After Su Qing's hibernation...
In a corner of the sermon hall, a green figure appeared every morning during the lectures.
Flicking its tongue, it listened intently to Patriarch Bodhi's explanations.
Spring passed and autumn came.
The cold came and the heat went.
Except for the winter days, she always arrived here punctually at all other times.
The days were peaceful and elegant.
In the blink of an eye, six or seven years had passed.
Over these six or seven years, Su Qing's relationship with her senior brothers and sisters had grown much closer.
Their bonds of affection had also deepened.
Perhaps from talking with people more often, Su Qing, who was once a snake of few words, was now much more talkative than before.
However, during these six or seven years, quite a few senior brothers and sisters from the monastery had also left.
This made Su Qing feel a little reluctant to see them go.
The Cave of the Slanted Moon and Three Stars originally had over thirty disciples; now, only twenty-seven or twenty-eight remained.
Fortunately, the senior brothers and sisters who had graduated had all learned a great deal of skills.
Presumably, after leaving the monastery, they would be able to achieve great things.
But Su Qing didn't know if she would ever have the chance to see those senior brothers and sisters again in the future.
During these six or seven years, Su Qing had not slacked off in her cultivation.
Her progress was not small; it could be described as advancing by leaps and bounds.
And after six or seven years of cultivation, along with the kitchen's unstinting feeding,
Su Qing's size had grown explosively.
If she were to fully extend herself now, she would be over twenty meters long.
What made Su Qing a little frustrated was...
Even though she had cultivated so diligently and made so much progress,
she still had no feeling of being able to transform, for some unknown reason.
It was as if she was always missing that final step!
Her current situation was just like when she had first arrived in Aparagodaniya, searching for the woodcutter with the green ox...
It seemed as if her fated time had not yet come.
However, Su Qing, who had always been rather Zen-like,
was not anxious about this.
In matters of cultivation, one must never be impatient.
If impatience leads one down the wrong path, it would mean eternal damnation.
She cultivated for the sake of longevity; it would be wrong to put the cart before the horse.
Although Su Qing's cultivation was not going very smoothly,
the cultivation of the few little sparrows was proceeding quite well.
Although it was unknown how far the little sparrows were from transforming, considering their inherently poor aptitude,
such progress was already worthy of praise.
At the very least, if they left the monastery now, the little sparrows could rely on the spells they had learned.
Self-preservation would not be a problem.
As for Su Qing, despite cultivating for so long, she had not practiced any spells.
This was only because Patriarch Bodhi had told her to learn them after she transformed.
"Ah, it's autumn again."
Su Qing was coiled in the courtyard, watching the ginkgo leaves that had turned yellow again, slowly flicking her tongue.
The few sparrows gathered around her.
They copied her and chirped a few words as well.
"You little ones, why are you copying me?"
Su Qing said helplessly.
"We just thought Sister Xiao Qing looked like you were in a bad mood, and we wanted to cheer you up!"
"That's right, that's right!"
Su Qing shook her head slightly and said, "Where did you get the idea that I'm in a bad mood? I was just sighing about how quickly time passes. I always feel that so much of it slips away without me noticing."
"Don't worry, don't worry! No matter how fast time passes, we'll always be by Sister Xiao Qing's side!"
"Hah, I'm afraid you'd be easily tricked away with a few snacks."
"No, we wouldn't!"
"That's right, that's right! We won't be tricked away by snacks!"
Watching these little ones chirping away, Su Qing shook her head helplessly.
But in her heart, she was very gratified.
In her life of cultivation, she had her senior brothers and sisters, as well as these little ones, to accompany her.
The boring days were much more bearable.
Su Qing flicked her tongue and said, "I'm going to see Master. You all play by yourselves for a while."
Su Qing was seeking out Patriarch Bodhi.
Naturally, it was about the matter of transformation.
Although she wasn't in a hurry...
she couldn't just leave it completely to fate either.
Back when she was looking for the woodcutter with the green ox, she left it to fate only because she had no other help.
But now it was different.
She had Patriarch Bodhi as her master.
Since there was something she didn't understand, she naturally had to go and ask Patriarch Bodhi.
When the little sparrows heard that Su Qing was going to see Patriarch Bodhi, they obediently did not follow.
In the eyes of the little sparrows,
Patriarch Bodhi was a very scary person.
The moment he opened his mouth, everyone couldn't help but feel sleepy!
It was truly terrifying.
Su Qing left the courtyard and soon arrived at the hall where Patriarch Bodhi resided.
"Master! Your disciple has something to ask you!" Su Qing said at the entrance.
"Mm, come in."
Patriarch Bodhi waved his hand, opening the door and letting Su Qing enter.
With Su Qing's enormous body entering the hall, the spacious hall suddenly felt somewhat oppressive.
And just as Su Qing was about to speak,
the voice of a young girl came from the side.
"Wow, what a big green snake! Hey, be careful, don't crush me!"
Su Qing turned her head and only then noticed there was a little girl of eleven or twelve in the hall.
This little girl's features were also extremely delicate.
But what was most striking about her was not her face, but her head of white hair and the fluffy rabbit ears on top.
"A rabbit spirit?" Su Qing asked subconsciously.
Su Qing was also a little surprised; the little girl's aura was extremely faint.
She hadn't even noticed her when she came in.
This girl was definitely not simple.
"Who's a rabbit spirit! You're the rabbit spirit, your whole family are rabbit spirits!"
Hearing Su Qing's words, the girl immediately jumped up and cursed.
Su Qing flicked her tongue and said, "Allow me to correct you, I am a snake spirit."
"..." The girl was instantly at a loss for words.
She clearly hadn't expected such a reply.
"Hmph!" The girl, for reasons unknown, didn't explain her own identity.
Puffing out her cheeks, she silently walked to the side to sulk.
Su Qing was momentarily baffled, so she decided to ignore it for now.
Instead, she first apologized to Patriarch Bodhi.
"It's no matter..." Patriarch Bodhi looked at Su Qing with a smile and asked, "Yingqing, is there something you came to see me about?"
"I wanted to ask about the matter of transformation."
Su Qing told Patriarch Bodhi her situation truthfully.
After listening, the Patriarch nodded slightly and said,
"There is no need to be anxious about transforming. For now, just focus on your cultivation! The reason you have not yet transformed is simply because your cultivation is not yet complete! When you reach completion, you will be able to transform."
"Then when will I reach completion? And what is considered complete?" Su Qing asked again.
"When you form your core, it will be considered complete," Patriarch Bodhi said.
Hearing this, Su Qing nodded.
"Thank you, Master, for clearing my doubts," Su Qing said.
"Mm, is there anything else?" Patriarch Bodhi asked, stroking his beard.
Su Qing tilted her head to look at the child, originally wanting to ask who she was.
But after a moment's thought, it seemed like it wasn't her business to meddle in.
So she shook her head and said, "No, nothing else."
However, Patriarch Bodhi seemed to have seen through Su Qing's thoughts and said while stroking his beard,
"You're curious about who that girl is, aren't you?"
"Er... Indeed, I can't hide anything from Master."
Patriarch Bodhi chuckled and said, "Why don't you go ask her yourself? This girl can be considered a predecessor of your kind."
Su Qing flicked her tongue, seeming to understand Patriarch Bodhi's meaning.
Just as she was about to nod, she heard Patriarch Bodhi say,
"Alright, both of you may go back for now! Yingqing, lead Yuer to a guest room."
