2. The Clearwillow Lake frontline.
This front was primarily composed of Swimmers in the water and a small number of Floating Hive Bugs.
They were currently in a state of mutual torment with that giant squid.
The result, of course, was that the squid was being worn out while the insects suffered significant numerical losses.
But the Swimmers were cheap.
In any case, Xia Jin could afford the consumption on this front.
She even began sending a batch of locusts underwater to pad the numbers, drawing the giant squid's attention and draining its stamina.
After all, no matter how cheap a Swimmer was, it still cost dozens of energy points and occupied larva production capacity.
3. The west bank of Clearwillow Lake, the front against the gnolls.
The gnolls had retreated dozens of kilometers and were still being hunted down.
As the flight distance increased, the scale of the fleeing crowds expanded rapidly.
If the more than 100,000 routed troops were to unite and reorganize their resistance, Xia Jin's ten thousand insects, plus the cannon fodder bugs and the few tens of thousands of useless troops held by the lords, would have to honestly stop their pursuit.
Fortunately, the enemy had already broken beyond recovery.
Therefore, Xia Jin no longer needed to distract herself with this side; she only needed to use the remaining insects to continuously wear down the enemy.
If she could send locusts to their deaths, she would not deploy a single zergling.
It was purely a war of attrition using cannon fodder.
4. Slow expansion north of the territory and west of the Glowing Forest.
Aside from a major battle two days ago against several magic beast kings west of the Glowing Forest, nothing particularly special had happened since.
Thus, she used a few thousand insects to slowly hunt magic beasts in this area while they queued up to level up.
One could only say that as expected of a magical world, the resources were so abundant that they supported an unimaginably high number of creatures.
...
"It seems there are too many frontlines now."
The painful lesson of a certain power's two-front war in history naturally left a deep impression on Xia Jin.
However, given that the pressure on most of the current frontlines was not high, she no longer needed to pay them excessive attention.
The main threat came from the Kingdom.
Looking only at the rank of the soldiers in the Kingdom's main force, Tier 3 and Tier 4 accounted for more than half.
But if one were to judge their combat effectiveness based solely on this, they would definitely suffer a great loss.
First, their mage legions could boost the overall strength of the soldiers by a massive margin.
Furthermore, the Tier 6 individuals within those legions could reach ten percent.
This meant that in a legion of 10,000 people, they could field 1,000 Tier 6 powerhouses. To raise such a unit, they had essentially drained the supply of experts from across the entire country.
There were also various other weapons, including scrolls, cannons, and the like.
Not to mention the famous Griffin Legion and Falcon Legion.
And the magic beast units (domesticated beasts).
In short, it was a very tough nut to crack.
For such a decisive battle, the Zerg had already begun to gradually reduce their consumption.
In many directions, the advance had been slowly replaced by swarm hosts.
Although the efficiency was low, the cannon fodder was cheap.
By relying on these, they could hunt large numbers of magic beasts and ordinary wild animals, storing their energy to produce more of the primary Swarm units.
But in reality, when thinking carefully, the cost of swarm hosts was still particularly high. Xia Jin would only produce a portion of them to maintain the frontlines or use them as tools for line-filling and distracting the enemy.
In short... as long as it was enough.
Against truly powerful experts, their role was very limited.
They were more for causing chaos for the enemy.
When the war with the Kingdom came, those secondary reserve units could be stalled by the locust army, preventing those guys from coordinating with their main force to cause greater damage to the primary Swarm.
...
While the Zerg units were slowly being incubated, Xia Jin's final projection was also successfully created.
This could be considered the first Queen’s Projection to have black hair.
The hair was shorter than the previous ones, reaching roughly to her shoulders.
Her figure remained very slender and petite.
While the true body wore white silks, this body was dressed entirely in black silks.
Initially, she wore a sailor suit, but later Xia Jin felt the hem of the skirt was too short, so she lengthened it slightly.
"Very good."
She planned to use this body to head toward the Kingdom, specifically to see if she could sneak into the capital's court to assess the situation.
She still had some memories of the royal palace in her mind.
She roughly knew where the defenses were weakest.
But even so, it would be as difficult as reaching the heavens for an ordinary person to sneak in.
"I'll use the power of the Zerg."
The central part of the royal palace contained a vast mountainous area, which usually had very few people.
Xia Jin directly took an infestor and a zergling, preparing to head to the Kingdom's capital through the mountain forests.
The original plan was to bring a queen, the most critical reason being that a queen could spread creep and provide healing.
But on second thought, if she encountered danger while out this time, she could just self-destruct. After all, she could afford to lose a single projection now.
Conversely, bringing too many insects increased the risk. Once discovered, it would alert the Kingdom's officials prematurely, allowing them to make more preparations.
...
Sitting personally on the back of the zergling, she lightly kicked its head with her foot. The creature immediately began to stride forward at full speed.
The infestor's speed was slower, and it completely failed to keep up with the zergling's pace.
Seeing this, Xia Jin had the zergling slow down slightly.
Fortunately, it didn't actually take very long.
At their current speed, they could cover about 50 kilometers in an hour.
After a day and a night, she was already in a mountainous area over a thousand kilometers away.
"As expected, I've seen many marching columns on the way."
The Kingdom's reaction was indeed more intense than imagined.
This proved they must have obtained quite detailed intelligence from Amelo's territory.
Of course, Xia Jin had already strengthened her control. It was basically impossible for anyone to successfully take new information out of her territory now.
