Chen Xu took to the sky, the Death Blades manifesting in his hands.
After reaching the mythic-tier, his Bone Angel form had also advanced to the mythic-tier.
Angels were the overlords of the sky, and a mythic-tier angel was its absolute sovereign.
Chen Xu crossed his blades before his chest and transformed into a streak of white light, charging toward the dragons.
Beside him, Flideng gritted his teeth and followed with a massive swarm of ghosts.
Though the dragons included beings like the holy dragon, whose attributes naturally countered ghosts, and red dragons who were masters of fire, Flideng's intervention was bound to be a thankless task.
Furthermore, facing a race like the dragons, who possessed both immense physical and mental strength, engaging them in close-quarters combat was certainly not a wise choice for ghosts.
The best strategy was to stay back and cast spells to disrupt the dragons' incantations.
However, as the Lord of the Undead, Chen Xu was the leader of every undead here, and he had personally charged in. Did Flideng dare to hide in the back?
The Undead Bone Dragons, who were also capable of flight, had long since been engaged in a fierce struggle with the dragons at the front. Flideng felt that if he didn't join the fray now, his future as a ghost would be nothing but bleak.
Thus, relying on his authority as a high-level ghost, he commanded the other ghosts to pounce on the dragons while he remained by Chen Xu's side to block any dragons closing in.
As for Chen Xu, he didn't actually mind.
He was busy wielding the Death Blades, continuously severing the dragons' wings.
Streaks of gray and white light flashed as the sharp scythe blades easily cut through the base of the wings. One dragon after another fell from the sky, tumbling into the undead army below.
"Dragons, converge your mana! Dragon-language magic, Doomsday Meteor!"
Griffinlie raised the thunder spear high and shouted.
The surrounding dragons funneled their mana into Griffinlie, helping him complete this terrifying spell.
Other dragons actively surrounded Chen Xu, exhaling lethal breath and condensing magic in their claws to hurl at him frantically.
Chen Xu glanced at the dragons flying toward him and the golden dragon behind them, holding the thunder spear and radiating a terrifying aura.
He raised his hand and opened the spatial gate to the Undead Kingdom. Over a hundred terrifying Vicious Ghosts rushed out, their soaring baleful aura causing the nearby dragons to fall into hallucinations.
The Vicious Ghosts automatically locked onto the nearest dragons and launched self-detonation attacks. Without dodging or using any techniques, they relied on their protective aura to endure magic and dragon breath, pouncing onto the dragons to frantically tear at their heads.
Resentment, baleful energy, and the desire to kill—various negative energies seeped into the dragons' souls through the ghosts' claws, turning their spirits into a chaotic mess.
Once a dragon was devoured, the Vicious Ghosts quickly switched targets and pounced on the next.
With the dragons attacking him blocked by the Vicious Ghosts, Chen Xu flapped his bone wings and flew straight toward the golden dragon.
Seeing Chen Xu's movement, Griffinlie immediately held his thunder spear horizontally in front of him. In the next instant, a massive force struck the weapon.
Crack!
The thunder spear snapped, but the momentum of the Death Blades didn't slow. They continued to cleave downward, and as the white light flashed, golden dragon blood sprayed out, drenching Chen Xu.
Chen Xu flipped the blades in his hands and thrust upward toward the dragon's head.
The tips pierced in, but the expected penetration didn't occur. A hard substance blocked the blades' progress.
Just as a look of doubt appeared on Chen Xu's face, a blinding golden light erupted from Griffinlie's head, and a terrifying aura belonging to a god swept across the battlefield.
Chen Xu flickered away, distancing himself from Griffinlie.
Griffinlie's eyes glowed with the golden light of faith. The wound stretching from his chest to his abdomen also emitted a faint golden light, healing rapidly.
"Great Dragon God, Dragon God! May your power forever protect the dragon home. In the name of the Dragon God, descend, Divine Domain!"
Griffinlie raised his claws, and the aura of a god erupted from him as a domain belonging to the dragons unfolded in the air.
The dragons enveloped by the domain gained a thin layer of divine light on their scales. In contrast, the ghosts and bone dragons within the domain suffered immense pain.
The ghosts, illuminated by the divine aura, emitted wisps of black smoke from their souls—fragments of spirit being decomposed.
Buds of flesh actually began to grow on the skeletons of the bone dragons. For a bone dragon, having the power of life spread through its body was nothing short of infinite torture.
Fortunately, the domain of the Overlord's Castle was part of the Lord of the Undead's authority. The Divine Domain could not break through it and stopped after expanding halfway.
"Heh, the Dragon God. It's a pity that among the six special worlds, there is no Dragon Realm. When it comes to domains, no one can surpass the six special realms."
Chen Xu retracted his blades and crossed his hands over his chest. His vast angelic divine power compressed infinitely. The bone wings of the Bone Angel began to dissolve bit by bit, turning into feathers that drifted into the air.
The dissolution spread from the wings to the torso and then to the rest of his body.
Griffinlie didn't understand what Chen Xu was doing, but his intuition told him he had to stop it.
Griffinlie's mana erupted, and the previously broken thunder spear was restored. He flapped his wings and raised the spear, cleaving toward Chen Xu.
A dark shadow flew from above. Sindragosa used its hind legs and wings to grab Griffinlie, opened its massive maw, and forced Griffinlie's mouth open with its front claws before blasting a Frost Breath deep into the dragon's body.
Flideng followed closely, erecting an ice wall in the air to block the breath and magic of other dragons.
"Tch, a step too late."
The speed of the Evil Spirit of Ice was still no match for a bone dragon. If it had been the lightning-based Nether Ghost Fire, it would have surely reached the Lord of the Undead first to block the attack. Unfortunately, another chance to show off was gone.
On the other side, the Bone Angel had completely dissolved. Countless white feathers drifted with the wind. Wherever they went, the Dragon God's domain was suppressed. The domain could no longer maintain its integrity and was pierced through by the sky full of feathers.
Some dragons tried to cast magic at the feathers in the air, only to find that the magic couldn't touch them. They switched to dragon breath, but it was equally ineffective. Finally, they tried to touch them with their claws.
However, the moment a feather touched flesh, it stuck tightly. No matter how much they shook, they couldn't break free.
The feathers dissolved into the dragons' claws, and their powerful physical bodies began to dissipate just like the Bone Angel had, with more feathers drifting from their forms.
"Watch out! These feathers are strange. Do not touch them!"
Crack!
The number of feathers completely overwhelmed the Divine Domain, causing it to shatter like a breaking mirror.
Without the restriction of the Divine Domain, the feathers began to drift at high speeds, actively seeking out life in the air.
Seeing this, the dragons could only retreat and dodge, backing up to the walls of the Dragon Court.
Griffinlie swept his thunder spear, knocking Sindragosa aside, then turned to strike again, but Flideng dodged and threw a Frozen Orb in return.
Griffinlie raised a magic shield to block the orb.
But as he looked at the strange feathers around him and his kin wailing as their lives were taken, a hint of cowardice grew in his heart.
Without the Dragon God, it was too much for them to face these bizarre enemies alone.
"Griffinlie, return to the Dragon Court! Lord Dragon God will personally deal with these filthy skeletons!"
The voice of the Dragon God's priest reached him. Griffinlie's eyes lit up, and he dove toward the ground, flying back to the Dragon Court at a low altitude.
Atop the Overlord's Castle, Chen Xu had reverted to his original form. Releasing those Soul-Eating Feathers had exhausted the Bone Angel's energy, and the statue had fallen into a slumber, requiring time to recharge.
However, the Soul-Eating Feathers had formed an Aerial Forbidden Zone, preventing the dragons from using their aerial advantage to wear down the undead army.
As for the hint of divine aura emanating from the Dragon Court, it only made Chen Xu smile.
A god—and one in poor condition at that. It seemed the Goddess of Luck still favored him. First the Sea God, and now the Dragon God; one was asleep, and the other was wounded. Neither was at full strength.
If he could seize the Dragon God's godhead, perhaps he could help Sindragosa ascend to godhood? Though the number of bone dragons was small, it should still work.
But for a god, even one with a weak aura, he still maintained the highest level of respect. He ordered the undead army to retreat and gather toward the Overlord's Castle.
He would first watch the Dragon God, Dragon God perform.
