“Ha, you? A professor? That's rich.”
Victoria snorted, clearly scoffing at Greg's self-proclaimed title of professor, but she pulled out a chair and sat down anyway.
Silvia also sat down obediently on the other side, placing her hands on her knees like a model student ready to listen attentively.
“Don't be so quick to dismiss me, young lady.”
Greg sat down next to Victoria first, picking up the draft she had prepared and quickly scanning through it.
As he read, he compared it in his mind to the standard answers that had been verified countless times by the player community, then began pointing out the issues with sharp precision:
“There's nothing wrong with your core argument, but the order of your logic is off. You jump straight from application to limitations, missing a crucial transition in the middle. You should first explain the optimal conditions for elemental resonance, and then analyze what problems arise when those conditions are absent. That way, your logical chain is complete.”
Victoria had started with a somewhat defiant expression, but as she listened, her face gradually grew serious.
By the end, she lowered her head and immediately began revising her draft exactly as Greg had suggested.
Victoria had never expected Greg to have such a deep understanding of this topic. Every single critique of his struck the weakest points of her argument with pinpoint accuracy.
She had originally hoped to surpass him in this secondary defense, but now it seemed... that would be incredibly difficult.
Sitting to the side, Silvia watched Greg guide Victoria with such effortless ease, a sense of peace washing over her.
As expected, nothing can stump Senior Greg.
After finishing with Victoria, Greg moved over to sit next to Silvia.
He took the draft Silvia handed him and looked down to read it.
Silvia's draft was much neater than Victoria's, and her logic was very clear, but there were still a few minor issues in how she handled certain details.
Greg pointed them out one by one. Silvia listened intently, nodding repeatedly.
“Here, you only briefly mention the backlash effect of elemental resonance, but this is a major scoring point. You should expand on it.”
Greg tapped a spot on the paper with his finger and turned his head to look at Silvia.
Silvia nodded, but she didn't immediately pick up her pen to make the correction.
She fell silent for a moment, then suddenly leaned in close, whispering into Greg's ear in a voice meant only for the two of them:
“Since I made a mistake, shouldn't the strict Professor Greg punish me?”
Greg froze.
Punish her?
Just as he was wondering what she meant, Silvia had already taken his right hand and guided it beneath the table.
Greg's pupils dilated. So that's what she meant by "punishment."
His brain went into overdrive. Reason told him to pull his hand back immediately, but his body remained stubbornly honest and didn't budge.
He turned his head slightly to look at Silvia. Her cheeks were already flushed with a faint blush, and her eyes darted away, not daring to meet his, but the hand holding his wrist didn't let go.
“...”
Greg swallowed hard, his fingers slowly curling.
Silvia's body tensed slightly, her breathing becoming shallow and rapid. However, she did her best to maintain a calm facade, her other hand still holding a pen as she pretended to write on her draft.
Her pen moved across the paper, but she only ended up drawing a few meaningless lines; she was completely unable to concentrate right now.
Greg's heart was also racing.
His eyes involuntarily drifted toward Victoria, who was sitting opposite them.
She was hunched over, focused entirely on revising her draft, her brow slightly furrowed as she mumbled to herself, completely oblivious to the activity happening under the table.
Greg let out a breath, but the thrill of potentially being caught at any moment made his fingertips even more sensitive, magnifying every tiny sensation several times over.
Silvia's cheeks grew redder, the blush spreading from the tips of her ears down to her neck, looking like clouds dyed by the sunset.
She bit her lower lip, struggling to keep from making any sound.
She could feel Greg's fingers moving gently. Every subtle touch sent a jolt of electricity rushing through her skin, causing her body to tremble involuntarily.
She kept her head down, pretending to look at her draft, but in reality, her vision had gone completely blurry.
Don't get caught... Don't get caught... she chanted in her mind. Yet at the same time, she felt a faint, secret anticipation of what would happen if they were.
Greg's fingers slowly began to vary their angle and pressure, like playing a silent melody. This caused Silvia's body to shudder violently, and she nearly let out a soft gasp.
She quickly covered her mouth, let out a fake cough, and shot a swift glance at Victoria.
Victoria happened to look up just then, staring at Silvia with a hint of confusion.
“What's wrong with you? Your face is so red.”
Silvia's heart leaped into her throat.
Trying her best to make her voice sound normal, she replied in a weak, breathless tone, “I-It's nothing... I probably just slept too late last night and feel a bit drowsy...”
“Don't stress yourself out so much. We still have two days before the secondary defense. Since you're tired, why don't you go take a quick rest right now?”
Victoria didn't press further. Suggesting that Silvia rest, she lowered her head again to continue working on her draft.
Silvia let out a long sigh of relief in her heart.
Seeing this, Greg knew he couldn't push it any further. Any more, and they would definitely be exposed.
Greg slowly withdrew his hand, stood up, and said in a casual tone:
“Since you're feeling a bit sleepy, I'll go brew a pot of strong tea to help refresh you.”
Victoria looked up, tilting her head slightly in confusion as she watched his retreating figure walk toward the table to boil water.
Since when did Greg become so considerate?
With his back turned to them, Greg let out a long, slow breath as the water began to heat.
The soft sensation and warm body temperature still lingered on his fingertips, making it hard for him to calm his racing thoughts.
Right then, Nightmare's voice echoed leisurely in his mind:
“I really don't understand why Serafina chose these girls as her Messengers. Did she pick them for the qualities she completely lacks herself?”
Greg was taken aback for a moment, but he quickly understood her meaning.
He replied silently in his mind, “You mean, besides being flat-chested, the Goddess of Light, Serafina, is also completely pure?”
Nightmare's tone carried a hint of amusement. “Precisely. She's like a blank sheet of paper. That's why I said it would be highly entertaining to hear her panting beneath you.”
Greg's lips twitched. “...”
He picked up the brewed tea and was about to turn back to the table when a loud, forceful knocking suddenly rattled the door. It was immediately followed by a strange yet vibrant female voice:
“Greg Sass! I know you're in there! Get out here and fight me!”
