Chapter 49 | Please Stop Possessing Me, Lord Evil God!

However, the gacha pulls weren't entirely fruitless; besides a golden character card, there was also a purple-tier item.

It was a sheet of paper torn from some book.

【God's Perception (Equipment)】

【Upon being equipped by a character, it grants immunity to mental interference from gods and below.】

Feels pretty weak.

It only grants immunity to mental interference without adding a single stat. He couldn't understand what use this effect could possibly have. Was this kind of effect really worth the purple quality?

Since this piece of paper didn't conflict with the weapon equipment slot, Lu Xun casually equipped the Peerless Fencer with 【God's Perception】.

But the more he looked at this thing called 【God's Perception】, the more familiar it seemed.

He felt like he had seen it somewhere before, but not many times.

"Gurgle..."

Lu Xun's stomach growled betrayingly.

He checked the time and realized it was already 3:30 PM.

He froze for a moment. "Have I really been playing for this long?"

Suddenly, he seemed to remember something and sprang up from his chair. "Holy crap, wait, isn't there an exam tomorrow?"

He logged out of the game with lightning speed and scrambled through his drawers to find a thick textbook. This was the meticulously refined revision manual he had bought from Lin Huai yesterday for twenty yuan!

All the exam points and original questions had been circled. As long as he stayed up all night to copy everything onto a small cheat sheet, passing the exam would be a piece of cake.

"Huh? Why is this page torn out? Damn that Lin Huai, he actually sold me a defective product!"

Lu Xun cursed loudly.

...

In a dormitory at Donghai University, Lin Huai was sitting in his seat playing Honor of Kings when he suddenly couldn't help but sneeze.

"Who's talking smack about me?" He sniffed and asked in confusion.

The dormitory door was pushed open, and Zhou Xiang returned. He had gone on a date with his girlfriend right after finishing his morning exam and only returned in the afternoon.

"Hey brothers, how was the exam today? Everyone passed, right?" Zhou Xiang said.

"No problem, simple stuff. They were all original questions that were circled in class. I memorized them ages ago." Lin Huai tilted his chin up slightly.

"Passing is simple enough, but..." Shen Zhixu, who was sitting in the corner, paused with a hesitant look on his face. "But today, Lu Xun really didn't show up for the exam. Instructor Guo kept calling him, but couldn't get through."

Lin Huai shrugged and said indifferently, "Don't blame me. I did my best, I even lent him my book."

"Looks like Lu Xun will have to take the make-up exam."

"Old Zhou, in our school, you can't take a make-up exam if you missed the original one."

"..."

...

The Evil God had departed.

Grinya Loran shook her somewhat stiff arms.

Truthfully, she really wanted to expose the fake Princess Ruiya's identity in public. However, since the Evil God had chosen to let the person go, she naturally couldn't go against his decision.

Although she had watched this Wuxin Island trial from a third-person perspective throughout, the trial always gave her a strange feeling.

Especially that bizarre entity summoned by the fake Princess Ruiya at the end. In her eyes, it was a mass of foggy abyss that she couldn't see clearly, and a single glance had almost brought her mind to the brink of collapse.

She seemed to remember that the fake Princess Ruiya had mentioned that entity's name.

Grinya froze suddenly.

"The name she mentioned seemed to be one of the five evil gods, the God of Chaos..."

"I remember the goal of the God of Chaos is to plunge the entire universe into disordered chaos... No! Something this big must be reported to the sin hunting bureau!"

Just as she moved her feet, a scrap of paper suddenly appeared out of thin air in her palm. The paper looked as ordinary as if it had been casually torn from a textbook.

But what was special was the writing on it.

That kind of writing was extremely foreign to Grinya. She didn't recognize those strange symbols and characters at all, yet she felt like she had seen similar symbols somewhere before.

It was during the theory test!

The things the Evil God wrote while controlling her body were very similar to the symbols on this piece of paper!

Grinya said in a daze, "Could this be a gift bestowed upon me by the Evil God?"

She held the light scrap of paper, her heart filled with immense complexity.

"I understand. The Evil God means for me not to worry about these things. I only need to do what I should do."

She took a light breath, her eyes turning determined in the next second.

Suddenly, her gaze caught the hurried figure of Princess Ruiya. She was looking around, looking as guilty as if she were secretly doing something that couldn't see the light of day.

But the strange thing was that despite Princess Ruiya looking all around her, she still didn't notice Grinya standing in the shadows of the corner.

Grinya: "..."

She suddenly understood the Evil God's words from before.

This generation of humans had indeed regressed, at least in terms of their eyesight.

Watching Princess Ruiya leave sneakily, Grinya hesitated for a moment before choosing to follow.

She followed Princess Ruiya out of the academy and onto the busy streets, but the route suddenly turned toward a secluded path.

Grinya hesitated for a moment but still chose to follow.

Although she couldn't beat this fake Princess Ruiya, she was betting that the other party was blind enough not to see her.

She didn't know how far they had walked, moving from the Second Ring district of Yiertaya toward the outskirts. Grinya's heart grew increasingly uneasy.

The nearby buildings were no longer tall and exquisite. It was a stretch of old urban areas where the stones on the walls were deeply decayed and covered in moss. Most of the buildings were even abandoned and no longer inhabited.

"Where exactly is she going?" Grinya wondered.

Until Ruiya arrived in front of a long-abandoned church, she stopped and then clasped her hands together, chanting a prayer in a low voice that Grinya couldn't understand.
