Chapter 243 | Overtime Necromancy: My Legion Never Sleeps

Just as Karl, the Demon King of Destruction, locked his gaze onto Zhang Jingping, Aaron’s massive, grotesque flesh-ball body shifted, blocking Karl’s line of sight.

Abandoning his previous arrogance, Aaron lowered his heads and spoke to Karl in a sycophantic tone.

“Avatar of destruction, immortal warrior, wielder of the strongest body, ultimate nightmare of a thousand worlds, the most powerful demon walking the universe—great Karl, the Demon King of Destruction, the humble mage Aaron welcomes your arrival. This world is an offering I present to you; everything here is yours to dispose of as you please. This peculiar angel is a subject of my research. I beg your generosity to leave him to me.”

Karl did not respond, silently observing Aaron and Zhang Jingping, his gaze shifting back and forth between the two.

After a moment, Karl dipped his massive head, granting Aaron’s request.

Then, Karl turned his attention toward the distant mage towers and the ritual tracks within the cities.

According to the confession Mogli gave before being devoured by the other demon kings, he had once invaded the Akhan world but was driven out by the power of the mages' towers and ritual tracks.

However, as a battle-hardened Hell Archduke, Mogli had not retreated empty-handed; he had left behind contingencies.

He had planted numerous fallen ones and demons skilled in seduction, such as curvaceous succubi and beautiful banshees.

In short, although Mogli had been driven away, he had never lost the coordinates or his connection to the Akhan world. Corruption had already marked this place.

Mogli had only been too busy contending with Heaven on the Outerworld Battlefield to spare any effort, allowing the Akhan world to survive until now.

When Mogli retreated back to Hell still bearing the marks of Heaven, it incensed the Mother of Hell. In her fury, she crippled him with a single strike.

Then, she allowed the Seven Demon Kings of Hell to devour him.

The Demon King of Destruction had eaten the most, and consequently, he had to take over Mogli’s debt. This world was just the beginning.

Karl intended to use the Akhan world as the starting point for the spread of destruction, pulling all surrounding worlds into the same collapse.

It was a declaration to the myriad worlds that Hell had not declined, and a response to Heaven—after all, the Mother of Hell’s anger had yet to be appeased.

The Seven Demon Kings of Hell had to do something to quench her fury.

Karl took a deep breath, and the resulting suction pulled all the surrounding ruins toward him.

Then, a powerful blast of air erupted from his mouth, sweeping away everything in front of him.

Multiple mage towers were caught in the blast. Their magic shields flickered for only an instant before being shattered, and the towers collapsed in thunderous heaps.

Next, the long, slender tail behind Karl coiled and arched like a spring, brimming with pent-up force.

Boom!

The tail lashed out, piercing into the ground. The terrifying force made the earth tremble, triggering a series of earthquakes.

Karl’s eyes ignited with fire as he injected the Hellfire Seed into the ground through his tail.

Corrupted flames erupted from beneath the earth, incinerating everything in their path.

Molten lava flowed continuously from the fissures, bringing with it intense heat and the stench of sulfur.

In just a few breaths, the Demon King of Destruction had completely altered the ecology of the Akhan world. Such was the terror of an eternal-tier powerhouse; every move brought world-ending devastation.

Karl withdrew his tail and flicked the dirt off it in the air. The resulting sonic boom further ravaged the already shattered ground.

Crimson rays lit up as strong magical fluctuations emanated from Karl’s blood-red skin.

Across the broken land, several Hellgates suddenly appeared. On the other side were hordes of Hell demons, surging like a tide.

As the heavy doors slowly creaked open, these locusts of the worlds rushed in.

They destroyed everything they could see or sense, whether living or dead.

People, animals, plants, buildings—even the rivers were boiled dry.

Having done all this, Karl crossed his arms and waited quietly for the demon army’s movements.

He did not sense any eternal-tier presence in this world; the demon legions under his command would be enough to destroy it.

At that thought, Karl couldn't help but curse.

“Mogli was truly a waste, unable to take down even a broken world like this and getting himself exiled. No wonder he was repelled by a common priest and a nameless undead. Mother was too merciful to let such a failure hold the rank of Hell Archduke.”

After venting his frustration, Karl expanded his soul to cover the entire world, preparing to set up a sacrifice ritual to offer a delicious meal to the great Mother of Hell.

“Eh? So many new world passages? Heh heh heh, this will save me a lot of trouble.”

What Karl had discovered were the world passages leading from the Akhan world to Blue Star—the dungeon entrances on the Blue Star side.

Karl flapped the demonic wings on his back, stirring up a violent storm as he flew toward Daxia City No. 1.

Bang!!!

With a massive crash, Karl was sent flying.

His enormous demon king body skidded across the ground, plowing a bottomless trench into the earth.

Karl climbed to his feet, his mind filled with confusion.

It wasn't until he saw Chen Xu’s clone floating in the air that his eyes filled with even greater bewilderment.

What was this little thing? How was it so strong that it could collide with him and even knock him out of the sky?

One had to know that Karl, the Demon King of Destruction, had achieved his Path through sheer strength. Among all demons, he was the king with the greatest power and the most destructive force.

His title as the Demon King of Destruction had been earned one fist and one claw at a time with this ultimate brute force.

A casual strike could crack a world, and a single breath could stir up a storm that ruined civilizations. These seemingly exaggerated metaphors were all based on solid battle records.

Multiple worlds that had long since perished could bear witness for Karl.

Suddenly, Karl vanished from the ground. In the next instant, he appeared before Chen Xu’s clone, swinging a fist the size of a small hill. The terrifying force and speed compressed the air until it exploded.

Chen Xu’s clone raised his left hand, a vortex appearing in his palm. This was the devouring power borrowed through 【Off-Duty】.

The Kunpeng’s evolution was not yet complete, so the energy of this devouring power sat somewhere between the mythic-tier and the eternal-tier.

But it was enough. The devouring power neutralized most of the impact, and the clone easily withstood the remaining force.

A furious punch from the Demon King of Destruction had been caught effortlessly by the clone, who didn't even budge.

Karl let out an incredulous, angry roar that pierced the clouds, scattering the mists in the sky.

Immediately after, Karl launched a torrential assault. Heavy fists rained down one after another as hellfire surged from his eyes and spread across his entire body.

Violent strength combined with hellfire that could incinerate anything; two ultimate forces fell upon Chen Xu’s clone simultaneously.

The devouring power began to flag, gradually unable to hold its ground, so Chen Xu abandoned his purely defensive strategy.

The primeval power from Zhenyuan and the extreme yang power from Shengyang surged into his body at once, and the clone erupted with a suffocating aura.

His Glazed Body shone brilliantly, flowing with the radiance of the sun. He transformed into a Great Sun, dispelling the heat and corruption of the hellfire.

The primeval power activated the latent strength of the Kirin Arm, and the phantom images of two Kirins—one gold and one red—emerged, granting the clone a massive boost in strength.

The clone clenched his fists and swung back at Karl. Man and demon engaged in a brawl, relying on the most primitive of forces.

The violent shocks from their physical collisions continuously destroyed the surroundings and the already fragile space of the Akhan world.

The two grew more heated as they fought, both focusing entirely on offense, neither able to gain the upper hand.

However, the environment had long since reached its limit. Space fractured, and massive amounts of debris were launched out of the world by the battle, drifting into the Cosmic Sea.

The auras of the demon king and Chen Xu’s clone leaked through the spatial rifts into the Cosmic Sea.

Nearby worlds sensed these two trembling auras and hurriedly reinforced their world membranes with all their might, terrified of being caught in the crossfire.

Time ticked by, and they fought for a full day and night.

The Akhan civilization was no more. The aftershocks of their exchange had destroyed almost everything within the world.

Only ten or so mage towers still stood, and that was only because the Black Knights had intervened.

Outside the mage towers, the undead army poured from spatial gates to battle the Hell demons.

Karl had naturally noticed the undead, but he didn't care. Mogli had been defeated by angels and undead together; since the undead had appeared, he would simply destroy them as well.

Chen Xu himself was busy making preparations within the dozen or so mage towers, inscribing spells like 【God-Slaying Poison】, 【Flower of Death】, and 【Corpse Explosion】.

He held the cores of all the mage towers in his hand, waiting for a single opportunity—the moment the demon king was suppressed by their combined forces.
