The God of Light had led the angel legion to war against Hell and emerged victorious.
Multitudes of angels gathered before the Divine Realm, singing praises of the God of Light's greatness, offering hymns and prayers.
However, just as the prayers were drawing to a close, they saw a figure emerge from the Divine Realm.
A strange human?
And an incredibly ugly one at that!
The aesthetic of angels was dominated by gold and white. Black was commonly associated with Hell and demons, making it naturally repulsive to them.
Thus, in their eyes, the black-haired, black-eyed Ning Busan was truly... hideous to behold.
Ning Busan had no idea he had been labeled as "hideous."
The God of Light's departure for the Ruins Beyond the Boundary meant that the only person who could control him was gone.
Therefore, he could now run amok in Heaven completely unimpeded.
Leading the angels in prayer was the four-winged angel, Raphael.
Raphael walked up to Ning Busan and said softly, “I have never seen you in Heaven. Who are you?”
Ning Busan replied without missing a beat, “I am an honored guest of the God of Light.”
When away from home, one's status is self-proclaimed.
Besides, what he said was technically true.
Raphael asked respectfully, “Is there anything I can help you with?”
“I am not very familiar with Heaven. Could you show me around?”
“Of course. Where would you like to go?”
Ning Busan fell into thought.
Since he was in Heaven, it was only right and proper for him to pay a visit to the deputy of Heaven.
Ning Busan said, “Take me to the Morning Star Palace. I would like to see Lucifiel.”
The expressions of all the angels instantly turned to sheer terror.
They began to pray in hushed whispers, begging for the God of Light's forgiveness.
Ning Busan: ?
What was going on?
Raphael hurriedly said, “That name is a taboo in Heaven! It must not be spoken!”
Ning Busan raised an eyebrow. “Why can't it be spoken?”
Cold sweat dripped down Raphael's face, as if he had recalled something terrifying.
Right at that moment, Michael appeared just in time to save the day, pulling Ning Busan away.
Ning Busan said with a smile, “Michael, long time no see!”
“Didn't we just see each other? I was leading the angel legion back in Hell,” Michael asked. “You didn't see me?”
Ning Busan really hadn't seen him.
His attention had been entirely focused on the God of Light and the God of Darkness. He hadn't noticed who was in the ranks of the angels at all.
But none of that mattered.
Ning Busan was currently consumed by a burning curiosity for gossip. “Why is Lucifiel a taboo that cannot be mentioned?”
Michael said, “Because he has fallen.”
“What?” Ning Busan was somewhat surprised. “Isn't Lucifiel the Son of God? Who would dare touch him?”
Could it be... the God of Light?
Michael said softly, “Lucifiel questioned God's rule, harbored rebellious thoughts, and launched a rebellion.”
Ning Busan let out a soft hiss.
It really was the God of Light?
Even a vicious tiger wouldn't eat its own cubs. Tsk, tsk, tsk!
“Falling does not mean death. What are you thinking?” Michael said. “Lucifer is Lucifiel. Shouldn't you be well aware of that?”
Ning Busan: “...”
Should he be well aware?
No one had ever told him!
So Lucifer, who had always been by Satan's side, was actually the former deputy of Heaven?
Lucifer certainly kept that well hidden!
Ning Busan said, “Where is the Morning Star Palace? I want to go take a look.”
Michael frowned slightly.
Ning Busan asked, “Is it off-limits?”
Michael said, “Since the Father God even allowed you into the Divine Realm, there is no place in Heaven you cannot go. Come with me.”
...
The Morning Star Palace.
Michael stopped outside the palace, showing proper boundaries as he said, “I won't go in.”
Ning Busan nodded and walked inside.
The Morning Star Palace was the residence of Lucifiel and Phoenix.
Ning Busan discovered a room with a massive water screen hanging on the wall.
As he approached, the images within the water screen gradually became clear.
It was a golden garden. Under the illumination of the holy light, a father and his two sons sat on a bench.
Phoenix held a harp in his hands, his fingertips gently plucking the strings. Lucifiel held a thick book, his expression serious and focused.
The God of Light looked down at his two children, his posture relaxed, a faint smile playing on his lips.
The water screen recorded all the little moments of their time spent together.
Ning Busan fell into deep thought.
One was the God of Light's most trusted eldest son, and the other was his most beloved youngest son. Since the two brothers had grown up together, the bond between the three of them must have been incredibly deep.
But Phoenix was the incarnation of a godhead fragment!
In the end, the God of Light still chose to personally erase his existence.
And Lucifiel, completely disappointed by the God of Light's actions, launched the rebellion.
Ultimately falling into Hell.
What a beautifully broken family!
Suddenly, Ning Busan's consciousness blurred for a brief moment.
Who was it?
Ning Busan closed his eyes and entered the depths of his consciousness.
“Mother God, is that you?”
Hecate had once given him the authority of darkness, allowing her to connect to his consciousness.
“It is me,” Hecate's voice sounded.
Ning Busan asked, “Are you alright now?”
“I am fine,” Hecate said. “The authority of creation is in Heaven. He cannot fully control the authority of creation, so it is impossible for him to carry it with him. Take advantage of his absence to quickly find the authority of creation.”
“I understand.” Ning Busan had not expected that even after being sealed by the God of Light, she would still find a way to contact him just to deliver this information.
Hecate's voice was filled with schadenfreude. “Don't worry, he won't be back anytime soon.”
“Why?”
“Because you caused trouble for him. He has to search for the clone you left behind in the Ruins Beyond the Boundary.”
Ning Busan asked in confusion, “I've already severed my connection with that clone. Could it really cause any trouble?”
“If the entities in the Ruins Beyond the Boundary use your clone to enter the Landia Continent, it will cause immense trouble,” Hecate burst into laughter. “He doesn't want to see that happen, so he has no choice but to deal with it.”
Ning Busan rubbed his nose.
Well, my bad then.
Hecate said softly, “Actually, there is one thing I've never told you...”
“What is it?”
“To put it simply, Hell needed a Lord of Hell to oversee it back then, and Phoenix was the best candidate,” Hecate said. “Surya stripped away his memories, and I nurtured him anew within the darkness. From then on, Phoenix vanished, and Satan came into the world.”
Ning Busan understood.
He licked his lips. “If Satan is the fallen Phoenix, then what on earth is that Angel card?”
“I do not know,” Hecate warned solemnly. “Give up on that Angel card. Do not absorb it, and do not fuse with it.”
Ning Busan took a deep breath. “Alright, I understand.”
So, the most tragic one of all must be Lucifiel, right?
In Heaven, he had strength and status, a loving father, a respectful younger brother, and a harmonious family.
Then, his brother was abandoned by their father, and when he tried to rebel against his father, he was suppressed.
The good news was that after falling, he found his blackened younger brother in Hell.
The bad news was that not long after, his brother was gone again.
After that, he worked diligently in Hell for ten thousand years, only to cross paths with Hecate, have all his wings plucked out, and lose his power.
Good heavens!
What a miserable life!
Hecate's voice began to fade. “Once you obtain the authority of creation, leave Heaven immediately...”
“I can feel it...”
“He already harbors killing intent toward you...”
Ning Busan's gaze hardened.
While he admitted that leaving his clone in the Ruins Beyond the Boundary was indeed wrong, would the God of Light really harbor killing intent toward him just because of that?
Was this for real?
