Chapter 246 | Overtime Necromancy: My Legion Never Sleeps

Valo’s single sentence directly exposed Chen Xu’s identity.

When Chen Xu had performed soul suppression on Karl, the Demon King of Destruction, Valo had been the closest to Karl. Even though Chen Xu’s target was Karl, Valo could still sense that soul—one that could only be described as terrifying—from such a short distance.

In that instant, the courage filling Valo’s heart actually trembled, and the circulation of holy light within his body momentarily stagnated.

This was a reaction that had only occurred in the past when he faced the rebukes of the Lord of Heaven.

Valo immediately realized that Alifa’s necrotic archduke friend might have told a small lie, being a little too low-key about his realm.

At the same time, Alifa and the other priest behind Valo wore expressions of utter disbelief.

Especially Alifa. As an Angel Priest, his heart had not experienced such ups and downs in a long time.

First, a Hell Demon King was repelled. Then, that same demon king was plotted against and sealed into a soulstone by a mage who wasn't even at the eternal-tier.

And finally, his necrotic friend turned out to be the Lord of the Undead? A supreme powerhouse on the same level as the Lord of Heaven?

His right hand subconsciously touched his secret tome, remembering that it still contained a Covenant of Saint Light signed with Chen Xu.

I, Alifa, actually signed a Covenant of Saint Light with a Lord of the Undead?

Chen Xu nodded slightly, acknowledging Valo’s greeting.

“I thank the three of you for traveling so far to assist. It was with the support of three priests that the Demon King of Destruction fell here today.”

“Your Excellency is too kind. Even without us, with Your Excellency’s unique-tier power, a mere demon king is nothing more than a clown in your eyes.”

Valo was extremely humble. In his mind, this siege battle against the demon king was a deliberate gesture of goodwill from Chen Xu toward Heaven, intended to bring the two sides closer together.

Otherwise, Chen Xu’s behavior made no sense. Why would a unique-tier existence seek help from Heaven for a single Hell Demon King?

It sounded baffling. Any normal creature with a regular head—not a pointed one—couldn’t possibly make up such a thing.

Unless this Lord of the Undead wanted to use the life of a Hell Demon King to announce to the myriad worlds that the undead and Heaven would become the firmest of allies, crusading against Hell together.

Only this possibility could explain Chen Xu’s actions.

Chen Xu was unaware of this. Although his soul was powerful, it wasn't appropriate to perform a soul search on an Angel Priest. After all, the primary enemy right now was Hell.

He turned his head to look at his clone, which was using the power of devouring to absorb the surrounding necrotic, corruption, and holy light auras to replenish its strength.

This action reminded Chen Xu that although the Akhan world was ruined, it hadn't completely perished.

The environment here was clearly no longer suitable for ordinary creatures to survive, but the world itself could still be refined.

The size of the Akhan world far exceeded Blue Star. Thanks to the disaster from long ago that brought a massive amount of world fragments, Akhan’s world power was extremely abundant.

However, Chen Xu felt it was better to be cautious and first ask about Heaven’s usual practices.

If he refined it on the spot only for Heaven to judge him as being in league with Hell, that would be unfortunate.

Thus, Chen Xu turned back to Valo and inquired.

“Your Excellency Priest of Courage, what does Heaven usually do with a world that is near destruction and corrupted by hellfire?”

“Your Excellency, for such worlds, Heaven usually refines them again to extract pure world source, which is then injected into other normal worlds or used to reshape the world.”

It seemed Heaven also practiced refining, so there was no issue.

After receiving the reply, Chen Xu reached out with his large hand and pressed against the void, his soul power enveloping the entire Akhan world.

The three including Valo understood the intent. The light wings on their backs flapped as they transformed into streaks of light, heading out into the Cosmic Sea.

Next, power originating from the [World] Dao principles was mobilized by Chen Xu. Chains of Dao principles formed, gradually wrapping around the entire Akhan world.

“Should I give it to the Undead Dao Court or the Land of the Undead?”

Chen Xu hesitated. Both worlds could merge with the Akhan world, and both would provide him with an upgrade.

After thinking it over, Chen Xu decided to merge it into the Undead Dao Court. The Undead Dao Court had the potential to create a new world in the later stages; increasing its foundation might make the new world even more powerful.

A spatial gate opened, releasing a massive amount of suction that slowly pulled in the Akhan world, which was bound by the Dao principle chains.

The entire world was compressed into a long strip by the power of the Dao principles, and a continuous stream of world power poured into the Undead Dao Court.

【The Undead Dao Court has received an injection of world source; space expanded, spirituality increased.】

...

A massive number of panel notifications popped up, nearly dozens every second.

The size of the Undead Dao Court was also expanding rapidly, and the concentration of necrotic aura in the air rose swiftly. Because the space was not as large as the Land of the Undead, the concentration of necrotic aura soon surpassed it.

As the Akhan world was continuously devoured by the Undead Dao Court, the necrotic aura concentration spiked, gradually reaching a limit.

Suddenly, a massive amount of necrotic aura was pulled by a mysterious force and sank into the ground.

The necrotic aura compressed rapidly, turning from a gas into a liquid, forming underground rivers.

A long time passed. The three Angel Priests in the cosmos had already left. Chen Xu sensed briefly that Alifa had gone to the Xufa World alone, while the other two had returned to Heaven.

By this point, the world refining progress was only one-third complete. The space of the Undead Dao Court had already doubled. The underground rivers formed from necrotic aura had grown from mere trickles into great rivers and rose above the ground.

After a while longer, the speed of the world refining became faster and faster. The time taken for the remaining two-thirds was much shorter than the first third.

The concentration of necrotic aura continued to rise. Liquefaction could no longer contain it, and a large amount of liquid settled underground, forming solid ore. Veins of grayish-white necrotic stone mines began to take shape.

A total of nine large necrotic stone mines were formed, each with several small branches.

Above the intersection of these nine large necrotic stone mines, a super giant Necrotic Archmage Tower actually generated out of thin air. Chen Xu counted and found it had a full thousand floors.
