Chapter 185 | Overtime Necromancy: My Legion Never Sleeps

【Update Content 5: Special Event — Outerworld Dungeon】

【The current stock of dungeons on Blue Star is running low. At the current clearing speed, it is estimated that all will be completed in three years. To ensure professionals have a steady stream of dungeons to increase their strength, a special event has been launched: Outerworld Dungeon.

Professionals can purchase dungeon beacons from the Destiny Customization Shop. Once a professional activates a dungeon beacon outside the world, the Heavenly Dao will mark the world or cosmic sea where the beacon is located and transform it into a clearable special dungeon, namely an Outerworld Dungeon.

The drops and rewards of an Outerworld Dungeon will far exceed those of general dungeons. Furthermore, the Destiny Seeker who activates the beacon will also receive an exclusive pioneer reward (guaranteed legendary-tier item).

At the same time, the Destiny Seeker can set entry conditions for the dungeon, such as nation, tier, guild, and so on.

Currently open Outerworld Dungeon: Starry Sky Battlefield (forced to join the Heaven side). Entry condition: Tier: legendary-tier.】

Chen Xu could hardly believe his eyes; the World Will had actually taken the initiative to join the war.

Who gave it the courage to jump into the battlefield between Heaven and Hell?

Legendary-tier professionals would be nothing more than slightly larger cannon fodder inside. Only those at the mythic-tier would have some ability to protect themselves and reap some benefits from the battlefield.

Chen Xu looked at Xia Qiming and asked.

"Teacher Xia, has anyone from Daxia, or Blue Star, entered this Starry Sky Battlefield?"

"Yes, Longwu went in, but he retreated shortly after. Since then, no one else from Daxia has entered. We also sent messages to other countries to warn them.

But they didn't seem to believe in the danger and entered anyway. We don't know the exact extent of their losses.

However, one item on the Equipment List has already disappeared. Heh, they claimed the item was destroyed after a failed enhancement using a special tool.

But we all know what really happened."

Hearing this, Chen Xu breathed a sigh of relief.

Others might not know the strength of Hell and Heaven, but how could he, who possessed the inherited knowledge of the Lord of the Undead, not know?

Those two factions had traversed myriad worlds for years; a single finger from either could crush Blue Star into a puddle of mud.

He didn't know what madness had gripped the World Will to create such a dangerous thing.

But before Chen Xu could fully relax, Xia Qiming's next words hooked his heart right back up.

"Daxia has decided to wait a few more years, until we have enough mythic-tier powerhouses to form a squad, before entering the Outerworld Dungeon."

"Huh? Teacher Xia, has the World Will put a spell on you? Why are you so obsessed with joining the battlefield between Heaven and Hell? That's no ordinary fight."

Facing Chen Xu's doubt, Xia Qiming gave a response that Chen Xu didn't know how to refute.

"In three years, the dungeons will be cleared. Other than Outerworld Dungeons, we have no other choice if we want to quickly increase our strength.

The world fragments shattered by the Starry Sky Battlefield that drifted outside Blue Star have all been consumed over the years. We can only take the initiative to go deep into the battlefield and use dungeon beacons to capture fragments.

It is easy to go from frugality to luxury, but hard to go from luxury back to frugality. Not everyone is like Ye Bufan, Xiang Longwu, or Zhang Jingping. Even without the assistance of the professional panel, they can forge their own paths relying on their own comprehension and talent.

But for others..."

Xia Qiming did not continue.

He didn't need to; Chen Xu understood. For those without talent or comprehension, the rapid advancement path provided by the professional panel was a honeypot they couldn't leave.

It was indeed sweet, and it indeed made one grow fast, but when the pot ran dry, one had to take risks to find the next one.

Chen Xu sighed, understanding the sentiment. After all, not everyone was a cheater like him. For those without talent or comprehension, the professional system was their ultimate hack.

No one could resist the temptation of a ding, especially when this game granted actual strength rather than simple mental satisfaction.

"Since you've waited years, why not wait a bit longer? My business in the Land of the Undead isn't finished yet. Once I reach the eternal-tier, you'll have a backer when you go to the Starry Sky Battlefield."

Chen Xu had quite a good impression of Daxia.

The internal cohesion of this nation, which had faced a life-and-death crisis for its race, was staggering.

They had once been deep in despair, and what supported them in crawling out was hope—a thirst for hope integrated into the entire race.

This thirst made Chen Xu's life in this world very comfortable. Even with the classic orphan start, he had never felt a hint of loneliness.

Therefore, when he had the strength to help Daxia, Chen Xu was never stingy with his assistance.

It was like playing a game; no matter how many playthroughs you did, there was always that one NPC you would save, and always that one NPC you would skip the dialogue for just to start swinging.

But Xia Qiming, sitting opposite him, was no longer calm. He choked on the soda he had just sipped because of Chen Xu's words.

"Cough, cough!"

Fortunately, professionals had extreme control over their bodies. He quickly cleared the stray soda and looked at Chen Xu with an expression of disbelief.

"What do you mean by waiting until you reach the eternal-tier?"

"What do I mean? Exactly what I said."

Chen Xu didn't understand Xia Qiming's reaction. Why did he look so strange? Shouldn't he be moved after hearing those words?

"And what exactly does 'exactly what I said' mean?"

"It means what it means! Teacher Xia, you didn't take some potion with too much kick, did you?"

Xia Qiming ignored Chen Xu's concern and spoke with a hint of hysteria.

"You mean to say that while others have finally waited for the opportunity of an ultra-tier dungeon to break through to the mythic-tier, you are already preparing to break through to the next tier, the eternal-tier?"

Chen Xu nodded calmly and replied, "Yeah."

"Yeah, my foot! Even for a cheater, this is too ridiculous! How long has it been since you reached mythic-tier? Not even a year. A year! Not sixty years!"

"Hehe, you said it yourself, I'm a cheater. Since I'm cheating, it's normal to be a bit ridiculous. If it weren't ridiculous, would it even count as cheating?"

After hearing this, Xia Qiming slumped straight back into his chair, his body going limp as if he had lost all his strength.

When there's a small gap between people, they compete. When the gap widens, there's jealousy. When it widens to a certain point, jealousy fades, leaving only envy.

When the gap becomes even larger, envy turns into worship. And at the highest level, all emotions vanish because no one would admit the other person is the same species. Since they aren't the same species, there's no need to compare.

Xia Qiming finally saw it clearly. The thing in front of him was just an unknown monster with a human appearance and human speech, definitely not a Blue Star human.

After lying there for a while, Xia Qiming suddenly remembered something and used his last bit of strength to speak.

"The Continent of Wild Beasts has a special product that should pair well with your Ginseng Fruit Tree. It's being studied over at Heavenly Crafts; you can go take a look."
