use both.

"Perfect. One for steaming the wheat, and the other for boiling the fruit-based raw materials.

Hmm~ not bad. Combined with my [Chrono Surge], I won't even need to worry about the fermentation process."

At this thought, Jonavili felt an inexplicable sense of joy. Although the chemical knowledge she had learned in high school could likely be used for brewing, it was all just theoretical and had never been put into practice.

Now that she was about to start brewing personally, Jonavili was actually quite excited.

Jonavili rubbed her hands together, looking eager to try. Then, she seemed to think of something; whether the brew was good or not would require someone to taste it, otherwise how would she know if it was successful?

Tasting it herself was impossible; Jonavili didn't want to use herself as a guinea pig.

Her gaze fell upon Medusa. On the way here, she had already cast calmness magic on her head maid, and she had now completely regained her composure.

After looking at Medusa for a few moments, Jonavili shook her head.

"No, your poison resistance isn't high enough. Even with the boost from dragon blood, you might still get poisoned."

After thinking for a moment, Jonavili had a candidate in mind.

If she were to talk about the guy least likely to be poisoned to death, she had two dragon candidates available.

One was Furiel, and the other was Gris.

As dragons, unless they encountered a green dragon, being poisoned to death by such a small amount of poison would truly be a laughingstock among dragons.

Furiel went without saying; Jonavili felt it would be a bit troublesome to invite her, but as for Gris...

"Hehe-hehe-hehe-hehe..."

"Dealing with that idiot won't be as easy as pie?"

...

"Big sis! Big sis! Where's the delicious food you mentioned?"

The sound of a massive object landing came from outside the door. Before he was even seen, Gris's voice preceded him as he pushed the door open, his face filled with gluttonous excitement.

Gris, who had transformed into human form, looked around and discovered a large quantity of fruit and wheat, the excitement on his face receding like a tide.

"Just these rotten fruits? I thought it was something else."

Jonavili ignored Gris. Seeing that Jonavili wasn't paying attention to him, Gris walked to her side and looked at the jars and bottles on the table, as well as some strange devices he didn't understand, his heart filled with confusion.

"Big sis, what are you doing here?"

Jonavili turned her head, a smile of a successful conspiracy appearing on her face. At that moment, Medusa, who followed behind, closed the wooden door with a bang.

"Big sis... you... you called me here to eat, right?"

The smile on Jonavili's face grew even wider. In the next second, the main door was sealed with ice. Jonavili pressed one hand onto Gris's head, the hand slowly transforming into a white dragon claw. The powerful force gave Gris the illusion that Jonavili was about to crush his head.

"My dearest brother, your big sister has run into a bit of trouble. I believe you will definitely help me, right?"

A bad premonition surfaced in his heart and grew stronger. Gris swallowed hard and gave a sheepish smile.

"Well, big sis, what are you saying? I'll definitely help you."

Jonavili restrained her aura, released her hand, and patted Gris on the shoulder, giving him a look that said, 'I knew I could count on you.'

Gris didn't know what that look was about, assuming it was just Jonavili's strange old habit acting up again.

Over the next month, Jonavili continuously began brewing alcohol.

But without exception, the alcohol brewed during this period either emitted a strange stench or was a biological weapon.

Of course, the worst part was Gris. He had completely become Jonavili's guinea pig. In just one month, he had fainted over a hundred times from tasting the alcohol Jonavili brewed, each time turning belly-up.

He even sometimes had an illusion—that his brother-pitting sister had somehow obtained the poisonous breath of a green dragon and quietly added it in to kill him.

Repeated tastings made Gris go from being extremely resistant at the beginning to reluctant, and now to a state of numbness.

However, tasting it again and again, day after day, caused Gris's poison resistance to increase significantly. He didn't know if this was a so-called blessing in disguise.

"Come, my lovely brother, drain this cup of wine!"

Looking at Gris, who was numb and lying spread-eagle on the ground, trapped within ice crystals, Jonavili walked up to him holding a glass jar.

She could clearly see the slight resistance in Gris's eyes, but it was all useless now. It wasn't that he hadn't thought of running away, but the result was as it was now—the entire dragon was frozen in ice, with only his head exposed.
