Chapter 222 | What If I Transformed Into the Zerg Queen?

At the conference table.

Looking at the beautiful girls sitting across from them, the officials of the Yelu Empire were more or less distracted.

However, these negotiations were indeed critical.

After seeing the battle reports submitted by the Zerg and analyzing the performance of the Empire's fighters, the Yelu Empire did not immediately express an intention to ally.

They continued to use "abandoning the Mis Kingdom" as a bargaining chip, demanding that the Zerg cooperate in evacuating the region after the war. Otherwise, they claimed, "it would be difficult for both parties to trust each other in a partnership."

The Zerg side, after careful consideration, ultimately did not state a position on the matter.

As expected, just as the envoys were preparing to leave, the Yelu Empire softened their stance.

While the Zerg were under pressure, the Yelu Empire's pressure was even greater. Especially with their main naval forces having been defeated multiple times, there was no point in continuing to stall with the Zerg.

If the Swarm couldn't hold the line, Yelu would be the next to suffer. They had to drive the Empire's army out of this land.

"The issue of the Mis Kingdom will be set aside for now. For the time being, we are willing to launch joint operations with the Zerg. Our main force will enter the Mis Kingdom to cooperate with you in striking the enemy."

"Acceptable."

The elf bug signed the contract with the other party.

The Yelu Empire remained very wary of the Swarm, but the current situation left them with no other choice.

Soon, the Zerg opened their borders, allowing a portion of the Yelu main force into their territory.

Their first wave of troops numbered roughly 30,000. They had partially utilized the fruits of magic technology, but they still primarily relied on swords and spears for combat.

Such strength was far greater than that of the former Kingdom of Clear, but compared to the current Dawn Empire, the technological gap was far too severe.

After some discussion, the two sides began joint combat operations.

Disposable units like scourges provided reconnaissance intelligence, while the long range fire from Yelu Empire soldiers provided cover for the zerglings.

In fact, the Yelu people also possessed some support methods. Once their mechanical equipment entered the region, they carried out long range artillery strikes against the Empire's forces.

A day later, the Empire's landing craft transported over 30,000 new soldiers ashore.

In a large city, the two sides engaged in a fierce struggle for control.

2,000 Zerg, 5,000 Yelu Empire soldiers, and roughly 6,000 Empire soldiers engaged in urban street fighting.

Each side had its own methods. The tactics the Zerg had used against weaker nations in the past were now failing; burrowing ambushes were repeatedly countered. Meanwhile, the Zerg's elusive nature and the long range bombardment from the hydralisks were also causing massive headaches for the Empire.

The two sides ground against each other, fighting house by house.

Xia Jin knew that a simple war of attrition wouldn't work. After all, the hive levels in this region were too low. Although they had produced many zerglings, their tiers were low, making it difficult to withstand the Empire's advance.

The combat effectiveness of the Yelu people was even worse. The best they could do was provide massive artillery support to help the Zerg suppress the enemy.

...

While the ground battle raged, a Zerg fleet consisting purely of combat vessels began to clash with the Empire's regular navy on the high seas.

This fleet included 3 Carrier Bugs, 15 Escort Carrier Bugs, and over 60 ships produced by the Clear shipyards.

The Carrier Bugs were self explanatory, but of those 60 ships, 10 were a new iron-clad ship model. The other 50 were actually wooden ships used to carry scourges and mutalisks.

Such cheap, disposable "carriers" were a unique product of this era.

When dozens of scourges flying in the vicinity spotted the tracks of the enemy's magic planes, it was clear the enemy had discovered the Swarm at the same time.

Subsequently, over 6,000 scourges and 100 mutalisks took flight.

The Empire's fleet of over 30 ships also launched a massive number of magic planes.

Furthermore, among the Empire's ships this time, there was actually a carrier carrying 30 of the new-model fighters.

These planes were covered in launch ports underneath, capable of firing a staggering number of fist sized tracking rockets in a single burst. The density was terrifying; each shot could take down a scourge.

However, these planes were clearly expensive to build, and it was estimated that the Empire did not have many of them.

This Empire fleet had 1,000 magic planes, 30 new-model fighters, and had launched 300 griffin knights.

The average level of these griffins reached Tier 8, likely boosted by medicinal enhancements.

Xia Jin had possessed one of the elf bugs. Using the elf's superior vision combined with a monocular produced by the kingdom, she watched the battlefield from over twenty kilometers away.

The flying units of both sides clashed in the sky with extreme intensity.

The Zerg attempted to charge through, wave after wave trying to break the enemy's blockade and reach the hulls of the ships. Due to their sheer numbers, over 300 eventually managed to reach the target area.
