Chapter 141 | Reincarnated as a Heretical Nun

It was here. It was finally here.

Olivia smiled as she looked at Count Gerard, whose gaze grew deeper in that moment.

Recruiting for the Rose Legion was inherently a risky endeavor, especially within the borders of the Holy Kelidos Empire.

Because the Rose Legion itself was considered heretical, unrecognized by the church and reviled by the populace.

Under such circumstances, if a member of the Rose Legion mentioned their affiliation, there was a high probability it would invite hostility or even a report to the authorities.

Therefore, members of the Rose Legion did not reveal their identities lightly. They would only disclose such information after understanding a target well enough to ensure they could become one of their own.

Of course, there were times when the Rose Legion miscalculated.

But if a judgment proved wrong, it did not matter; they always ensured that their strength on-site was superior to the other party's.

In other words, if the judgment was wrong and the other party had no intention of joining the Rose Legion, then... they would naturally handle the other party's existence directly from a physical level.

Thus, Count Gerard was quite at ease. He looked at Olivia with a composed gaze and said, "We are members of the Rose Legion."

After speaking the organization's name, he fixed his gaze on Olivia's eyes, wanting to see her reaction.

Olivia put on a pensive look. "The Rose Legion... I have heard of it. Although it is an organization primarily active within the Holy Kelidos Empire, it is not entirely unknown in the outside world."

Seeing this, Gerard asked, "And how is the Rose Legion viewed in the outside world?"

"With a mix of praise and criticism, though I believe most organizations are like that. However... within the Holy Kelidos Empire, the Rose Legion's situation is likely quite difficult, isn't it? Do you want me to join the Rose Legion?" Olivia asked with a smile.

Hearing Olivia's words, even Gerard found it difficult to gauge her attitude for a moment.

He could only say, "You are very well-suited to join the Rose Legion, which is why I am extending this invitation, Miss Stella."

"I am familiar with the Rose Legion's principles," Olivia said unhurriedly. "Even I have to admit that I might indeed be quite a good fit for the Rose Legion. But I believe you also understand, Count, that becoming a member of the Rose Legion carries great risks. It means standing in opposition to the church."

"So you are unwilling?"

"No, what I mean is that I require sufficient guarantees."

Olivia remained composed and continued, "I am very happy to work with a group of like-minded people. I believe it would be a pleasant process.

"For that, even taking some risks is not a problem.

"But the risk cannot be too high; it cannot make me like cannon fodder that disappears in the blink of an eye.

"I have no intention of ending my young life prematurely. If possible, I want to see more of the world's scenery. I plan to live to be at least a hundred years old.

"Therefore, I need safety."

As Olivia finished speaking, Gerard understood her meaning.

He knew that getting this wealthy young lady to join the Rose Legion should not be an issue.

"Safety is, of course, not a problem," Gerard spoke leisurely. "As you can see, I am a count, a noble of significant standing. This means I have sufficient power to maintain matters regarding safety.

"I think you can understand how much power a count has in Kaliron.

"And I am not the highest-ranking person in the organization.

"In fact, some individuals of extremely high status are also members of the Rose Legion.

"Of course, I cannot tell you who they are yet. That would require you to hold a higher status and position within the organization."

Olivia grew thoughtful.

The reason the church had sent her to go undercover in the Rose Legion and investigate its affairs was primarily due to the suspicion that members of the royal family might be involved.

This was no small matter. If this was true, it was equivalent to the royal family betraying the church.

Gerard's words were highly suggestive. Who exactly was this person of the highest status he spoke of?

Did it truly point toward someone in the royal family?

Olivia smiled. "High status is certainly reassuring, but it is not enough.

"After all, we are all people of the transcendent world. Transcendent power is what is truly reliable.

"So, Count, what level has the Rose Legion's peak combat power reached?"

Gerard shook his head. "Miss Stella, you are asking a sensitive question. That is not something that can be shared casually. I can only tell you that we do not lack high-level class rank transcendents."

Olivia's eyes flickered upon hearing this.

"And what about yourself, Count Gerard?" Olivia asked.

"I am a Domainist," Gerard said, making no secret of his class rank.

Above the Sensate is the Transcender, and above the Transcender is the Domainist!

A transcendent of this class rank masters a domain and possesses immense power, capable of crushing any enemy who has not reached that level.

Olivia pondered for a moment before saying, "If I were to join the Rose Legion, what should I do next?"

Hearing this question, even the habitually solemn Gerard could not help but let out a smile.

"If you are willing, you can be a member of the Rose Legion starting now.

"I can vouch for your arrival.

"Furthermore, our organization's strongholds and certain benefits can be shared with you.

"I will also introduce you to other members so you can familiarize yourself with our organization and integrate fully.

"And..."

Gerard immediately spoke at length about the organization's prospects, representing the bright future of the Rose Legion... or at least, that was how he phrased it.

Olivia pretended to be very satisfied as she listened. She said with a smile, "In that case, I shall consider myself a member of the Rose Legion from now on. I am very happy to join such a like-minded organization."
