Two days later, as the Swarm's breeding focus gradually shifted back to land, the production speed of underwater species began to slow down.
During this time, twenty thousand people from the Kingdom were conscripted to help build ships. The quality requirements were not particularly high; they only needed to be sturdy enough to support the movements of the Zerg and not fall apart under the acceleration of the jet propulsion bugs.
As for resisting storms, that was not considered at all, as they might only be used for a short duration.
In total, more than a thousand small boats were launched.
Stretching as far as the eye could see, they were mostly small vessels ranging from ten to thirty meters in length.
Ensuring safety, each boat carried five to thirty Zerg.
This wave sent twelve thousand zerglings directly to the front lines.
By this time, the first batch of zerglings had already approached the shore.
...
Currently, on the island inhabited by the primitive tribe.
This was a large island running north south, narrow in the middle and wider at both ends, spanning nearly one thousand eight hundred kilometers from the southernmost to the northernmost point.
To the north of this large island, just a few kilometers away, was another island of tens of thousands of square kilometers. To the south was a dense archipelago, and on either side were small islands too tiny to be drawn on a map.
At this moment, on the northern side of the large island, in a place with many wooden structures, many people were standing.
Suddenly, someone pointed toward the distant sea.
“Ships! Ships!”
Some people watched the distant scene with surprise and excitement.
However, as the ships approached within a kilometer of the shore, many finally noticed what exactly was on those vessels.
Monsters!
Yes, they were all monsters.
Their appearance was terrifying, like demons crawling out of hell, with fangs and horrifying large eyes, staring at the shore from afar.
A few elf bugs stood among them, though they were difficult to notice.
“Attack!”
Xia Jin gave the command remotely, and several elf bugs immediately drew their bows, firing arrows toward the shore.
The future of the primitive tribe was bound to be tragic. Their development was too slow; even if the Swarm hadn't arrived, given the Empire's behavior, this island would have been wiped out sooner or later.
Similar cruel scenes were even more common in the cosmic stage.
Interestingly, once civilizations entered the universe, they tended to tear off their masks completely. Yet within a planet, they would sometimes spare backward natives for the sake of so called civilization.
The Swarm's objective was simple: resources.
As the Zerg jumped into the water, the people on the shore, dressed in vine and grass clothing, suddenly let out shrieks and cries of alarm.
Some raised primitive bows and arrows, launching attacks at the distance.
Even from Xia Jin's perspective, their strength was considerable.
An arrow actually flew six or seven hundred meters through sheer brute force.
Unfortunately, against the increasing number of zerglings jumping into the water and swimming rapidly toward the shore, those human attacks had no effect.
Starting at Tier 6, they couldn't even break through the Zerg's defense.
The elf bugs were even more decisive. As the zerglings entered the water and the ships drifted closer, magical light radiated from their hands, eventually converging into brilliant light arrows that flew in from the distance.
Boom!
Each elven arrow, even if it missed its target, produced a massive explosion, blasting chunks of earth into the sky.
The tribespeople fell in rows.
Some men raised their weapons and rushed to the shore without fear, baring their teeth in anger.
Meanwhile, the weaker or less courageous ones began to flee in a panic.
“Are those rushing to the shore the warriors of this tribe?”
They wore only loincloths and held low quality spears, lacking any iron tools.
It seemed this island had been isolated for a long time.
However, Xia Jin soon noticed a few people with iron swords running from a distance.
She speculated that those were pieces of equipment left by people who had landed here previously.
This wave of archery from the elf bugs truly highlighted the technological gap.
Most interestingly, as the zerglings approached the shore, she actually heard a tribal warrior shout.
“You hateful bastards, you've come again, and you've brought monsters!”
“Again?”
Xia Jin realized she was taking the blame for the soldiers of the countries that had come before... No, it couldn't really be called taking the blame, as the Zerg were clearly far more terrifying than the people of the Empire.
Soon, several zerglings reached the shore and launched the first wave of the charge.
One Zerg instantly sent the foremost warrior flying, then bit down with a sharp crunch, biting someone's head clean off.
Sharp blades swung, and the resolute tribal warriors were instantly sliced in half. The Zerg then led the charge, rampaging toward the crowds further away.
The zerglings were too fast, charging all the way without pause.
As more of them landed, they began attacking the entire island in small squads.
The hydralisks on the ships behind them also began firing bone spines toward the land.
These were toxic explosive spines. Upon hitting a target, they could essentially penetrate an entire human body and would only explode into a large amount of venom when hitting a solid rock.
An ordinary person would melt in just a few seconds upon contact with the venom.
In a single encounter, the group of warriors in the coastal area completely collapsed. The Swarm then began its pursuit, prepared to annihilate all resistors and any enemies capable of fighting back.
