Chapter 35 | You Said You Only Wanted to Die

Li Nanyi’s mood was currently quite good.

He hummed a little tune as he flew low on his sword, occasionally patting his storage bag. Inside was not only his entire net worth but also the gift he intended to give to Cang Dongqing.

However, he completely failed to notice three pairs of eyes watching him intently from a nearby tree.

Just as Li Nanyi was about to pass by, Li Nanzhu seized the perfect moment and flung out an immobilization talisman she had already prepared in her hand.

Before Li Nanyi could react, he was frozen mid-air.

However, Li Nanyi was a Foundation Establishment cultivator. A tier 1 mid-grade immobilization talisman could only hold him for fifteen minutes at most.

If Li Nanzhu hadn’t wanted to test the power of the talismans she had drawn, Mu Wenyan likely would have simply and efficiently bound him with spiritual power.

Since his body was frozen, he could no longer control the flying sword beneath his feet. Both man and sword plummeted from the sky.

Fortunately, he had been flying low, so falling from that height couldn't cause much damage to a Foundation Establishment cultivator.

Seeing her talisman take effect, Li Nanzhu’s eyes lit up. It seemed her drawing had been very successful.

The three of them jumped down from the tree and surrounded Li Nanyi. Because they were all wearing veils over their faces, Li Nanyi could not make out their features at all.

Li Nanyi grew uneasy and shouted with feigned bravado.

"Who are you people! How dare you rob me! Do you know I am a Sword Heart Sect..."

Before he could say the word "direct," he was met with a punch from Li Nanzhu that effectively silenced him.

However, since Li Nanyi’s spiritual power hadn't been sealed, he immediately protected his body with it. Although Li Nanzhu’s punch dealt some damage, it wasn't much.

Li Nanzhu fell into a strange silence.

That was a miscalculation; she hadn't drawn any spirit-sealing talismans.

Seeing this, Mu Wenyan was about to step in and seal Li Nanyi’s spiritual power, but Duan Xianxing excitedly pulled out a massive sack.

"Little... Sister! This is a goodie I just got—a Spirit-Suppressing Sack! Once it's on, it can seal spiritual power for fifteen minutes!"

Li Nanyi was having a mental breakdown. No, can't you guys reach an agreement before you rob someone? You're actually discussing it right in front of me!

Before he could finish his internal protest, Li Nanzhu wordlessly took the sack from Duan Xianxing and stuffed Li Nanyi inside.

To sound more like actual robbers, Li Nanzhu shouted while delivering a beating.

"Are you going to hand over that storage bag or not?! Hand it over! Huh? What? You won't? Seventh Brother, keep hitting him! I don't believe he won't give it up!"

"Little Sister is right! We need to show him what's what! Otherwise, this brat will never be honest!"

Li Nanzhu and Duan Xianxing threw themselves into the beating with gusto, while Mu Wenyan simply watched from the side. His face twitched as he listened to Li Nanzhu and Duan Xianxing’s performance.

After all, with his personality, it was already a stretch for him to agree to come along; he couldn't bring himself to actually lay a hand on a Foundation Establishment junior.

Li Nanyi tried to speak several times, but every time, he was conveniently interrupted by Duan Xianxing’s fists.

"I... ah! You... I..."

You never said you wanted the storage bag! How do you know if I'll give it up if you don't say anything! At least let me talk!

Of course, Li Nanzhu and the others didn't use too much spiritual power. After all, it would be bad if they actually seriously injured him, but a simple physical beating was unavoidable.

After a full fifteen minutes, Li Nanyi could no longer say anything.

The spirit seal and the immobilization talisman had long since worn off, but he was now beaten to the point where he couldn't move. He felt somewhat relieved that these people had only given him a beating, which meant they didn't intend to kill him. At least his life was safe for now, which allowed him to relax slightly.

Now, he could only secretly form a hand seal to send out a distress signal to his sect, hoping his sect members would come to his rescue quickly.

Suddenly, his waist tightened as those people snatched his storage bag away! Immediately after, a sharp pain shot through his sea of consciousness—his divine sense imprint on the storage bag had been erased!

Li Nanyi’s heart bled. His sword! His spirit stones! His treasures!

Li Nanzhu took the storage bag from the first senior brother, found Li Nanyi’s life-bound sword, and tossed it out. She wouldn't take another person’s 'wife'; she considered herself a very kind-hearted person.

Li Nanyi now only hoped that these people wouldn't leave. That way, when his reinforcements arrived, they wouldn't be able to escape, and he might even get his things back.

Ideals were full, but reality was skinny.

Li Nanzhu and the others had noticed Li Nanyi’s little movements long ago but didn't bother to stop him. It would be best if someone came to take him back; it would be bad if something actually happened to him.

Though they felt that in Li Nanyi’s current state, nothing much could happen. What he suffered now was merely superficial pain.

Giving Li Nanyi another kick, Duan Xianxing lowered his voice and spoke some harsh words.

"Do you know the meaning of keeping a low profile? Don't think people don't know what you, a direct disciple of the Sword Heart Sect, have been up to. This is just a small lesson; there won't be a next time."

Li Nanyi was completely bewildered. What did he do that wasn't low-profile? What had he been up to?

Compared to disciples of other sects, his behavior was perfectly normal, wasn't it? Especially as a direct disciple of the number one sect, he was already being very restrained.

But clearly, these three were not going to listen to his defense.

With another sharp blow to the back of his neck, Li Nanyi passed out.

Mu Wenyan intended to take Li Nanzhu and Duan Xianxing away, but Li Nanzhu stared straight at the unconscious Li Nanyi, lost in thought.

"Junior Sister?"

Before Mu Wenyan could say anything more, Li Nanzhu’s faint voice reached their ears.

"What do you think... if we strip his clothes off?"

Mu Wenyan: "Cough, cough, cough!"

Duan Xianxing: "Great idea, Little Sister! Making him return to the sect naked will definitely be more humiliating than just a beating!"

Mu Wenyan’s face twitched again. Seeing that Duan Xianxing was already starting, he quickly pulled Li Nanzhu to the side to prevent her from looking.

Junior Sister was still so young; she couldn't be allowed to see anything dirty or offensive.

Li Nanzhu didn't feel much about it. It wasn't like they were stripping him completely... well, even if they did... that would indeed be a bit of an eyesore.

Duan Xianxing quickly stripped the clothes off Li Nanyi’s body, though he had a shred of conscience and left him a pair of inner pants.

He had originally wanted to take the magic robes, which seemed to have some defensive capabilities, but fearing there might be a tracking mark they didn't know about, Mu Wenyan ultimately destroyed them.

Thinking it was all over, Mu Wenyan was about to lead them away when Li Nanzhu spoke again.

"First Senior Brother, you should have a Memory Stone, right?"

Mu Wenyan: "..."

He felt it shouldn't be what he was thinking, but he still took out a Memory Stone and handed it to Li Nanzhu.

However, because Mu Wenyan refused to let Li Nanzhu look, she had to give the Memory Stone to Duan Xianxing, signaling him not to forget to take the sack away so Li Nanyi’s face would be visible.

"Junior Sister really thinks of everything. Hehe, if he ever dares to be arrogant again, we'll make hundreds of copies of this footage and spread them all over the cultivation world!"
