Chapter 27 | They Called Me the Dumbest Dragon, So I Paused Time and Built an Empire

The crimson slit pupils narrowed.

"Eternal Fire."

Furiel directly added something to her dragon breath. A fire that would never go out began to burn atop the breath, instantly suppressing the frost breath.

The thick columnar dragon breath was visibly pushed back. Just as Furiel was feeling smug, changes began to surface on Jonavili's body.

[Solid Elementalization]. In an instant, Jonavili's form shifted toward ice crystals. Within mere seconds, her entire body had become composed of ice crystals, looking as if she were a dragon made of ice.

This action boosted the power of Jonavili's ice element attacks by a significant margin. In the blink of an eye, the disadvantage and advantage swapped sides.

Watching the pillar of frost breath draw closer, the crimson draconic eyes narrowed into a thin line.

"Infernal Dragon Armor!"

As Furiel cast a defensive draconic spell, a massive crimson magic circle passed through her entire body.

Raging flames surged around her, as hot and dazzling as a volcanic eruption.

In an instant, these flames tightly wrapped around her body, transforming into armor woven from lava and fire.

Just as the dragon armor formed, the terrifying columnar dragon breath broke through the defenses and slammed into Furiel's body. Terrifying ice-blue ripples spread out, and the crimson dragon body became covered in frost.

Heat waves rose from the Infernal Dragon Armor, eliminating the frost on her body and counteracting Jonavili's columnar dragon breath.

The silver-white dragon's maw curled slightly as she shouted.

"Ice Spirit Blast!"

Furiel's draconic eyes narrowed into a thin line as she realized something, but before she could react, the ice crystals that hadn't yet been cleared from her body emitted a burst of white light and exploded on the spot.

Boom! Boom boom—!

Furiel was completely enveloped by the massive white light of the explosion, creating a mist of ice that filled the sky.

Whoosh—

Jonavili felt that she had about six-tenths of her mana remaining. Looking at the ice mist exploding not far away, she couldn't help but let her maw pull back into a grin.

"Ah-le-le~ Furiel, oh Furiel, it seems you..."

Suddenly, Jonavili's breath hitched and her expression froze. A massive sense of dread came from behind her as a red dragon claw grabbed her head.

"Now, it's my turn!"

With immense strength, Furiel grabbed Jonavili's head and slammed her toward the Dragon Roar Mountains. The silver-white dragon struggled violently.

"Hehe hehe hehe hehe! Experience what it feels like to kiss the rocks, you white moron!"

The crimson dragon's head showed a state of extreme, tyrannical excitement. She was about to win this battle in a dominant fashion. Although her scales and dragon armor were shattered, it only made her look more ferocious.

In contrast, Jonavili couldn't understand how Furiel had suddenly teleported behind her.

But one thing she was certain of was that if she truly slammed into the mountain like this, while she wouldn't be too seriously injured, she would definitely be dazed. Winning the battle after that would be a pipe dream.

Just as the dragon's head was 0.01 centimeters away from the rocks, Jonavili activated her ability.

[Chrono Lock]!

At that moment, with Jonavili as the center, a massive ice-blue clock face expanded. Everything within a ten-meter radius was hit with a pause button.

Having used [Chrono Lock], Jonavili broke free from Furiel's grip. She didn't dare delay, as her mana was currently being consumed at an extremely terrifying rate.

Jonavili quickly moved behind Furiel. By this point, only three-tenths of her mana remained.

A little over a second of time stop had consumed three-tenths of her total mana. One had to realize that a dragon's total mana pool was already enormous, and with Jonavili having awakened the [Magic Tide] talent, her mana reserves had reached a staggering level.

This also illustrated just how massive the mana consumption for time-related abilities was.

Immediately, Jonavili released [Chrono Lock]. Furiel slammed her claw into the rocks with a cruel grin. The terrifying force shattered the massive boulder, blowing it into fragments.

But Furiel was stunned. Wait, where was the dragon?

The next second, a terrifying columnar dragon breath shot out, striking Furiel's back.

'Damn it! When did this happen? This speed... a speed-type talent? No, that's not right! She appeared behind me instantly! Could it be space? Even more impossible! If it were that, I would definitely have sensed it. What on earth is...'

Waves of shock surged through Furiel's heart. She completely couldn't understand how Jonavili had suddenly teleported behind her.

But now, the outcome was decided.

The powerful frost dragon breath directly stripped Furiel of her ability to resist. After enduring it for over ten seconds, she fell from the Dragon Roar Mountains with a heart full of resentment.

Thud!

The massive, mountain-like dragon body crashed to the ground, followed by the sound of leather wings beating the air.

Jonavili landed on top of Furiel, pinning her chest down with a claw and looking down at her from above.

Then, her maw curled slightly, and she raised her white dragon head, letting out a victor's song.

"Roar!!—"

The draconic roar was soul-stirring, its final note long and lingering.

Jonavili's subordinates erupted in cheers.

Jonavili looked down at the furious Furiel and smirked.

The white dragon's head slowly approached. Furiel instinctively tried to turn away, but she was held in place by the white dragon claw. Jonavili flashed a wicked smile.

"How does it feel to be pinned down? My dear Furiel.

To be honest, I've wanted to do this to you for a long time. Hehe hehe hehe..."

Sparks flew from the crimson draconic eyes as Furiel shouted.

"Jonavili! Don't get ahead of yourself! The next victory will definitely belong to the great Furiel."

"Yes, yes, that's the look. Hehe hehe hehe..."

Seeing Furiel's resentful expression, Jonavili became increasingly excited, her playful side taking over.

Driven by some strange impulse, she slightly opened her maw and let her pink dragon tongue flick out, giving Furiel's dragon face a lick.

Emmm... tasted like sulfur.

Jonavili: Σ(;°Д°)

Furiel: Σ(O_O；)

Both dragons froze. Once she snapped out of it, Furiel let out an endless roar and began to struggle violently.

"Damn it! I'll kill you!!"

Jonavili gave a sheepish smile. That damn subconscious action of hers.

"Calm down, Furiel. You're acting like a kitten whose tail was stepped on. Besides, there are so many monsters watching."

Jonavili lifted her head. Furiel followed her gaze and saw that the monsters of the Sleeping Forest were all watching the battle. Even the black wyrmling Gris was among them, looking like he was enjoying the show.
