After the entire coronation ceremony process was completed, Law Freya officially issued her first decree, which was to integrate the Church of the Earth into the national administrative system.
Prior to this, banning the Church of the Earth from participating in politics was explicitly written into the law, so Law Freya doing this allowed her to perfectly complete her advancement ritual from Rank Five to Rank Six as an Arbiter.
That is to say, deleting the old law and drafting a new one.
Naturally, the major nobles were extremely opposed to this decree at first. After all, bringing more people into the national administrative system meant that the power and resources in the hands of those already within the system would diminish, as they would have to share them with the newcomers.
If Law Freya had succeeded the throne under normal circumstances, pushing through this reform would likely have been fraught with difficulties.
But that was precisely the point—she had not succeeded the throne under normal circumstances. Or rather, although she appeared to have ascended normally on the surface, every noble other than the blindly loyal royalist faction knew the real truth: it was an armed coup d'état!
So who would dare to step forward and object at a time like this? That would truly be a death wish.
Well, actually, there were. A few nobles from the royalist faction raised minor objections. But it was no big deal. Law Freya simply called those objectors in privately and spoke with them face-to-face, one by one. Very quickly, they no longer had any objections.
As for how she conducted these discussions? The process was incredibly simple. She straight up told them that if they disagreed, she would have Trig knock on their doors in the early hours of the morning to investigate whether there were any cultists inside their homes.
The nobles flushed red one by one and said, “Your Majesty, how can you threaten us like this?”
But before they could even finish, Law Freya leaned back on her throne, crossed her legs, and looked down at the nobles below, saying bluntly, “I am threatening you. What of it? Do you have a problem with that?”
“This... this...” The noble was so furious he did not even know what to say. But when he looked up at Law Freya before him, he felt as if a bucket of cold water had been poured over him, and he instantly calmed down.
She was clearly just an underage girl, and her appearance was undeniably cute and beautiful, yet this noble felt a bone-chilling coldness. It was because of Law Freya's eyes—those blue eyes were completely calm and placid as she silently stared at him. It was almost as if... she was looking at a dead man.
Shivering all over, the noble lowered his head and said, “No... I have no objections, Your Majesty.”
Only now did he deeply realize that Law Freya was not joking. If he refused, he really would die.
In fact, Law Freya truly thought that way because the royalist noble before her was actually not royalist at all.
True royalist nobles—those blindly loyal fanatics—would never question the King's orders. To what extent did their blind loyalty go? Even if the King made up a random excuse to order their deaths, they would not hesitate. At most, they would cry and say, “If the ruler wants the subject to die, the subject has no choice but to die,” and then commit suicide.
Thus, there was no way these guys actually cared about the power in their hands. Those who raised objections to Law Freya now were merely fence-sitters who had packaged themselves as royalists. Law Freya naturally would not show them any kindness.
After dismissing these parasites, Law Freya organized the information in her mind. According to her understanding, the nobles in the capital could currently be categorized into four main factions:
The blindly loyal royalist faction and the fake royalist faction. Both of these had already been explained and needed no further elaboration.
The kingdom faction, led by the Holmes family to which Euphy belonged. Rather than swearing fealty to a single King, these people valued the nation itself and the interests of the people, pledging allegiance to the country.
The neutral faction was essentially an unmasked version of the 【fake royalist faction】 mentioned above. They were the most traditional nobles, who valued the power in their hands above all else. Trig had coerced them with force and promised that their power would not be touched after the coup d'état was completed, which was why they agreed to remain neutral.
Of course, Trig actually had no intention of keeping that promise. Once the coup d'état was finished and reforms began, if these guys dared to step forward and oppose, they would still face certain death.
These people only kept quiet because the coup d'état had just concluded, and they were still intimidated by Trig's lingering dread. However, it was hard to say what would happen in the future. Moreover, these neutral nobles were the most numerous, accounting for about sixty percent. Killing them all at once was unrealistic, so they had to find a way to deal with them slowly.
(Note: The fake royalist faction dared to object because they did not know the truth behind the coup d'état.)
Furthermore, there might be moles among these four factions who had been bought off by other countries. Just as the current Kingdom of Tarapaca had moles in the neighboring Pentagram Alliance and the Fanipaca Empire, Law Freya did not believe these two nations had failed to plant moles in her own country.
While Law Freya was receiving these fake royalists, the eldest prince, Stefan, had been watching from the side. Looking at his sister on the throne, his heart was filled with endless emotions.
She looked so cute on the outside, yet her way of doing things was so unyielding and cool. It was no exaggeration to say that if Stefan were in her place, he would never have dared to speak to these nobles in such a manner.
After dealing with the nobles, Law Freya looked at Stefan and said, “Regarding the integration of the Church of the Earth into the national administrative system, I will leave the task of designing their positions, compensation, and authority to you.”
This was a highly tedious task with an immense workload. In a sense, it meant completely updating the nation's entire power structure. Moreover, it was not as if everyone would be satisfied with whatever he came up with; there would likely be revisions. Just thinking about it was a headache, so... Law Freya simply dumped it onto her dear younger brother.
“Do your best! I believe you will do a wonderful job!”
Hearing this, Stefan immediately stood up straight, his face showing an almost devout expression. “Your Majesty, I guarantee the task will be completed!”
Law Freya said helplessly, “How many times have I told you? Just call me sister. There is no need to be so formal.”
Stefan replied, “Understood, Your Majesty!”
Law Freya: “...”
After assigning this task to Stefan, Law Freya went to find Trig to begin discussing how to weaken the influence of the neutral nobles.
Meanwhile, shifting back to Freya's perspective, after the coronation ceremony ended, she and Euphy began their return to Auxerre. Freya would continue attending school, while Euphy would keep researching the Wheel of Destiny ring, striving to get this extraordinary organization up and running as soon as possible.
