Su Qing thought for a moment and shook her head slightly.
She stopped thinking about these things.
As long as they were with her, that was enough.
Su Qing extended her tail and patted the ground beside the group of little chubby birds.
"Wake up, little fat birds! You've gotten quite plump this past winter!"
The ground vibrated slightly from the pat of Su Qing's tail, finally waking the little fat birds.
A few fat birds flapped their wings a couple of times and stood up.
They were so chubby they no longer looked like sparrows, but more like long-tailed tits.
But long-tailed tits are mostly feathers with little meat, whereas these fellows were definitely solid.
"Not fat, not fat, we just have more feathers in the winter."
The little ones all insisted they hadn't gotten fat.
But Su Qing just chuckled, not believing them at all.
If this wasn't fat, then what was?
"You all should lose some weight."
Su Qing looked at the flapping little ones and said with a smile:
"Can you even fly anymore?"
"Of course, of course! We don't need to lose weight! The senior brothers and sisters at the Daoist monastery all say we're cute!"
"Right, right! We can still fly!"
The little ones vehemently objected.
Su Qing flicked her tongue and chuckled.
She shook her head slightly and asked about what happened during the winter.
She then learned that these little ones had actually started learning magic from the men in the kitchen.
Although the little ones hadn't learned much, learning magic isn't something that can be accomplished overnight.
One winter certainly wouldn't be enough to see much progress.
However, this was a situation Su Qing hadn't anticipated…
That those men would actually teach them magic.
Truly interesting.
No wonder the spiritual energy on these little ones was much richer.
But, this was also good.
If they could truly achieve something through cultivation, it wouldn't necessarily be a bad thing.
She just needed to find a chance to thank those men.
Su Qing quietly listened to the little ones recount their recent situation.
After they finished speaking, the light rain outside had mostly stopped.
The first thing Su Qing did after waking up was to find the people in the kitchen and ask for something to eat.
After all, having hibernated for an entire winter, Su Qing was now famished.
In the past, she had to hunt for herself after waking up; now it was much simpler.
Of course, she would also take the opportunity to thank them for teaching the chubby birds magic.
When she arrived at the kitchen, the men were in the middle of slaughtering a sheep.
Seeing Su Qing arrive, they came over with a smile.
"The Patriarch calculated that you should be waking up soon and ordered us to prepare some food for you."
"Just wait a little while, it'll be ready soon."
Su Qing flicked her tongue and nodded.
It seemed... Patriarch Bodhi had already foreseen her waking up.
She had originally thought she would have to wait a day or half a day to eat!
While waiting, Su Qing also took the opportunity to thank the men.
After all, they had taught the little sparrows so much.
The men were heard saying with a laugh:
"Hah, it's nothing, nothing... just some basic magic."
"Yeah, besides, none of us have any successors. All our skills are useless now, so if a demon can inherit them, it's a good thing."
The men spoke one after another.
Su Qing listened quietly from the side…
She more or less understood.
These men weren't just bored and looking to chat with the sparrows anymore.
They were already planning to raise them as disciples.
Su Qing didn't know what to say, nor did she know if this was a good or bad thing.
After thinking it over, she felt it had both pros and cons…
But overall, for the little sparrows, it was indeed a good thing.
After all, achieving fruition through cultivation leads to a long life!
Soon, the meat was prepared.
Su Qing ate two or three sheep in one go.
Her belly was so full she could barely move.
"My appetite is getting bigger and bigger..."
Su Qing flicked her tongue, subconsciously thinking of the chubby birds.
She couldn't help but wonder if she had gotten fat.
But then she had another thought.
She was just a long strip.
Whether she was fat or thin, it didn't look any different.
Su Qing shook her head and left the kitchen.
She prepared to go see Patriarch Bodhi.
Although he already knew, as a disciple, she still had to report to her master.
When Bodhi saw Su Qing, he didn't say much, only telling her to attend the lecture tomorrow as usual.
Su Qing nodded.
The conversation between master and disciple thus ended.
A short while later, Su Qing came out from Bodhi's place.
"I should go back and continue cultivating! And digest some food while I'm at it."
Su Qing had wanted to take a stroll around the Daoist monastery, but she was too lazy to move.
So she simply returned to her courtyard to cultivate.
After all, she had nothing else to do.
At most, she could read some books.
As for playing with her senior brothers and sisters…
Better not!
She didn't even have hands, so she couldn't participate in any activities.
Returning to the courtyard, Su Qing continued to cultivate.
She also urged the little chubby birds to cultivate.
But as soon as these lazy bums heard about cultivating, they flapped their wings and flew away.
It just looked like they were flying with great effort.
"Looks like they weren't lying to me, they can still fly! A pity they're out of breath every three steps."
Su Qing thought amusingly, then coiled her body and entered a meditative state to cultivate.
As Su Qing cultivated.
Spiritual energy flickered around her, entering her body strand by strand.
Time passed.
The next day.
Su Qing went to the lecture hall, just as she had in the past.
Then she coiled up in the same spot as before.
The disciples entered the lecture hall one after another, and were slightly surprised to see the coiled green snake there after a long time.
Many who hadn't seen Su Qing yesterday also came up to greet her.
There was also a senior sister who, having nothing better to do and not knowing how to start a conversation, asked Su Qing what hibernation felt like.
As for what it felt like... Su Qing found it hard to say.
She just replied that it was like having a long sleep.
That senior sister was also a bit speechless... feeling that she had asked a stupid question.
Among cultivators, true extroverts were ultimately quite rare.
But it wasn't as if there were no talkative people.
The senior sister Luo Yingjun, who had first led Su Qing to the lecture hall, was one of the talkative ones.
When she arrived at the hall.
Seeing Su Qing, she began telling her about the chubby birds' amusing antics during the winter.
Suddenly, everyone found something to talk about.
Although Su Qing wasn't talkative, she wasn't a complete introvert either.
When it came to the chubby birds, she could indeed chat for a bit.
For a moment, the lecture hall, which should have been quiet, became a bit livelier.
It had a bit more life to it.
Meanwhile, Patriarch Bodhi had appeared on the cattail mat at some unknown time.
But no one had noticed him.
Bodhi didn't make a sound to interrupt, just watching the scene with a faint smile on his face.
It wasn't time for the lecture yet, so it was fine to let them chat a little longer.
The harmony among the disciples was something he was happy to see.
