Boom!
A massive cloud of dust rose within the tribe.
But the goblin lord did not stop there. It grabbed another wooden pillar from a recently demolished house nearby and hurled it in that direction.
Then a third, and a fourth...
Only when there was no suitable ammunition left nearby did it finally stop.
As for where Shulim had been standing, there had been no sound or movement ever since the first tree trunk was thrown.
Staring into the thick cloud of dust, the goblin lord sniffed the air, a cruel grin spreading across its face.
Just then, however, a fireball flew out from an entirely different direction without warning, scoring a direct hit on a goblin archer that had climbed onto a roof.
“Ga—!”
Screaming in agony, the goblin rolled off the roof, the flames on its body quickly igniting the thatch-and-twig roof.
In an instant, the entire building was engulfed in roaring flames.
But the assault was far from over.
One fireball after another shot out from different locations.
One by one, the goblin archers fell with agonizing shrieks as the fire rapidly spread throughout the entire settlement.
Many of the goblins, paralyzed by the intense pain in their stomachs, could only watch helplessly as the flames swept over them.
Witnessing this scene, the goblin lord's eyes grew so bloodshot they looked ready to drip blood.
“Gao—!!!”
Thud! Thud! Thud...
It charged recklessly toward the culprit, trampling over anything that stood in its way—be it groaning goblins on the ground or houses, whether burning or not.
All to eliminate that one enemy!
Yet Shulim had absolutely no intention of fighting it head-on. Relying on her various buffs, she kept her distance, weaving through the tribe while continuously harvesting any goblins she encountered.
Only when the last remaining goblin archer collapsed, engulfed in flames, did Shulim finally come to a halt...
Staring at the massive goblin lord before her, Shulim calmly pointed her wand at it.
“Now it is your turn.”
“...”
Now that Shulim had stopped, the goblin lord, surprisingly, did not immediately attack. Instead, it slowly looked around its tribe.
Its once-powerful tribe was now mostly in ruins. As for its mighty army, only two or three of the lowest-tier goblins holding crude wooden clubs remained in sight.
Snort—!
Foul-smelling white steam blasted from the goblin lord's nostrils, blending with the smoke drifting through the air.
And then—
both the goblin lord and Shulim moved at the exact same instant.
The massive stone axe slammed down right where Shulim had been standing, the impact carving a massive crater into the earth.
By then, Shulim had already leaped high into the air.
With the sunlight streaming down behind her, she unleashed magic upon the goblin lord from above.
“【ᛓᚠᛏᚱוᚠᛃᛖᛜᛁᛄᚾᛒᛜᚢᚪᛖᛡᛞᚠᛟᛃᛜᛣᚠᚱᛈᛜᛃᛏᚠᛞᚲᛜᚹᛚᛖᛗᛜᛉᚱᚠᛄᛓᛖᛚᛜᛖᛗᛃᛞᛋ】”
“Great Fireball!”
Boom—!
The goblin lord was blown backward by the blast, tumbling toward the ground.
Thud!
The moment before its back hit the dirt, it swung its axe violently against the ground behind it, forcefully arresting its fall.
“Ga—!”
With a wild roar, the goblin lord actually managed to blow out the flames burning on its face.
Despite the extensive burns covering its face, it seemed completely oblivious to the pain, raising its massive axe toward Shulim once more.
At the same time, the tip of Shulim's wand flared with a brilliant, concentrated magical light.
“Ga—?!”
Right then, the goblin lord's body suddenly shuddered, freezing mid-swing as it was about to launch its attack.
“?”
A flicker of confusion crossed Shulim's eyes.
Then, she watched as the goblin lord—which had just taken a Great Fireball directly to the face—clutched its stomach and slowly sank to the ground...
“...”
So it wasn't immune to the poison after all; the effects were just slow to kick in...
Shulim let her active magic dissolve. Looking at the goblin lord staring back at her with absolute hatred—and a face that looked terribly constipated—she couldn't help but feel a bit dazed.
Was that it?
“...Well, Semilis did say any method is acceptable, so this should count as a pass, right?”
“Whatever, I should get Semilis to come back first.”
With that, Shulim raised her wand once again, aiming it at the now-defenseless goblin lord.
Seeing the light gathering at the tip of the wand, panic finally set in for the goblin lord. It desperately forced down the excruciating pain in its stomach, its hands trembling as it raised its stone axe to strike at Shulim one last time.
“【ᛓᚠᛏᚱוᚠᛃᛖᛜᛁᛄᚾᛒᛜᚢᚪᛖᛡᛞᚠᛟᛃᛜᛣᚠᚱᛈᛜᛃᛏᚠᛞᚲᛜᚹᛚᛖᛗᛜᛉᚱᚠᛄᛓᛖᛚᛜᛖᛗᛃᛞᛋ】”
“Great Fireball!”
Boom!
Another direct hit from a Great Fireball blasted the goblin lord off its feet, sending it flying backward.
Bang!
The goblin lord crashed heavily to the ground, a new scorched mark added to its body, but that was all.
Compared to its colossal frame, an injury like this was practically a scratch.
Shulim found it a bit troublesome. While its armor offered some protection, the real issue was its massive pool of Life—it could actually take a C-Class spell head-on.
Without a doubt, it was indeed already C+-Class.
Fortunately, the poison had worked. Otherwise, the outcome of this battle might still have been uncertain...
The goblin lord struggled to climb back up to counterattack, but Shulim had no intention of giving it the chance.
“【ᛖᚢᛋᛒבᛤᛜᛖᛓᛃᚺᚾᛜᛣᛈᛏᛡᛣᛃᚾᚠᛏᛁᛋᛚᚪᛜᛗᛜᛣᛃᛗᚢᛜᛖᚲהᛤᛜᛞᛈᛃᛡᛚᛖᛋ】”
“Lightning Strike!”
Rumble!
A bolt of lightning fell from the sky, striking the goblin lord squarely.
“Ga—!”
The goblin lord let out an agonizing shriek, its body becoming even harder to move under the paralyzing effect of the lightning.
Clearly, internal attacks were far more effective against opponents with such thick hides.
“Gao—!!!”
Realizing it couldn't escape on its own, the goblin lord threw its head back and roared to the heavens.
“Galu!”
“Ga!”
“Ga...”
The handful of green-skinned goblins that remained had already lost their will to fight when they saw their lord get blasted away by the Great Fireball. Receiving the command to save their leader now, they hesitated, too terrified to step forward.
“Gao—!!!”
Boom!
A fireball exploded directly inside the goblin lord's mouth.
“You are far too loud. Please shut up.”
Clutching its mouth, the goblin lord let out muffled, painful whickers as blood steadily leaked from the corners of its lips.
But though it could no longer scream, the instinct to obey their superior still drove the green-skinned goblins to move after the lord's second, even more furious urging.
“Ga!”
“Galu!”
“Ga...”
Watching the green-skinned goblins rushing at her with raised weapons, Shulim muttered, “Troublesome,” and aimed her wand at them.
“【ᚣᚠᛟᚪᛚᛜᛖᚾᚠᚲᚢהᛤᛜᛖᛗᛞᚪᛡᛖᛞᛃᚺיᛤᛜᛖᛃᚱᚪיᛏᚠᛜᛓᚠᛃᛋᚾᛈᛡᛣᛃיᛞᛃᛡᛓᚠᛄᚲᛜᛋᚠᛟᛃᛏᛜᛣᚢ】”
“Grip of the Earth!”
As the spell took effect, the surrounding soil suddenly began to flow like liquid, rising into a giant hand that crashed down upon the goblins.
“Ga?!”
“Galu!!”
Seven or eight green-skinned goblins only had time to scream before they were swallowed by the earth.
The few goblins trailing behind that managed to escape this fate lost whatever courage they had just conjured. They hesitated to advance, and the slightly smarter ones already began to turn and flee.
“One after another. How annoying. I might as well clean you guys up first.”
The goblin lord currently had extreme difficulty moving, making it less of a threat than these low-grade goblins harassing her. This was especially true if any of them picked up a bow and tried to shoot her from the shadows.
“【ᚷᚲᛏᛓᛖᛚᛜᚻᚠᛏᛖᛡᛣᛏᚠᚳᛜᚾᛃᚲᛟᛖᛡᛓᛏᚠᚱᛜᚾᛟᚲᚠᛚᛜᛖᛗᛃᛞᛋ】”
“Wind Blade!”
“【ᛒᛚᚢלᛤᛜᛖᛗᛞᚪᛡᛖᛞᛃᚺיᛤᛜᛈᛚᛟᛡᛃᚾᛒᚪᛜᚣᚠᛋᛓᛚᛜᛖᛗᛃᛞᛋ】”
“Rock Bullet!”
“【ᚣᚠᛟᚪᛚᛜᛣᛃᛗᛡᛁᚾᛗᛚᚪᛜᛣᛃᛗᛡᛃᚱיᚺᛜᛖᛋᚢהᛖᛜᛏᛖᛗ】”
“Water Arrow...”
Shulim began hunting down the green-skinned goblins, with those still hesitating in place being targeted first.
With this, the goblins no longer had to decide whether to run or fight; they scrambled in every direction like a swarmed nest.
Before long, the number of low-grade green-skinned goblins plummeted until not a single one could be seen moving in the open.
Yet Shulim knew she hadn't taken care of all the green-skinned goblins; some were still hiding.
“Maybe I should just burn the entire tribe to the ground?”
