The goblin lord stood frozen on the spot for a full three seconds before it finally reacted.
“Gao—!!!”
After it let out an earth-shaking roar, the dozens of green-skinned goblins inside the tribe who had still been at a loss suddenly went rigid for a moment. Then, they all began to move, shouting “Ga! Ga!”
Some scrambled for crude wooden clubs, some for stone spears, and others for bows and arrows. A few even climbed up the crude watchtowers and blew the horns atop them.
“Woo—!”
As the long, echoing blast of the horn spread through the forest, the dozens of green-skinned goblins that had not been poisoned gradually gathered in front of the goblin lord.
Meanwhile, Shulim, lurking in the shadows, kept her eyes fixed on the goblin lord.
“Did the medicine not work? Is this goblin lord already so strong that this kind of poison can't harm it...?”
“No, I can't leave it to chance. The opportunity is fleeting, and I already have a decent chance of winning now...”
The dozens of green-skinned goblins had not fully gathered yet. If she waited for them to set up their formation before acting, and the goblin lord truly was immune to the poison's effects, her chances of winning would plummet.
At this thought, Shulim's gaze sharpened. No longer hesitating, she gripped her Treant Wand with both hands and stepped forward toward the goblins. The various concealment spells active on her body dissolved as she began to chant new spells.
“【ᛋᚷᚺᛜᛈᚠᛞᛃᛡᚪᛚᛏᛗᚠᚺᛜᛖᛄᚠᚳᛜᛃᚾᚪ】”
“Reinforce!”
A faint white light flickered across her body.
“【ᛒᚠᛏᛋᛜᚻᚠᛏᛖᛡᛣᛏᚠᚳᛜᛖᛄᚠᚳᛜᛓᚠᛃᛖᛚᛜᛓᛃᚱᛗ】”
“Swiftness!”
Her forward speed instantly increased by quite a bit.
“【ᛃᛒᚺᛏבᛤᛜᛈᚠᛞᛃᛡᚪᛚᛏᛗᚠᚺᛜᛖᛄᚠᚳᛜᛓᚠᛃᛖᛚᛜᛖᚢᛋᛜᚪᚠᛖהᛤ】”
“Fortify!”
A much more prominent layer of white light clung directly to the surface of her body.
“【ᛗᛜᛈᚠᛞᛃᛡᚪᛚᛏᛗᚠᚺᛜᛋᚷᚠᚺ】”
“Battle Cry!”
A burst of red light bloomed, completely masking the glow of the white light...
...
“Ga—?!”
The goblin lord looked at the sparsely gathered green-skinned goblins before it, a hint of confusion in its eyes.
Then, it turned into utter rage.
Among the goblins still standing, there was not a single hobgoblin. Most importantly, those goblin mages had been completely nowhere to be seen this entire time!
This lord gave them treatment second only to its own, yet they actually deserted on the eve of battle?!
“Gao—!!!”
Furious, the goblin lord roared toward the sky, wishing it could immediately slaughter those goblin mages.
However, this could not be blamed on the goblin mages. Although goblin mages were high-tier goblins, they specialized in mana and intelligence, with rather poor physical constitutions that were even inferior to those of the lowest-grade green-skinned goblins.
Additionally, due to their high status, each goblin mage was allocated an individual room. No other goblin dared to barge in except for the lord. Consequently, when the poison took effect first and caused the goblin mages to pass out from the intense pain, not a single goblin noticed.
“【ᛓᚠᛟᚾᚲתᛖᛜᛖᚾᚠᚲᚢהᛤᛜᛚᚲᛜᛣᛃᛗᛡᛁ... ...】”
Just then, an unfamiliar voice rang out in the tribe, gradually drawing closer.
The goblins looked toward the sound and saw a petite human female constantly walking toward them with a wand, her mouth chanting incantations.
“Tidal Surge!”
Rumble!
A massive wave suddenly appeared out of thin air, surging toward a group of goblins running over with bows and arrows nearby, instantly scattering them in all directions.
This sudden turn of events left the goblins utterly dumbfounded.
“Gao—!!!”
But with a massive roar from the goblin lord, the green-skinned goblins finally realized that an enemy had rushed into their camp.
“Ga!”
“Galu!”
“Galu!”
“Ga...”
Large crowds of green-skinned goblins, shouting and screaming, raised their crude wooden clubs or stone spears and rushed at Shulim.
However, Shulim ignored them. Her goal was clear: to immediately eliminate the long-range archers who posed the greatest threat!
Relying on the various buffs she had applied beforehand, Shulim maintained her distance from the melee-weapon-wielding goblins. At the same time, she aimed her wand at the goblin archers who had been scattered by the massive wave, rapidly chanting her next incantation.
“【ᛖᚢᛋᛒבᛤᛜᛖᛓᛃᚺᚾᛜᛣᛈᛏᛡᛣᛃᚾᚠᛏᛁᛋᛚᚪᛜᛗᛜᛣᛃᛗᚢᛜᛖᚲהᛤᛜᛞᛈᛃᛡᛚᛖᛋ】”
“Lightning Strike!”
Rumble—!
A bolt of lightning fell from the heavens.
It instantly crashed down right in the center of the goblin archers.
“Ga—!”
“Ga!”
“Ga!!”
The terrifying electric current snaked out across the damp ground, instantly causing the goblin archers to scream in agony.
When the flash of lightning faded, only scorched, smoking corpses remained on the spot.
“Gao!!!”
The goblin lord was thoroughly enraged.
Thud!
Slamming its stone axe into the ground, it left a crater behind as it roared and charged toward Shulim.
Any green-skinned goblins blocking its path were either trampled to death or swept flying by its stone axe.
But for Shulim, now was not the time to deal with it.
“【ᛏᛈᛒᛜᛖᚾᚠᚲᚢהᛤᛜᛚᚲᛜᚢᚪᛖᛡᛞᚠᛟᛃᛜᛓᚠᛏᚱוᚠᛃᛖᛜᛓᚠᛒᛖᛚᛡᛚᚢᛡᛣᛃᛜᛖᚾהᛤ】”
Raging flames burst from the earth, forming a massive curtain of fire.
A few green-skinned goblins charging at the very front were swept up in it as well, their bodies engulfed in flames as they shrieked in pain.
The goblin lord braked hard, halting just a moment before slamming into the curtain of fire.
Its eyes were blood-shot, its rage having reached its peak.
“Gao—!!!”
With a tremendous roar, the fire curtain trembled violently under the sound.
Then, in an exaggerated movement, the goblin lord swung its stone axe behind its back, charging power for a second before sweeping the millstone-sized axe forward horizontally at extreme speed.
Whoosh—!
The gale kicked up by the stone axe instantly blew apart the curtain of fire in front of it.
However, when the goblin lord focused its gaze, there was no longer anyone behind the wall of flames.
“【ᚷᚲᛏᛓᛖᛚᛜᚻᚠᛏᛖᛡᛣᛏᚠᚳᛜᚾᛃᚲᛟᛖᛡᛓᛏᚠᚱᛜᚾᛟᚲᚠᛚᛜᛖᛗᛃᛞᛋ】”
“Wind Blade!”
The familiar voice rang out from its right. The goblin lord whipped its head around, only to find the intruder constantly unleashing magic to harvest the remaining goblin archers.
“【ᚣᚠᛟᚪᛚᛜᛣᛃᛗᛡᛁᚾᛗᛚᚪᛜᛣᛃᛗᛡᛃᚱיᚺᛜᛖᛋᚢהᛖᛜᛏᛖᛗ】”
“Water Arrow!”
After a transparent Water Arrow pierced through an archer on a watchtower that was aiming a bow at her, Shulim immediately spun her body, dodging a crude wooden club swinging at her from the side.
Then, she swept her Treant Wand horizontally, tripping the opponent to the ground.
She then grabbed a thrusting stone spear, pulled it forward to use the momentum, and kicked the stumbling goblin, forcing the stone spear to slip out of the green-skinned goblin's grip.
Whoosh—!
With a spin of the stone spear in her hand, the tip rotated into a forward grip.
Shulim then lined up the goblin in front of her and swiftly thrust the spear forward.
“Ga—”
The goblin collapsed to the ground, spitting blood.
Without hesitation, Shulim quickly pulled out the stone spear and spun around to impale the goblin she had tripped earlier.
“Ga!”
In the blink of an eye, the two goblins that had closed in on her were taken care of.
Swish—!
A stone arrow flew past her ear.
Shulim immediately shifted her position while rapidly locking onto the archer who had shot at her.
“【ᚷᚲᚠᛏᛗᛜᚢᚪᛖᛡᛞᚠᛟᛃᛜᛃᛏᚠᛞᚲᛜᚹᛚᛖᛗᛜᛖᛗᛃᛞᛋ】”
Boom!
A blazing Fireball collided with a watchtower. As the watchtower exploded, the two goblins on top of it also fell down, their bodies engulfed in flames.
“Gao—!”
Suddenly, a massive roar echoed from behind, followed closely by an extreme sense of danger approaching her back.
Shulim's pupils contracted. Having no time to think, she immediately cast a spell.
“【ᛓᚠᛏᚱוᚠᛃᛖᛜᛖᛗᛞᚪᛡᛖᛞᛃᚺיᛤᛜᛖᛚלᚠᛟᛜᛃᛋᛄᚠᚪᛜᛖᚾהᛤ】”
Rumble!
A stone wall rose from the ground.
Yet almost at the exact instant the stone wall appeared, a massive wooden log smashed through it, hurtling straight toward Shulim.
