Ever since he helped Sevira that day, she had been following Tyr around like a little tail, just like the three kids back in Wayne Village.
Watching Sevira skip along beside him, Tyr couldn't help but recall the first time he had noticed her.
That day, a few relatively strong reserves were bullying Sevira as usual. Faced with a situation she was all too familiar with, Sevira hadn't chosen to curl up and endure it in silence. Instead, she locked onto one person and lunged straight at them.
Punching, kicking, hair-pulling, and even biting—in the end, although Sevira was still pinned down and beaten, she had managed to put up a real fight.
This was one of the main reasons Tyr eventually chose to help her. He detested people who wallowed in self-pity and gave up on themselves.
Honestly, Tyr couldn't see any point in helping those kinds of people.
I'm clearly the one helping you, yet in the end, it feels like I'm the one who owes you.
But what truly made Tyr decide to help Sevira was when he walked past her. She had looked up with a dirty little face, smiling at him without a care in the world, and said, “Hello.”
As someone who was being bullied, she didn't project her negative emotions onto others.
Having been in the Sword Prison for so long, Tyr felt he had a decent understanding of the other reserves' personalities. In truth, they were very similar in many ways.
For instance, they were all incredibly cold, constantly exuded a hostile aura, and possessed an innate arrogance.
But Sevira... she didn't seem like someone from the Callis family at all.
Perhaps it was because of this that when Tyr saw Sevira being bullied again later, he stepped in and taught those people a lesson.
And then he heard those words: “Thank you, Big Sister.”
...
Inside the medicinal bathhouse.
Tyr sat cross-legged in the medicinal barrel, silently running the Sword Qi Body Tempering Technique.
A previous attempt had allowed Tyr to discover that cultivating the Sword Qi Body Tempering Technique while soaking in the medicinal bath could accelerate the absorption of the medicinal properties.
Now, Tyr's absorption speed was more than twice as fast as before.
As the stinging pain on his body faded, Tyr stood up and climbed out of the barrel.
“I didn't expect you to figure out how to use the Sword Qi Body Tempering Technique to speed up the absorption of the medicinal bath on your own,” the man said, his tone filled with surprise as he watched Tyr climb out of the barrel so early.
“Mr. Kadeen, why didn't you just tell us this method directly?”
During his days here, Tyr had also figured out the identities of several people. The elderly man on the first floor of the pharmacy was named Edmond Lorrain, a master pharmacist.
The ones supervising their medicinal baths were Kadeen Lemeire and Rosalind Berry, both of whom were Master Edmond's apprentices.
“For fear that you would pass out directly from the pain.”
“Uh, I see.”
Tyr nodded. When using the Sword Qi Body Tempering Technique to accelerate the absorption of the medicinal properties, he had indeed felt the pain in his body intensify.
After fully absorbing the medicinal properties, Tyr went downstairs and walked toward the training field.
“To think he figured out how to accelerate the absorption of the medicinal properties on his own so quickly. What a clever little guy,” Edmond murmured in front of the laboratory bench, looking up at Tyr's departing back.
When Tyr arrived at the training field, a beautiful woman was standing beside Ed.
She had exquisite features, snow-white skin, and a cold, elegant temperament. Her silver-white hair hung down to her waist, and she had a tall, well-proportioned figure. Her crimson eyes held not a shred of warmth.
She wore a battle dress woven in black and red, with rubies at her waist accenting the dark fabric. Silver knight's pauldrons sat atop a black cloak.
Even though she was still some distance away from Tyr, he could already feel a powerful sword intent washing over him.
Tyr's arrival caught the attention of both of them. The woman slowly walked over to him.
“Who are you?”
“Tyr Callis.”
“Are you Uncle Lanier's son?” A trace of softness appeared on the woman's face, and she reached out to place a hand on Tyr's head. “Luna Callis. You should call me Big Sister.”
“Big Sister.”
“Yes.”
Luna nodded and turned back to the training field.
With a wave of her hand, numerous longswords appeared in midair. Then, pressing her palm downward, she sent the longswords plunging into the training field.
All of these swords were spoils of war Luna had seized from her enemies.
Looking at the longswords in the training field, Tyr really wanted one.
Lately, his progress with the Sword Qi Body Tempering Technique had yielded some minor results. He wanted to see what would happen once he connected all the acupoints throughout his body.
Would it accelerate the body tempering process, or would it render the Sword Qi Body Tempering Technique completely useless?
To test his hypothesis, he needed sword qi.
He didn't dare experiment directly inside the training field; the sword qi in there was too intense and dense. If things went wrong, he might end up crippling himself.
Therefore, he needed a sword. The sword qi generated by a single sword would be within his range of control.
Seemingly sensing the desire in Tyr's eyes, Luna flicked her slender hand. A longsword flew out from the training field and hovered in front of Tyr.
“This sword is yours.”
“Ah, thank you.”
Tyr caught the hovering longsword with both hands and thanked Luna.
“You're welcome.”
Without much further conversation, Luna turned and left the training field.
“Why are you here so early today?” Ed was somewhat surprised by Tyr's arrival time. He suddenly realized that Tyr seemed to be coming earlier and earlier lately.
“I used the Sword Qi Body Tempering Technique to accelerate the absorption of the medicine.”
“You actually thought of using the Sword Qi Body Tempering Technique this way so quickly? Even Lady Luna only figured it out after nearly a month.”
It wasn't because the other members of the Callis family lacked comprehension and couldn't think of this application of the Sword Qi Body Tempering Technique. Rather, it was because the medicinal bath was simply too painful.
In most cases, people only started letting their minds wander to other ideas after they had adapted to the pain in the barrel.
Of course, even if they couldn't figure it out on their own, Kadeen would eventually tell them about this method later on.
“Is Big Sister very strong?” Tyr recalled the feeling of Luna standing before him just now; it felt as though a sword itself was standing in front of him.
“Of course. Lady Luna is the first candidate of your generation, and she already has the magic power level of the Fifth Circle.”
The ordering of these candidates wasn't strictly based on strength but rather their age. However, Luna was indeed the strongest among her cohort back then.
“I see,” Tyr said, nodding.
But on second thought, the strongest of their generation was already at the Fifth Circle, while they had only just begun their training. Was there really any possibility of catching up?
