Chapter 89 | Overtime Necromancy: My Legion Never Sleeps

Deep in the ocean, within a grove known as the Shell Forest.

"Lady Vashj, over a hundred Sea God altars have been destroyed suddenly."

"What! Those stupid naga, I knew collaborating with them would never lead to anything good. The Sea God has already fallen into a deep slumber, and we lose an altar every time one is used. Damned naga."

Vashj, the merfolk witch, was absolutely furious. As a Sea God Priestess, her status was inextricably linked to the deity.

Currently, the Sea God was slumbering due to his injuries, and only the pure faith gathered within the Sea God altars could accelerate his healing.

Vashj did not care about the alliance between the merfolk and the naga, nor did she care about the so-called Naga King, the 'Tyrant.' She only cared about the Sea God.

Therefore, upon hearing of the loss of so many Sea God altars, Vashj, who was already dissatisfied with the alliance, was instantly pushed to her breaking point.

"Cowardly and pitiful Louise, you are not fit for the throne of the merfolk queen." Vashj looked toward the west, where the palace of the merfolk queen was located.

"You have brought shame upon the Sea God. Those who abandon the Sea God do not deserve the throne. Now that such a great loss has occurred, let us see how those old fossils protect you."

Vashj gnashed her teeth and dismissed her attendants before heading toward the merfolk main city alone.

The Sea God had been the faith of the merfolk for tens of thousands of years. With such a massive loss, Vashj was confident she could stir up public opinion against the queen in the palace.

She was a noble Sea God Priestess. She only allowed the Sea God to be above her, not a queen, a Naga King, or a bunch of random elders who thought they could order her around.

Anyone who hindered the revival of the Sea God would be her enemy unto death.

On the other side, the naga also received news of the situation on the London front.

When a naga scout reported the sea race's defeat to the naga commander, Nask, a surge of oceanic power erupted from the palace. Flowing out with it was the scout, who had already been turned into a pulp.

"The Naka, Nas, and Naha tribes are to mobilize immediately. I want to see just how capable these land-dwelling races really are." Nask picked up his weapon and walked out of the palace.

"Also, send someone to tell Louise that the merfolk must also dispatch the forces of three tribes."

"Tell her that the mercy of our king, Tyrant Nasra, is limited. If she continues to send those old merfolk who cannot even release a stable spell to make up the numbers, she will have to bear the consequences herself."

Soon, the naga army finished assembling. The combined forces of three major naga tribes totaled nearly a million.

"March!"

Nask brandished his massive trident and set out toward Yinglun.

...

Kingdom of Yinglun, the London coast.

Under the powerful offensive of the Kunpeng squad, the sea race along the coast of Yinglun was either dead or wounded.

First, they were mysteriously blown out of the water by the explosions of the Sea God altars. Before they could even react, they were swallowed whole by four massive creatures with gaping maws.

Many other members of the sea race were affected by the explosions but were lucky enough not to be blown out of the water. They reacted quickly and immediately launched an interception against the Bone Kuns, trying to stop them from swimming toward the next Sea God altar.

However, the massive difference in size made the gap in strength far too wide. The Bone Kuns could send any approaching sea race members flying just by normally swaying their bodies while swimming.

High-tier naga and merfolk had tried to gather their casters to release powerful spells against the Bone Kuns.

But Kunpeng only had eyes for those delicious Sea God altars, and as its subordinates, the other Bone Kuns naturally followed closely behind.

As a result, before the naga and merfolk casters could even finish condensing their spells, their enemies had already moved several kilometers away, far beyond their range.

The situation on land was even more pathetic.

They had originally relied on numerical superiority to suppress Yinglun. Once the reinforcements from the sea stopped, the Yinglun troops immediately reclaimed control of the battlefield.

At the London coast, where reinforcements first stopped, the mages of Yinglun were already rebuilding their mage towers.

Chen Xu was quite interested in this foreign technology and approached for a closer look.

Some Yinglun officials tried to stop him, as these mage towers were considered the highest level of Yinglun's technology.

"There is no need to stop him. Let Lord Chen Xu observe. Lord Jones, please accompany him. If Lord Chen Xu has any questions, you can explain them to him."

"As you command, Your Majesty."

"But, Your Majesty, this is the top technology of our Great Yinglun. To just let..."

Before the official voicing his opposition could finish, he was silenced by the calm, cold, and emotionless gaze of Elizabeth VI.

"If you could reach the level of a Daxia titled expert at the age of eighteen, I would agree with your ideas, Horus. However, neither you nor anyone in your family can achieve that."

"This is not the order of the old era. This is the rise of the transcendent, where power is respected above all else. At least for now, humanity has a common enemy, and we have a chance to become friends."

"And friends need a foundation of goodwill. The mage towers before us are that opportunity. Do you understand?"

Rebuked by Elizabeth VI, Horus bowed his head and replied weakly, "Yes, Your Majesty."

In the era of dungeons, the advantages that a former great power like Yinglun once held had vanished.

Compared to the vast territory of Daxia, the number of dungeons allocated to Yinglun's land was simply not on the same level.

While fewer dungeons meant it was safer, it also meant fewer transcendent resources and fewer top-tier experts that could be cultivated.

As of now, the number of top-tier experts in Yinglun was far inferior to that of Daxia.

This was why Elizabeth VI wanted to make a 'friend' of Chen Xu, even going so far as to propose a slightly exaggerated reward.

As a member of the royal family, Elizabeth VI had studied many Daxia history books since she was a child, and she particularly liked one classic proverb.

Those who accept gifts are bound by them.

As long as a relationship based on mutual interest was established, there was a chance to become friends.

As night fell, a murderous aura emerged.

Kunpeng had already finished its buffet journey and was floating on the surface of the sea with its belly up, surrounded by the other four Bone Kuns.

On the shore, the light emitted by the mage towers illuminated the entire coastline.

Suddenly, a massive trident shot out from the depths of the ocean at high speed. It moved so fast that even the mage towers could not lock onto it.

It struck the Bone Kun closest to the sea directly, and the powerful impact actually sent it flying into the air.

Fortunately, although the force was great, it only left a few ugly scratches about twenty centimeters deep without piercing the armor.

This sudden attack instantly ignited Kunpeng's fury. It flipped its body, poked its head out of the water, and opened its massive mouth, intending to swallow the trident.

A terrifying suction force enveloped the trident, pulling it toward Kunpeng's mouth. Just as it reached its teeth, blue light pulsed from the trident, and another force pulled from the depths of the sea, trying to yank it back.

One sucked while the other pulled, and the two forces were locked in a stalemate.

"Hmph! Such a strange sea beast. Naga, charge!"

Seeing that his weapon was stuck and could not be retracted, Nask directly ordered the naga forces to attack.

Over a million naga warriors and mages charged toward the Yinglun coast.

These were not the ordinary members of the sea race from before. Each one was an elite warrior from the major naga tribes, wielding magical weapons and possessing the strength of seasoned veterans.

The naga casters in the army gathered together, condensing spells while moving. A massive amount of magical energy converged, targeting the mage towers on the coast.

"There is an abnormal energy convergence beneath the sea! Watch out for an enemy attack!"

This massive magical energy also alerted the people of Yinglun.

They had previously thought the commotion near the Bone Kuns was just Chen Xu's summoned creatures playing with each other and had ignored it. After a long day, they were finally getting some rest.

But now, the warning from the mage towers forced them into action.

The mage towers in the center operated at full power, casting light spells to illuminate the sea surface.

Instantly, the light drove away the darkness, but it also revealed the naga.

"Enemy attack! Enemy attack!"

The only response the people of Yinglun received was a large-scale spell cast by the naga mages.

A massive wave, twenty meters high, suddenly surged from the calm sea and crashed toward the shore at an incredible speed.

The mage towers operated at full capacity, continuously firing spells into the wave.

However, compared to the power of nature, it was all in vain.

The giant wave fell, leveling the mage towers that the Yinglun troops had worked all day to build.

Countless naga warriors emerged from the giant wave, slaughtering the Yinglun soldiers on the shore.

"For the Naga King! For the Tyrant!"

The tribe priests among the naga shouted loudly. A red glow appeared in the eyes of the naga charging at the front, their muscles bulging as their charging speed increased even further.
