Su Qing rubbed her eyes.
She was a little dazed...
Had she been too hungry last night and sleepwalked to the kitchen?
Why was she smelling the aroma of food?
She opened her eyes and looked around.
Wasn't she still in her own room?
Then how could there be the scent of food?
It couldn't possibly be the work of that group of little lazybones, could it?
Impossible.
They were adept at stealing ingredients, but cooking...
That would be too incredible.
Besides, those little ones were right beside her at this moment!
Huddled together, sound asleep...
Clearly, it had nothing to do with them.
Su Qing couldn't help but feel even more puzzled.
She decided to go and take a look first.
She climbed out of bed...
But as she got down, something pricked her.
She thought there was something wrong with the bed, but a closer look revealed it was Leng Xiang that had poked her.
Su Qing blinked, looking at Leng Xiang, a thoughtful expression on her face.
She picked up the sword.
Putting on her shoes, she went to the living room.
The table in the living room was set with several dishes, both meat and vegetable, looking quite appetizing.
Su Qing put down the sword, picked up her chopsticks, and tried a bite.
"It's a bit salty, not very good."
Su Qing said, as if to herself.
As she said this, Leng Xiang, which was placed beside her, suddenly trembled.
Seeing this, a smile touched the corners of Su Qing's lips.
She poked Leng Xiang with her finger and asked tentatively, "Did you make this?"
In truth, Su Qing was exceptionally surprised...
Her master had given her a sword, and it turned out this sword could cook?
This...
If it was true...
Then this sword shouldn't be called Leng Xiang, but Nanny Sword, or Wife Sword.
However, surprise was one thing, but even if this sword had really cooked the meal, Su Qing could accept it...
She herself had transformed into a human.
What was so strange about a sword being able to cook?
Being poked by Su Qing, Leng Xiang's blade trembled again.
A woman's voice entered Su Qing's mind.
"Please punish me, Little Master."
Hearing this, Su Qing was stunned for a moment.
"Why would I punish you?"
In fact, even if Su Qing were to punish her, she wouldn't know how to punish a... sword.
"The food was not well made... it has ruined Little Master's mood."
Upon hearing this, Su Qing let out a chuckle and said:
"This food is actually quite good. I only said that to see your reaction."
She hadn't expected that she could really make Leng Xiang reveal herself with just one sentence.
This child, she seems very afraid of being denied, and yearns for others' approval?
"This..."
Leng Xiang was very frustrated.
Her new master was so mean, tricking even a sword.
"I'm very curious... how does a sword like you cook?" Su Qing asked.
Leng Xiang did not delay in her response.
The plum blossom on the hilt flickered slightly, and an ethereal, woman-like figure emerged.
The woman was dressed in a white ruqun, her appearance cold and detached, like a plum blossom on a snowy mountain peak.
But the moment she spoke, the illusion was instantly shattered.
The woman's face was red, and she had an embarrassed look.
She said, "This appearance... I have made a fool of myself before Little Master."
Su Qing looked at Leng Xiang, slightly stunned.
"Very beautiful! Are you a sword spirit?"
Leng Xiang shook her head slightly and said:
"I cannot be considered a sword spirit. I was originally a plum blossom spirit. Later, I was plucked to be made into a sword hilt, and after merging with this sword, I became what I am now..."
Hearing this, Su Qing became thoughtful...
She had thought Leng Xiang was a sword spirit, but it turned out she was the spirit of the plum blossom on the sword.
Seeing Su Qing's silence, Leng Xiang instantly panicked.
She hurriedly said, "Please, Little Master, do not dislike me. Leng Xiang can cook and sweep the floor! Although I am not a sword spirit, I can control the spirit sword! I may not be a sword spirit, but I am as good as one! Please, Little Master, do not throw Leng Xiang away."
Leng Xiang had a cold and aloof appearance, but her temperament was ridiculously gentle.
She looked terrified of being abandoned.
It was a sight that would move even the heavens.
It was as if she was just short of directly hugging Su Qing's thigh.
Su Qing was also flustered by her behavior.
She had never seen such a scene before!
"I don't dislike you, I'm just a little surprised."
Su Qing was indeed quite surprised...
She had just woken up and was already hit with all sorts of new information.
Her brain was having a hard time catching up.
However, she would not dislike such a good sword spirit.
She had even kept those lazy sparrows by her side, let alone a sword spirit who was like a good wife and loving mother?
"It is good that Little Master does not dislike me."
Leng Xiang breathed a sigh of relief...
It wasn't her fault for being so afraid of being disliked.
Who could understand the loneliness of several hundred, nearly a thousand years?
Now that she finally had a master, how could she let go?
Even if it was just to stay by her master's side to serve tea and water, to do odd jobs, it was better than being thrown into a storeroom to gather dust.
"How could I dislike you? Besides you, I have no other weapons."
Su Qing spread her hands helplessly and said:
"Simply put, you are my only weapon right now."
Hearing this, Leng Xiang's face lit up with joy, as if she wished she could rush over and hug Su Qing.
But if she were to really hug her, Su Qing would have to think twice.
Who would want to get backstabbed just because their sword spirit got a little excited?
"Thank you, Little Master, for taking me in!" Leng Xiang smiled, extremely happy.
She smiled like a child...
Although she had an icy face, her personality was not icy at all.
"By the way, where did you get these ingredients?"
Su Qing rubbed her chin.
Although there was a kitchen in her own courtyard, she had never grown vegetables, let alone raised chickens.
"I got them from a nearby courtyard!"
Su Qing blinked her eyes, seeming to know where they came from.
Poor Senior Brother Liu Yingtong.
He had only been raising the chicken for less than a month before Leng Xiang got to it.
She would have to go and apologize to her senior brother later...
"Forget it. Don't get things from there anymore. If you're missing any ingredients, go to the main kitchen to get them! The staff there are very easy to talk to."
Su Qing said helplessly.
"Yes, Little Master." Leng Xiang nodded obediently.
"Can you become smaller? It's not practical to always carry you around in the Daoist monastery."
"I can, Little Master."
Leng Xiang nodded slightly and transformed directly into a hairpin.
It landed in Su Qing's hand.
"This is quite good."
Su Qing nodded slightly.
Turning into a hairpin wouldn't seem too out of place and would be convenient for daily use.
Su Qing quickly finished her breakfast.
She woke up the few little sparrows who were still sleeping in.
Then, with Leng Xiang's help, she styled her hair and changed her clothes.
After that, she set off to listen to Patriarch Bodhi's lecture.
Although she had now taken human form and fulfilled one of her wishes, her cultivation was not yet over.
She hadn't learned the Seventy-Two Transformations yet, so she naturally had to attend class obediently.
Su Qing was thinking, if she had the chance in the future, maybe she could find a way to learn the Somersault Cloud or something from the Patriarch.
Although somersaulting was a bit ungraceful, it could cover one hundred and eight thousand li in a single leap.
It would be incredibly useful for traveling.
Su Qing stopped her wild thoughts and soon arrived at the great hall for lectures.
While waiting for the Patriarch to begin class, Su Qing also took the opportunity to find Senior Brother Liu Yingtong and apologize.
After learning the whole story, Liu Yingtong didn't say much.
He just asked Leng Xiang not to harm his other chickens...
Su Qing quickly promised on Leng Xiang's behalf.
Before long, Patriarch Bodhi arrived.
Su Qing and the others quieted down to listen to the lecture.
