Meanwhile, in the Regris Forest.
In the lands that Vienna had recently seized by relying on green dragon 'wisdom'.
Two green dragons lay on trees, preparing for a perfect ambush.
"Achoo!"
Vienna couldn't help but sneeze, making Deldi frown.
"Vienna, be qui—...
Achoo!"
Before Deldi could finish, he also couldn't resist letting out a sneeze.
"Who's cursing us?"
"I feel like someone's watching us."
"Could we have been exposed?"
"How is that possible? It's definitely an illusion."
...
Furiel crushed the head of the last lizardman with one claw, the numerous monsters having been swiftly annihilated by this young red dragon's thunderous methods.
The lingering excitement on Furiel's draconic head did not fade; she flexed her claws, seemingly unsatisfied.
None of the green dragon-kin survived, and Jonavili watched all this happen without much emotion.
As for why she didn't take them in as kin? The reason was simple: first, if Vienna and the others really wanted revenge, they could track their location at any time through these kin.
Second, Jonavili was not a trash recycling station that took in just anything.
Third, she didn't like the look of these guys, as they were the kin of those two annoying fellows.
Whoosh—
Boom!
Jonavili landed beside Furiel, catching the expression on her face.
"Jonavili, do you want to..."
"No."
One didn't need to guess to know what Furiel was going to say; it was nothing more than her feeling the urge and wanting Jonavili to spar with her.
But Jonavili had no interest right now; with so many green dragon-kin here, and having heard what that hawkman said earlier, it meant this was definitely the lair of those two guys.
"Are we going to meet again so soon?"
Jonavili felt her claws itch, and under Furiel's puzzled gaze, she walked quickly into the cave.
Unexpectedly, there were no familiar figures in sight, though it made sense; if they were here, they would have appeared long ago.
"Are they lurking in the shadows?"
Jonavili spread her perception but didn't sense any dragons; even so, she didn't lower her guard, as any intelligent creature knew the nature of green dragons.
This was a dragon's nest, but that wasn't the most important part; what mattered was that this nest was built suspended in the air at the very back.
Below the nest was the source of the elemental fluctuations.
Jonavili landed on the nest and found quite a few mana crystals piled inside, a discovery that made her face light up with joy.
Mana crystals had many uses: they could be absorbed to restore depleted mana, used for alchemy, equipment enchanting, and were a direct currency used throughout the continent.
Jonavili picked up a lightning element mana crystal, which flickered with occasional arcs of purple electricity.
Generally speaking, the electrical arcs on such lightning element mana crystals would conduct into the holder's body, making them feel numb and tingly.
However, as a dragon, Jonavili's scales were the best insulator.
Jonavili remained alert to her surroundings at all times, which made her even more puzzled.
A dragon would never allow anyone to approach their treasure, let alone pick it up like Jonavili just did.
This behavior was more serious than an intentional provocation; normally, both sides would have a violent clash, resulting in heavy injuries at the very least.
"Have they already left?"
Jonavili couldn't quite figure out why they would leave; although green dragons were more treacherous and cunning than black dragons, it didn't mean they were weak.
On the contrary, among the chromatic dragons, none were weak species.
At that moment, the sound of leather flapping against the air arrived, and a fiery red draconic shadow landed beside her.
Furiel took in Jonavili's reaction, leading to a bold guess in her heart.
"What are you testing? Do you know the dragons who used to live here?"
Jonavili snapped out of it, clearing the messy thoughts from her mind and putting the lightning element mana crystal into her draconic snout.
Whatever, she would focus on improving herself first; any schemes or plots were just petty tricks in the face of true strength.
"You could say I know them, but I wouldn't call it a good memory."
Furiel nodded thoughtfully; she could guess with her tail what would happen when Jonavili, as a white dragon, stayed with two cunning green dragons.
Furiel picked up a fire element mana crystal, looked it over, and handed it to Jonavili.
Jonavili was stunned and looked at Furiel in confusion.
Furiel's expression remained unchanged as she said solemnly.
"Increase your mana capacity and speed up."
Realization dawned on Jonavili as she took the mana crystal and swallowed it in one gulp.
A hot sensation spread through her mouth as the hard stone was easily crushed by her sharp draconic teeth, making a crunching sound.
"Furiel, I think you should eat some too; after all, this stuff might improve you, like your flame concentration."
"Although the probability isn't high, it should at least increase your mana capacity a little, or perhaps your scale hardness."
Dragons eating ores could improve their scale hardness and defense, though the effect varied.
Generally, chromatic dragons eating ores could improve, but the effect wasn't very strong; it would, however, cause elemental attachment to the corresponding elemental scales.
In contrast, the effect of metallic dragons eating ores of their corresponding element was more obvious; they were born with a metallic texture, and eating them would refine the texture of their scales, making them harder and more defensive, far exceeding the bonuses chromatic dragons gained from eating ores.
Therefore, generally speaking, within the same realm, chromatic dragons could not beat metallic dragons.
Though they were unwilling to admit it, this was an indisputable fact and a cruel reality.
Even the red dragon, the head of the chromatic dragons, was suppressed by the gold dragon, the head of the metallic dragons.
However, the gold dragon's strength stemmed from its own off-the-charts stats.
Furiel was about to refuse Jonavili's suggestion, but she seemed to think of something and nodded after a moment of hesitation.
'Nothing should be rushed; it's better to improve steadily.'
Thinking this, Furiel nodded.
"Fine, then I'll only take 90% of the fire element mana crystals."
Hearing this, Jonavili's expression froze, followed by shock.
What the...? I was just being polite and you're taking everything?
"I think I need 40%; after all, fire element mana crystals are a rare resource."
For once, Furiel wasn't stingy and nodded.
"Fine."
Then, Jonavili pointed a draconic finger downward.
"There's good stuff down there. Want to go down and take a look?"
Furiel looked toward the ground; this was a flat dragon nest, but she knew it was built suspended, with a bottomless cave below.
As for why it was bottomless? Because her perception couldn't reach the end.
Furiel nodded her draconic head and spread her wings.
"Let's go."
The two dragons flew toward the edge of the nest, and within seconds, they saw the bottomless pit below.
Adjusting their positions, one red and one white dove toward the depths.
'Xiao Shunzi, Medusa, lead the White Crystal knights to transport these mana crystals back to White Crystal City.'
'Yes, Great Master.'
The two dragons were extremely fast and soon disappeared into the darkness.
After flying for an unknown amount of time, Jonavili and Furiel looked at each other, seeing astonishment in each other's draconic eyes.
