Su Qing nodded.
She didn't think much of it.
She turned her head to look at the girl with rabbit ears beside her and said:
"Miss Yuer, come with me!"
Hearing this, Yuer gave Su Qing a gloomy look.
Then she turned to glance at the still-smiling Patriarch Bodhi and said:
"Then Yuer will take her leave. I still hope the Patriarch will accept the invitation."
Bodhi stroked his beard, nodded slightly, and only said:
"I will consider it."
Seeing this, Yuer didn't say anything more.
The Patriarch was already hinting for her to leave, and it would be impolite to stay any longer.
"Let's go! Big green snake!"
Yuer glanced at Su Qing with dissatisfaction and followed her out of the main hall.
Su Qing flicked her tongue, not paying much mind to her attitude.
She just treated it as a child throwing a tantrum.
Although, this little girl in front of her was likely much older than herself...
But she looked like a child and had the temperament of a child.
So it was fine to treat her as a child.
"Miss Yuer, what was it you came to see my master for?"
On the way, Su Qing asked casually.
Yuer glanced at Su Qing, stopped, and said:
"You don't need to know about this. It's the business of the celestial immortals anyway. There's no benefit in knowing..."
"Is that so?" Su Qing thought for a moment, feeling it would be awkward not to say anything, so she asked again, "Then if you're not a rabbit spirit, what are you?"
"..."
Yuer looked at Su Qing as if she were looking at an idiot.
She plopped down on a stone stool by the side.
Puffing out her cheeks, she said:
"Fine, seeing as you're a disciple Patriarch Bodhi holds in high regard, there's no harm in telling you!"
"I am the Moon Rabbit from the heavens!"
"Then your master is Chang'e?" Su Qing understood at once.
"Of course! So I'm not some rabbit spirit!"
Yuer added:
"But you can't tell the other cultivators in this monastery about this! If they find out, it will inevitably cause trouble."
Su Qing flicked her tongue, not quite understanding what kind of trouble there would be.
It couldn't be that they'd ask for mooncakes, could it!
However, since Yuer told her not to say anything, she couldn't be bothered to ask for trouble.
She nodded and agreed.
"Don't worry, I won't go around blabbing."
"That's good..."
Yuer touched the ears on her head, a worried expression on her face, and said:
"Go on, what cultivation problems do you have... The Patriarch told you to ask me, and he specifically said it in front of me, which most likely means he wants me to guide you properly."
"Although you and I are not of the same origin, we can be considered of the same kind, more or less. It's fine for me to give you a pointer or two."
Su Qing was a little surprised.
She hadn't expected this girl to be so sharp.
"Don't look at me like that! I'm much older than you!"
Yuer puffed her cute cheeks, tugging at one of her rabbit ears with one hand.
"I look like this only because my master likes soft and small things. That's why I took this form! If I wanted to, I could also look like a big sister!"
As she spoke, she arrogantly lifted her head, looking up at Su Qing with dissatisfaction, and said:
"Don't treat me like a child just because I look small!"
Hearing this, Su Qing also apologized.
It wasn't her fault for treating Yuer like a child; her personality was just too childlike.
Hearing Su Qing's apology, Yuer proudly lifted her head.
But because she had to look up at Su Qing anyway, Su Qing almost didn't notice the gesture.
"Hmph, I forgive you! So if you have any questions, ask quickly! After you're done, I'm going home."
From Patriarch Bodhi's earlier attitude, Yuer could actually guess what would happen.
Patriarch Bodhi most likely wouldn't be going this time.
So even if she stayed, it would only be for another two days.
Nothing would change!
After answering Su Qing's questions, she would just go straight home.
She wouldn't even need to tell Bodhi...
He had intended to see her off anyway.
Su Qing thought for a moment and decided to ask about transformation.
"Uh... didn't the Patriarch already tell you? You can transform once you've perfected your current realm!"
Yuer thought for a moment and added:
"When your cultivation reaches that point, you can form a False Core, and the Transformation Tribulation will descend at the same time."
"Is the Transformation Tribulation difficult?" Su Qing asked again.
Yuer touched her ear, pondered for a moment, and said:
"It's alright, I guess? Anyway, most demons don't die in this tribulation... After all, it's possible to evade some of the calamities."
"But if you want a perfect transformation, it's best to endure this trial completely."
"But as for how it really is, I've never gone through the Transformation Tribulation, so I'm not very clear either."
Su Qing's face was full of doubt.
She then heard the Moon Rabbit continue:
"I didn't experience the Transformation Tribulation because my master is good to me..."
"Master gave me a Transformation Pill."
"After taking that pill, I transformed... so I didn't need to go through the Transformation Tribulation."
"Just like a normal person, I just had to form a False Core."
"But I was still struck by lightning quite badly..."
Hearing this, Su Qing was lost in thought... then she nodded.
"You still get struck by lightning even without the Transformation Tribulation?"
"Mhm... Core Formation requires passing through tribulations of lightning, fire, and wind to succeed."
Yuer nodded and said:
"After passing these tribulations and condensing the False Core, you enter the realm of immortals."
"I see..."
Su Qing nodded in sudden realization.
She now had a clearer idea about her future cultivation.
"Do you have anything else to ask?"
Hearing this, Su Qing naturally took the opportunity to ask a series of things she wanted to know.
Including, but not limited to, strange questions like whether Yuer's ears were real and if she had a tail.
It wasn't that she was teasing Yuer; she was just purely curious.
However, it didn't take long for Su Qing to annoy Yuer with her questions.
She huffed and puffed and ran off.
As she left, she even said, "Don't let me catch you in the future. If I do, I'll definitely kick your butt!"
Su Qing flicked her tongue...
This threat didn't feel scary at all.
With Yuer gone, Su Qing naturally returned to her own courtyard.
The sparrows were waiting for her in the courtyard.
Seeing that Su Qing was in a good mood upon her return, they knew she had gained a lot.
The little ones also happily circled around her.
Although the little ones were still chubby, having become solid little fluffballs, they were living a comfortable life.
Especially after mastering the art of body-lightening, flying was finally not as strenuous as before.
Su Qing chatted with the little ones for a while and read a book for a bit.
Then she continued her cultivation.
She was now just one step away from transformation.
Next, what she needed to consider was not the Transformation Tribulation, but how to take that final step.
The years of cultivation passed in a flash.
Unconsciously.
Another two years passed.
On this day.
A thunderstorm was raging.
