Chapter 120 | Please Stop Possessing Me, Lord Evil God!

"But I have two conditions," she said.

"First, send me immediately to the entrance of that gate."

"Second, send my friend to a safe place."

Even facing a god, Grinya still had the courage to bargain.

Aside from Lord Xun Shen, she no longer worshiped any deity.

Gods did not love the people of the world at all, so why should she harbor any expectations for these cold, indifferent beings?

In her heart, she no longer viewed them as gods, but merely as powerful lifeforms.

A god who loves people is a true god.

Aside from that, so-called gods were merely sources of corruption spreading their filth.

"Very well." The God of Order glanced at Gexi, who had been keeping her eyes tightly shut and muttering, "I can't see anything, I can't understand anything."

Then He gazed at Grinya again with those eyes containing the starry sky and said, "In all these years, you are the first human who is not afraid of me. I think I understand why Xun Shen chose you as His vessel."

"You are indeed a very interesting individual. If you are willing, I could choose you to be my divine envoy, provided you abandon the god you currently believe in."

"That is impossible. I will never abandon Lord Xun Shen," Grinya said firmly, without the slightest hesitation.

"Oh? You refuse me? Do you know that by becoming my divine envoy, you can obtain power close to that of a god? At that point, closing that gate would be as simple as moving a finger. Besides, you don't even understand what Xun Shen's faith truly represents. Why are you so steadfast in your belief in Him?" the God of Order asked, perplexed.

"I didn't know what Lord Xun Shen's divine title meant before, but I don't care to think about it that much," Grinya said without fear.

"Lord Xun Shen is Lord Xun Shen; His name doesn't need to have a meaning. Whether He is an evil god or a righteous god, as long as He is willing to keep humanity in His heart, we will naturally hold Him high. He is far more open and honorable than you pseudo-gods who only rely on slogans! Lord Xun Shen has no need for such empty titles!"

The God of Order was momentarily speechless. Since His birth, this was the first time He had been left at a loss for words.

It was also the first time He had been called a pseudo-god, and by a lower lifeform at that.

However, He did not grow angry. On the contrary, He found this perspective quite interesting.

"You are indeed interesting. And that god of yours is also quite interesting."

He spoke with a smile.

He raised His hand again and snapped His fingers. Accompanied by a vast divine power that surged like a violent tide, two currents of divine energy fell upon Grinya and Gexi respectively.

"My blessing is granted to you. I hope you can stop that evil god," He said with a smile.

Grinya was bathed in that warm light. She took a deep look at the God of Order.

At the moment she was about to disappear, she suddenly said, "God of Order, I actually know that this transaction is unfair."

The God of Order's expression visibly stiffened.

Grinya continued, "You only seek order, but you never seek fairness."

At this moment, Gexi opened her eyes somewhat blankly. She felt distinct changes occurring in her body while looking at Grinya with confusion. Finally, she looked toward the God of Order.

The black-robed figure, who was crystal clear in Grinya's eyes, appeared as nothing more than a blur of light to Gexi.

Gexi froze for a moment.

In the next second, both her and Grinya's figures vanished from the spot simultaneously.

Watching the two disappear from this white space, the God of Order's expression turned deep, His thoughts unreadable.

At that moment, an azure light ball streaked through the air like a shooting star.

"Order, oh Order, how does it feel to have your little trick exposed by a human? Are you in a terrible mood?"

The light ball laughed gloatingly.

"The great power you promised her was already given to her by the god she believes in. I don't believe you failed to see that her human body has undergone an earth-shaking transformation."

"As for the divine status, that's even more ridiculous. That item in the human girl's hand already granted her a divine status equivalent to a god's, allowing her to resist corruption. The divine status you bestowed was entirely redundant."

"As for your blessing, it's not even worth mentioning. Before the gate is fully opened, forget the Plague God—even the God of Chaos wouldn't be able to emerge from within."

"So this so-called equivalent exchange of yours sounds like a real joke coming from a god named Order."

The light ball laughed harder and harder, almost unable to stop.

The God of Order glanced at the laughing light ball and said, "So what? She still agreed to the transaction."

"I never expected a human to be able to prevent the opening of the gates of the abyss."

"The Plague God is not even worth mentioning. What is truly terrifying is Chaos. What I must prevent is the descent of Chaos."

The God of Order gave a cold laugh and continued, "The only one who can stop Chaos is me. I cannot leave the hope of stopping Chaos to a human. And this thing..."

He tossed the lucky charm bag in His hand and said, "Perhaps it can also allow my avatar to descend into that world. Only if I descend will there be a chance to stop Chaos."

The light ball laughed. "I don't see it that way. Between a fully descended God of Chaos and an avatar of the God of Order with only a fraction of his power, it seems the opponent would have the advantage no matter how you look at it."

The God of Order's expression turned cold.

But He did not offer a rebuttal.

"Therefore, I am more inclined to believe in that god from the future world," the light ball said.

"Him?" The God of Order snorted coldly. "He comes from the future. On what basis do you think He can interfere with the past?"

"But hasn't what He's been doing always been influencing the past from the future?" the light ball chuckled.

"But that requires a medium. To influence the past from the future, even a god needs a medium to communicate between the two. Without that human as a vessel to carry His consciousness, He wouldn't be able to interfere here at all."

"And to stop Chaos, He would at least need to descend in His true form. But what makes you think that human vessel is currently capable of carrying His true form for a full descent?"
