Unfortunately, neither of them knew where the fanged wild boar masked man had gone. There was nothing they could do but wish him the best of luck.
After parting ways with Shaw, War Freya went to an uninhabited spot and was directly recalled into the system warehouse by the main body. The perspective shifted back to Euphemia's rented apartment, where Freya was currently sitting and having a meal with Euphy.
Euphy couldn't help but ask, “How did it go? Did you manage to buy the Law potion?”
Freya shook her head. “No. The person selling the potion is dead. In fact, the extraordinary gathering was even raided by an organization called the Holy Blessing Society.”
Euphy tilted her head slightly; she had never heard of this organization at all.
The next day, Freya did not report the incident by wrapping a stone in paper and throwing it into the police station as she had initially done in the simulation. Instead, she had Life Freya directly send a member of the Church of the Earth over.
Subsequently, the Special Service and the Church of the Earth simultaneously launched an investigation into the Holy Blessing Society. However, as time slowly ticked by, several days passed without any progress. It was as if this group of people had suddenly vanished from the city altogether. But no matter how one looked at it, that was impossible, wasn't it?
To come to this city, send people to raid a gathering of wild extraordinaries, and then just run away because the raid failed? Did that make any sense?
Yet, it was also a fact that the Special Service and the Church of the Earth had come up empty-handed. Even Life Freya had started wandering around the city, pushing her Heart Perception ability to its limit, but aside from spotting a few ordinary wild extraordinaries, she had found absolutely nothing.
One week, two weeks, three weeks... As time dragged on, the Special Service's priority for this investigation inevitably began to slip. Eventually, only the people from the Church of the Earth were still investigating with all their might.
That being said, even Life Freya herself had given up on keeping Heart Perception active every day to search the city.
On this day, Euphy approached Freya holding two exquisitely designed invitation cards and said, “Get ready, it's time for us to head out. We're going to the kingdom's capital to attend that aristocratic gathering.”
Now that the extraordinary gatherings had been suspended, this aristocratic gathering seemed to be the only way Freya could lay her eyes on the Law potion.
As for why she didn't just start a simulation and rob the Special Service directly?
She had actually considered that option, but ultimately abandoned it. This was because upon entering a simulation, Freya could only choose a single clone to enter. Honestly, if Life Freya, War Freya, and Mind Freya were to act together, they might actually be able to snatch the potion from the Special Service. But with only one of them deployed, it would be far too difficult.
This was the authorities they were talking about. The potions obviously wouldn't be left lying around in some random cabinet; they were strictly regulated and guarded by dedicated personnel around the clock. At the very least, with Freya's current strength, forcing her way through the authorities was still out of the question.
But another issue was that while she could see the potions at the aristocratic gathering, how was she supposed to get her hands on them? Freya had to obtain the potion and then exit the simulation to bring it back to reality.
Freya said, “What if I use Mind Freya's ability to Enter the Future, turn invisible right under everyone's noses, and steal all the potions?”
Euphy gave her a look that said you've got to be kidding me and replied, “Don't forget, this potion exhibition is happening right in front of all the aristocrats. It's the royal family's way of showing off that they control the Law Pathway. If they let you steal the potions right in front of everyone, wouldn't the royal family lose all credibility? There will definitely be powerful experts guarding those potions.”
“However, precisely because they are showcasing their control over the Law Pathway to the aristocrats, these potions can actually be picked up and examined closely. If all else fails, you can just use the Enter the Future ability multiple times. Each time you enter the future, grab a different potion. That way, you should be able to bring all of them out, right?”
Freya thought about it and said, “That could work?”
As long as the simulation duration did not exceed a day, the cooldown for entering was one hour. This aristocratic gathering would showcase a total of twelve potions: one each for Rank One through Rank Three, and one for each advanced class from Rank Four through Rank Six.
In other words, Freya only needed to enter the simulation twelve hours before the aristocratic gathering began, grab a potion, exit, and then immediately go back in once the cooldown refreshed. In theory, she could bring all twelve potions out this way.
As for school, Freya had already requested leave. After briefly packing their luggage, she and Euphy boarded a carriage and set off directly for the kingdom's capital.
The journey took over four days. Upon arriving at their destination, before Freya could even marvel at the bustling city, Euphy dragged her straight into a clothing store.
After all, they were attending an aristocratic gathering. She certainly couldn't walk in wearing her current outfit of a simple top, a short skirt, and black stockings. If she actually dressed like that, it wouldn't just be Freya losing face—it would disgrace the entire gathering. Thus, a beautiful formal dress was standard.
At this moment, Euphy pulled out a long black dress, handed it to Freya, and said excitedly, “Fufu, try this on!”
“Alright.” Although it was her first time handling such clothing, Freya wasn't opposed to it. In fact, she felt a slight urge to try it on. Taking the dress, she headed into the clothing store's fitting room. It had to be said that the dress felt amazing to the touch, incredibly soft and silky.
Freya slowly took off her top and short skirt. When it came to her black stockings, she peeled them off her legs like peeling an eggshell, revealing the fair skin underneath.
After neatly placing her own clothes to the side, Freya finally picked up the formal dress and clumsily slipped into it.
A moment later, when Freya stepped out of the fitting room and walked over to Euphy, Euphy's eyes widened in astonishment. “You look so beautiful!”
The dress perfectly accentuated Freya's already slender waist, and its backless design fully revealed her back. Extending from her shoulder blades down to her spine, it formed a soft, elegant curve. Her fair skin, flushed with a hint of red, looked exceptionally beautiful.
The hem of the dress parted from the mid-thigh down on both sides, showing off Freya's slender, fair legs.
The waist and hem of the dress were adorned with many glittering embellishments, like stars in the night sky, drawing everyone's eyes.
Euphy sized her up from left to right several times. Aside from her chest being a bit flat, there was almost no flaw. Still, Euphy said, “It's beautiful, but this alone isn't quite enough.”
