First, let's learn more about curses and the information related to this instance.
Bai Ci thought.
Although this curse didn't seem to affect her directly, to be safe, it was better to understand how it worked first.
She switched the panel to the player forum page. It was as lively as ever, with various posts constantly flooding the screen.
Bai Ci typed “curse” directly into the search bar and clicked search, bringing up nearly a hundred posts.
Ignoring the help requests and complaints, she sorted them by popularity. Skipping the first post, which simply displayed different types of curses, the one below it was an analysis of the instance's curse mechanics.
The author of this post was an Explorer faction player.
Most of their posts were compiled from the collective discoveries of multiple Explorer players, with the lead player posting the final summary. The content was usually very detailed.

【Analysis】 Universal Across All Instances! Complete Guide to Player Curse Types & Removal Mechanics

Finally, I wish all players encounter gold-tier teammates and get high evaluations every time!】
【Floor 2 OP】: Hello, fellow players. Recently, while browsing the forum, I noticed many brothers can't tell if the curses they've contracted can be cured or if they need to spend points to cure them. So, I decided to open a unified informative thread to build up some good karma for myself.
Pure, useful info. Bookmarking recommended!
【Floor 3 OP】:
First, let's talk about the core classification: Curses that players receive in instances are mainly divided into two types: temporary and permanent.
The simplest, zero-threshold way to tell them apart: look at the percentage suffix of the curse.
Any curse with a percentage after its name is a temporary curse. Otherwise, it is a permanent curse.
【Floor 4 OP】: About temporary curses.
These curses cannot be removed directly with items. They can only be worn down as they trigger, gradually consuming the curse's energy. Once the percentage drops to 0%, the curse will automatically disappear.
Most instance plot curses, NPC grudge curses, and side-quest triggered curses belong to this category.
Key point! They cannot be removed by items, nor can they be removed by player skills.
Players who contract this kind of curse should just honestly consume the curse energy. Don't waste your points for nothing.
【Floor 5 Sweet Tooth】: What about permanent curses? Hurry up and update, OP! [This comment has been collapsed]
【Floor 6 OP】: About permanent curses.
These curses look terrifying, but they are actually the type that can be solved with money.
The shop has items specifically designed to break permanent curses, but the prices are astronomically expensive—easily costing tens of thousands or even hundreds of thousands of points. Average players basically can't afford them.
But the good news is that these curses are mostly inflicted by powerful entities like true gods or ancient evils, so ordinary players rarely encounter them.
【Floor 7 OP】: In summary: if there's a percentage, don't panic—just wear it down slowly. If there's no percentage, don't be afraid either—you can remove it by spending points.
I hope all players won't get scared by curses and waste their points falling into traps.
【Floor 8 Evening Breeze Across Mountains and Rivers】:
Help! My doubts are finally cleared!
In my last instance, I contracted a temporary curse. I almost saved up points to buy an insanely expensive item, but fortunately, I held back.
So the ones with percentages are the safe kind?
【Floor 9 OP's Reply】: Not necessarily. It doesn't work that way.
Some temporary curses have conditions that are very difficult to consume and carry severe consequences. In those cases, they are actually worse than permanent ones, which can be dealt with cleanly.
But if you happen to encounter a temporary curse that is easy to consume, or an instance that is perfect for wearing down that curse, it might disappear after just one or two instances.
...
Seeing this, Bai Ci's heart finally settled.
Her curse, <What is Love>, had 100% marked next to it, making it clearly a temporary curse.
She didn't need to spend an astronomical amount of points to buy a removal item. She just had to wait for the curse's effect to trigger on its own. After who knows how many Rain's Message NPCs died, it would automatically disappear one day.
Mainly, she couldn't buy items anyway—not just because of a lack of points, but also due to her class's mechanics restrictions.
If she had encountered a permanent curse, she would have been stuck with it forever unless she was given a suitable gift.
Having resolved her doubts about the curse, Bai Ci typed “Wisteria Train instance analysis” into the search bar and clicked search again.
This time, most of the posts that popped up were published by players who had participated in the same instance. Some shared their experiences, some analyzed the plot's foreshadowing, and others complained about the difficulty of the instance's boss.
Bai Ci slid her fingertip across the screen, browsing through these posts to see how other players understood this instance.
She clicked on one post that had a fairly high level of discussion.

【Analysis】 Wisteria Train Instance Easy-Mode Strategy! Guaranteed B-rank, with S-rank Speculations
ID: God Won't Save Me and Neither Will I
【I have to say, the Wisteria Train instance is really too friendly. It's one of the friendliest instances I've ever encountered. Low-combat players can easily slide through using the easy-mode strategy, and high-combat players have a clear goal when aiming for a high evaluation.】
【Floor 2 OP】: First, let's talk about my easy-mode process.
After the mudslide happens, don't run around blindly. Follow the dining car attendant NPC. He will take you to a wooden cabin, and then we just hide in the cabin and stay there safely for a few days. You're guaranteed a B-rank.
If you find more clues during this time and learn a bit more, you can even aim for an A-rank.
But knowing the typical nature of Anomalous Infection instances, an S-rank probably requires facing the boss head-on, right? Has any big shot tried fighting the boss? Please share your experience!
【Floor 3 King of Impatience】: That's it? OP, you clickbaiter. The filler in this analysis thread is enough to keep me hydrated for a year.
【Floor 4 OP's Reply】: If you don't use clickbait, you won't lure out the big shots.
【Floor 5 OP】: This kid really wants to know how to beat this instance. I want to see what the heights I can't reach look like. Will some big shot please fulfill my wish?
【Floor 6 Autumn is the Autumn of Spring】: Forget it, forget it. Although the goal is clear, the boss is simply unbeatable.
The four of us in our team are all players who can basically secure a stable A-rank evaluation. We put all our effort into taking on the trainmaster, but in the end, we tried and we died. We got instakilled by the trainmaster, not even a trace of us left.
And because we didn't search for clues carefully, we only got a C-rank in the end. A total loss!
【Floor 7 Misaligned Eyes】: Brother, you're thinking too small.
What if I told you that the trainmaster wasn't even the final boss?
I got lucky in this instance and met a big shot—the legendary Er Xiang, who reportedly already has seven S-rank evaluations.
He led us to analyze clues all the way, completely uncovering the instance's deepest secrets. If the boss wore underwear, the big shot probably would've known its color.
Unfortunately, we lost the final battle, so we only got an A-rank in the end. What a shame.
