【Strategy Guide】 Must-Read for Newbies! From Entry to Survival, Taking You Through the Rules of “Anomalous Infection” 【Constantly Updated】
ID: Slack Off Forever
【Preface】: I’m an exploration-type casual player who just got my first S-grade evaluation. I’m no big shot, just an early arrival. The pitfalls I’ve stepped into could wrap around a personal independent space three times over. I’m writing this guide to help my fellow newcomers avoid those traps—after all, in this godforsaken place, staying alive is more important than anything else.
【1. Must-Read Basic Rules (Don’t find me annoying; these can save your life)】
1. On “Death”: Dying in an instance isn’t the end of the world; at worst, your evaluation drops. What’s truly fatal is having “zero points + non-instance period”! When that happens, a point-earning instance is forcefully triggered. You have to clear it to survive; if you fail, you’re gone for good.
2. On “Levels and Attributes”: Initial attributes start at 10, and each level-up grants 1 stat point. Constitution affects HP and carrying capacity, Spirit affects skill usage, and Agility affects evasion. Don’t assign them blindly! Combat classes should prioritize Constitution and Agility, while support or puzzle-solving classes should prioritize Spirit.
3. On “Classes”: You automatically awaken your initial class after clearing your first instance. Some classes require specific conditions. The longer the incubation period, the stronger the class might be, but dragging it out too long isn’t great either. If you die before it finishes incubating, you won’t even have a shoulder to cry on.
【2. Instance Survival Tips (The absolute core)】
1. Don’t wander aimlessly during the introduction stage: The “safe exploration period” at the very beginning of an instance is the golden window for gathering information. Every word from NPCs and every detail in the environment could be a clue.
2. How to get a high instance evaluation: Slaughtering everyone isn’t the only way to get an S-grade! Many instances have hidden clear conditions. For example, puzzle-solving instances focus on exploration progress, survival instances focus on survival time, and team instances also factor in cooperation.
3. On instance availability: Pay attention! Each instance is only open for its current period and will not reopen! So don’t hoard your knowledge. Share your clearance experience—it’s not like you can sell it for money anyway. Besides, the lore and clues from one instance might be useful in another. Doing a good deed never hurts.
【3. A Word on Player Factions (Never let your guard down)】
Regarding factions, they are actually just broad classifications made by players for groups with similar philosophies. There is no official system endorsement. This post merely provides basic definitions; you must judge for yourself whether a player is trustworthy:
1. Fair Trade Faction: They follow the game rules. Their core goal is to accumulate S-grade evaluations and return to reality.
2. Conspiracy Theorists: They believe there is a conspiracy behind the game, question the reality of resurrection, and essentially want to rebel against the system.
3. Hedonists: They have no desire to return to reality and are thoroughly engrossed in their life in the game. Some of them possess a great deal of hidden information.
4. Malicious Outlaws: They find joy in harming other players, especially targeting newbies. They are the most dangerous!
5. Explorers: That’s us! Our main focus is gathering information and recording instance details. Newbies are welcome to ask questions; we offer long-term Q&A in the comments.
【Final Warning】: Don’t fall for get-rich-quick schemes, don’t blindly join groups with strangers, and never easily trust other players inside instances—this place is an opportunity for rebirth, but it is also a man-eating hell. I wish everyone can accumulate ten S-grades and go home soon!
Bai Ci read with rapt attention. Many things in the guide gave her a clearer understanding of this world. She couldn’t help but scroll down to the comment section, which was bustling with questions from newbies and answers from veteran players.
【Floor 2: Just a Wage Slave Wanting to Go Home】: OP is such a good person! Just a reminder to newbies: when your Mental Value gets too low, it’s easy to trigger a confused state. Last time I was confused, I almost hacked my teammates to death. I’m still apologizing to them.
【Floor 5: Loves Eating Strawberries】: Excuse me, OP, can the initial class be changed while it’s incubating? The class I awakened feels so useless. I want to switch to a combat-oriented one.
【Floor 6: OP’s Reply】: You can’t change it directly! You either use a “Class Reset Card” (sold in the shop for 500 points—newbies, don’t even think about it) or let a new class awakened in the next instance overwrite it.
【Floor 82: I Want to Get Rich】: Newbies, don’t buy space expansion items. I’ve collected the entire furniture catalog, and none of the furniture sold by the system provides any attribute buffs. I’m someone who doesn’t want to go back and just wants to enjoy life. For those who do want to return, you’d better spend your points on more useful things.
【Floor 123: Passing Explorer】: Don’t be fooled by the system’s rules! This game isn’t a rebirth at all—it’s consciousness harvesting! I found some documents with strange symbols in a laboratory instance. DM me if you’re interested!
【Floor 124: The World Is Just a Courier Station】: Are the conspiracy theorists trying to stir up trouble again? You guys always bring up those “symbol documents.” If you’ve got the guts, post a screenshot! Newbies, don’t believe him. Just focus on saving up points to clear instances; that’s the only real way out.
Bai Ci patiently read through tens of thousands of replies. During this time, she got so hungry that she had to down a tube of nutrient solution. Although there were over ten thousand replies, many of them were just repeating the same questions.
As for some of the highly critical information, such as how to acquire specific classes, the OP had addressed it directly. Class acquisition was tied to performance within instances. Currently, some classes had already been figured out, but this information was not shared for free. Newbies shouldn’t overthink it for now; veteran players had to find their own paths. He wanted to give newcomers a helping hand, but he wasn’t going to play babysitter.
Because of this, there were several accounts in the thread accusing the OP of hypocrisy for whatever reason. The OP didn’t coddle them either, flaming them back one by one. This flame war was a major reason why the reply count had exceeded ten thousand.
After exiting the newbie guide post, she read the other highly informative posts recommended in the guide. Just like that, the first of her three days passed. Bai Ci now had a general understanding of the game.
As for the more core secrets, people wouldn’t share them for free, and Bai Ci didn’t have any spare points to squander. After some thought, she searched for an analysis of 《The Diary》 instance, wanting to review the foolish mistakes she had made in her first run to adjust her way of thinking.
She typed “The Diary instance analysis” into the search bar. When she clicked search, there were fewer results than she expected—not even ten posts in total. She clicked straight into the one with the most replies.

【Analysis】 《The Diary》 Instance, Sharing Clues and Clear Methods 【Accumulating Good Karma, Posting Even If No One Reads】
ID: Good Luck from All Directions
【Preface】: Just got out of 《The Diary》 instance. Got a C-grade evaluation, which isn't great, but I gathered most of the clues. I’m here to share them. Any brothers from the same instance want to chat?
We started in a little girl’s room. The core clue is right there in the name of the instance (though you can’t even see the instance’s name until it’s over—I really want to stab the system). It’s the diary on the desk in the room.
How many brothers tossed the diary aside and ignored it after reading it once? Raise your hands.
This diary isn’t a one-time clue. It triggers and unlocks new diary entries as the instance progresses and reaches key milestones. If it weren’t for my dumb luck (actually, my terrible memory) causing me to go back and flip through the diary again halfway through, I would have been completely screwed.
【Floor 2: Wage Slave Ah Ming】: Anomalous Infection, I fck& (%)#! Who the hell hides clues like that!
