Chapter 25 | I, Liu Xian, Am Not a Divine Dragon

Patriarch Bodhi naturally couldn't tell if Su Qing was coiled up properly.

To him, it didn't matter how Su Qing coiled herself.

Even if she tied herself into a butterfly knot, as long as it didn't affect anyone else, Patriarch Bodhi had no opinion.

The Patriarch gave Su Qing a brief glance and slowly nodded.

Then, he began his lecture.

Perhaps to accommodate Su Qing, the Patriarch's lecture this time was exceptionally detailed.

However, even though the Patriarch's lecture was detailed,

Su Qing still only half-understood.

She was the type of person who...

...could understand the meaning of each word when taken separately.

But once they were strung together, she would scratch her head in confusion, not knowing what it all meant.

Su Qing's journey had been entirely one of letting nature take its course. Forget cultivation, she didn't even know the first thing about how to cultivate...

Naturally, she couldn't understand a single thing Patriarch Bodhi was talking about.

While lecturing, Bodhi paid close attention to Su Qing.

And he naturally noticed her situation.

Although Su Qing appeared calm, Bodhi could see a trace of a daze in her eyes.

However, Bodhi did not stop his lesson because of Su Qing. He simply planned to have a private chat with her after it was over.

To understand her situation.

The lecture soon came to an end.

But Su Qing had yet to recover from her earlier state of confusion.

"That is all for today's lesson. Go back and meditate diligently. Do not waste your time."

Patriarch Bodhi stroked his beard and said to the disciples seated below.

Seeing the disciples begin to file out, Patriarch Bodhi then said to Su Qing:

"Yingqing, you stay behind for a moment. I have something to say to you!"

Upon hearing this, Su Qing obediently stayed.

Soon, all the disciples were gone.

Only Su Qing and Patriarch Bodhi, one snake and one man, remained.

The Patriarch didn't beat around the bush and directly asked Su Qing if she had failed to understand today's content.

"Replying to Master... I truly did not understand a single thing."

She didn't find it shameful and admitted it openly.

She had never formally cultivated before...

There were many things she needed to learn from the very beginning.

Patriarch Bodhi nodded slightly. He had already anticipated this situation.

So he said, "In that case, tell me what you know now. I will then see where to begin teaching you."

"I know absolutely nothing..."

"..." For a moment, even Patriarch Bodhi was stunned.

Su Qing continued, "I have never cultivated... I've only lived a bit longer than other snakes. So, when it comes to cultivation, I know nothing at all."

Hearing this, Patriarch Bodhi made a quick calculation with his fingers and nodded slightly.

He had thought Su Qing might be lying, but after calculating, he found that she was indeed telling the truth.

Su Qing truly had never cultivated...

Her current state of being was achieved entirely through natural growth.

At this moment, understanding dawned on Bodhi.

He chuckled, stroking his beard, and said:

"So that's how it is... In that case, I will teach you from the very basics."

"Really? Thank you, Master!"

Su Qing quickly expressed her thanks.

She had thought Patriarch Bodhi would be disappointed by her ridiculously poor foundation.

And then toss her a few basic books to figure out on her own.

She never expected that Patriarch Bodhi would be willing to teach her personally under these circumstances.

It seemed Patriarch Bodhi was truly a good master.

"As long as you study diligently, that will be the greatest thanks to me."

Seeing Su Qing so happy, Bodhi simply stroked his beard and said calmly.

Su Qing didn't know what to say. She just felt that it was her good fortune to have met a master like Bodhi.

So she obediently coiled her body properly.

And focused on listening to Patriarch Bodhi's lecture.

This time, the content Bodhi taught returned to the very basics.

And with this, Su Qing was finally able to understand some of it.

For the parts she didn't understand, she could quickly grasp them by thinking more or asking questions.

Perhaps it was because time passes quickly when one is studying.

Before she knew it, it was already noon.

Patriarch Bodhi looked at the time and also stopped his lesson.

"That's all for today! Go back and properly digest what you've learned! Also, remember not to be too hasty in your cultivation."

Bodhi flicked his horsetail whisk, stood up, and said:

"As for your food, I have already instructed the kitchen to prepare it for you. Just go find them directly!"

Su Qing heard this and nodded.

"Understood, Master!"

"Mm, go on." As he spoke, Patriarch Bodhi turned and vanished.

Just as he had arrived...

Su Qing wasn't surprised.

He's an immortal, so what's wrong with being able to teleport?

Su Qing flicked her tongue and also left the great lecture hall.

To be honest, after studying all morning, she felt she hadn't had enough!

But...

Su Qing also understood that learning and cultivation were not things that could be accomplished overnight.

After leaving the great lecture hall,

the Little Sparrows, who had been holding it in all morning, began to chirp noisily.

They told Su Qing how difficult it was not to speak for a whole morning.

They also told Su Qing that they hadn't understood a single word Patriarch Bodhi said.

Su Qing couldn't help but smile upon hearing this.

She teased them for not knowing how to seize the opportunity to learn more.

But the Little Sparrows didn't care at all.

It seemed that compared to studying cultivation, they preferred to circle around Su Qing.

Or go out and find some bugs to eat.

Su Qing didn't continue to lecture them.

For the Little Sparrows to be able to live so simply was also a kind of fortune.

There was no need to make innocent children think about such complicated matters.

Su Qing shook her head, found a senior disciple in the courtyard, and asked how to get to the kitchen.

When the senior disciple saw it was the green snake from today's lecture, he enthusiastically gave her directions.

Upon arriving at the kitchen, several burly men were vigorously butchering sheep.

The men's knife skills were superb; in a flash, the skin and meat of the sheep were separated.

Soon, the men stopped their work.

And looked at Su Qing.

"You must be the new disciple the Patriarch mentioned, right?"

"I am Su Yingqing."

"That's right! Come, these sheep were all prepared for you on the Patriarch's orders. Take them and eat!"

The burly man slapped the mutton hanging on a wooden post beside him and said:

"Need my help getting it down? Hehe, honestly, it's been a long time, but this is the first time I've seen the Patriarch take a demon as a disciple! It's certainly novel."

"We brothers have been with the Patriarch for so many years, and we've only managed to become butchers and cooks. You become a disciple as soon as you arrive. We can't help but be envious."

"Yes, this junior sister is truly one with great fortune!"

Su Qing looked at the several strong men and said, "Are you all demons too?"

"We were originally the mounts of celestial beings in the heavens. We made a mistake and were cast down. The Patriarch, seeing that we hadn't done anything evil, took us in and gave us jobs in the kitchen."

The burly man chuckled as he took down the mutton and handed it to Su Qing, saying:

"Hah, let's not talk about the past. Life in the heavens wasn't great either, not as free as it is here with the Patriarch. Here, for you! If you need mutton in the future, just have your sparrows tell us in advance, and we'll prepare it for you."
