Chapter 209 | Survival for All: The Tower Witch with E-Rank Talent

The Tower: "By the way, change the logo too. Make it a tall tower with a vertical eye on the side, staring straight ahead."

Since she was the Witch of the High Tower, Lan Qingyou added the tower element.

Her desire to build a Magic Unit stemmed from seeing the benefits of elemental counters when dealing with the War Treants earlier.

With so many magic elements in this world, she couldn't always cover everything herself.

Having a Magic Unit could yield miraculous results at critical moments.

Chariot: "The eye represents the Magic Eye, right?"

The Tower: "Yes."

Chariot: "What's the ratio of the eye to the tower?"

The Tower: "The eye should take up two-thirds of the tower's body, or even the whole thing. Just use your best judgment."

Chariot: "Got it. Leave it to me. I'll have the blueprints and logo design ready for you tomorrow."

After saying that, Chariot handed over the blueprints for the purple knights and pink infantry, along with some logo stencils, to Lan Qingyou. He then excitedly rushed off to design the armor and weapons for the Magic Unit and the flight units.

The reason Chariot was so excited was entirely because he felt Lan Qingyou had finally accepted his aesthetic.

Previously, whenever Lan Qingyou asked him to customize something, she would always add, "No post-apocalyptic wasteland style."

To be honest, it was quite discouraging.

But now, she had actually approved the armor and weapons he designed!

She had even suggested designing two more types of units. How could he not be thrilled?

Was there anything more satisfying than someone who once disliked your aesthetic gradually coming to accept it under your subtle influence?

No! Absolutely not!

Thus, the next day.

Chariot, sporting dark circles under his eyes, finished the design drawings and the logo, packaged them, and sent them to Lan Qingyou.

The Black Mages, as the name suggested, had black armor.

The style of the armor wasn't much different from the previous knights and infantry, though it was slightly "slimmer."

Two long, thin spikes protruded from the back to secure a cloak.

The weapon used by the Black Mages was a long gun that resembled a bolt-action rifle.

Compared to the purple knights' Lance, these rifles weren't as flashy.

Aside from some magic runes for triggering and conversion, there was only a large energy crystal embedded in the stock.

This wasn't difficult for the High Priestess, who could craft energy crystals.

However, seeing the long gun used as a weapon, Lan Qingyou knew Chariot's old habits were flaring up again.

But she had to admit, a magic rifle was a viable weapon.

Maybe she could get one too?

A witch with a gun... that sounded... not bad at all?

Although it didn't quite fit the traditional image of a witch, that was precisely why it was good.

At a critical moment, pulling out a "big toy" from her robes and giving the enemy a blast would surely catch them off guard.

Lan Qingyou looked over the designs and was very satisfied. She didn't act like a difficult client who, possessing a tiny bit of power, would demand version after version of changes.

She simply said, "I'll make a set first and see. If the results aren't significant, we can discuss it further."

However, after impatiently crafting a set of Black Mage armor and testing it out, Lan Qingyou found that its power was quite substantial.

As for how the golems used magic, that involved the metaphysics of magic circles.

While crafting the Five Dragon Reincarnation Protection Magic Circle, Lan Qingyou had discovered that the mana conversion on the magic circles could transform surrounding mana into various magic elements.

This gave Lan Qingyou a great idea.

That was why she wanted to assemble a Magic Unit.

However, because the surface area of the golems was very limited, Lan Qingyou could only carve the conversion circles, triggering circles, and instructions on the inside of the armor.

In other words, the magic attacks of the Black Mage unit were actually performed by the armor, while the internal power was supplied by the golem.

After all, these humanoid golems all contained the Soul Crystals of Dark Demons.

Of course, Lan Qingyou wasn't just making humanoid golems.

The previous Copper-hammer and Blade-roller models had already been phased out.

They were replaced by the insect-shaped golems Chariot had suggested before.

Those things were useful.

After some research, Lan Qingyou chose to make spiders.

The main reason for choosing spiders was that six legs made for very stable movement on the ground.

Furthermore, a spider's abdomen was so large that it was practical whether it was modified into a combat compartment for weapons or a cockpit.

Even though she had switched to insect-shaped golems, Lan Qingyou didn't stop producing beast-shaped golems.

However, the role of beast-shaped golems had shifted from attack-oriented to more of a mount and support role.

They would still be equipped with fire-type floating cannons and other elements for Lan Qingyou's use.

For the next few days, Lan Qingyou spent most of her time crafting golems.

She had no choice; the demand was simply too high.

Not only did her own magic circles need personnel, but even the people in the villa, upon hearing that Lan Qingyou was making humanoid golems, all wanted to place orders.

Some even ordered ten units at a time, with no upper limit.

It went without saying who that "no upper limit" person was.

Of course, she would occasionally distribute some Witch potions—still five at a time, just for fun.

The Empress: "Do you guys feel like the temperature has been warming up lately?"

A few days later, just as the fifth mana turbulence was about to arrive, the Empress sent this message in the group.

Since she was into farming, she was much more sensitive to the temperature than others.

The High Priestess: "I don't feel anything."

The Star: "Get lost. You're wearing constant-temperature clothes, of course you wouldn't."

The High Priestess: "Haha, you're right."

Righteousness: "There are indeed signs of warming. The water level in the creek next to my orchard has risen a bit."

Justice: "I've received news on my end as well. Temperatures are indeed rising, but fortunately, it's not a sudden spike, so there's no need to worry about water levels surging rapidly."

Magician: "On that point, Justice, I think your judgment is wrong."

Justice: "?"

Magician: "It's been snowing for three months. Even if it doesn't look like there's much accumulation, if all that snow melts, the volume of water will be massive."

Warming up?

Lan Qingyou looked at the chat. Like the High Priestess, she was also wearing constant-temperature clothes, so she hadn't really thought about the temperature.

But...

The Tower: "A little over a month ago, while looking for that cave, I was teleported to the Abandoned Mountains at an altitude of several thousand meters. The snow there was very thick."
