Chapter 207 | Overtime Necromancy: My Legion Never Sleeps

Inside Alifa's Traveling Palace, the two walked side by side.

Chen Xu constantly turned his head from side to side, examining the decorations within the palace.

It had to be said that Heaven certainly had a certain flair when it came to art and propaganda.

The walls of the Traveling Palace were entirely golden, as was the floor. Furthermore, they were cast as a single piece, without any visible seams.

The walls were covered with magnificent and dazzling murals. These murals depicted famous events of the Heaven faction, such as the birth of Heaven, the first angels, and the God-blessed people, as well as portraits of the Lord of Heaven, the ten Archangels, and the ten Angel Priests.

Every ten meters stood a tall flowerpot filled with high-concentration holy water. Planted within these pots was a species known as Sun Blossoms.

The Sun Blossoms were once the vassals of an ancient Sun God, a lineage with a long history and great power within the Myriad Worlds. The Heaven faction had earned its title as the number one power in the Myriad Worlds precisely by conquering the lineage of the ancient Sun God.

The former vassals of the ancient god had been modified by the Lord of Heaven to become a signature species of the Heaven faction. In a high-concentration light-attribute environment, the Sun Blossoms emitted a unique, faint fragrance that could refresh the mind and clear the heart.

In addition to these decorations, the palace was filled with six-winged angels. These angels wore loose-fitting Daoist robes that accentuated their graceful forms.

It was common knowledge that angels were genderless beings. However, looking at it from another perspective, angels were beings who could freely choose their gender.

Among the trillions of believers in Heaven, the human race was the most numerous. To satisfy the faith of these believers, angels usually differentiated their forms to include human female and male characteristics.

In this Traveling Palace, the female-form angels stood on one side, while the male-form ones stood on the other.

However, what shocked Chen Xu the most was the rank of these 'servant' angels. Although describing angels as servants was somewhat inappropriate, the tasks these four-winged angels performed in the palace were indeed the duties of a servant.

The wings of light on an angel's back represented their strength. Twelve wings indicated the eternal-tier, such as Alifa.

Ten wings were mythic-tier, eight wings were legendary-tier, and six wings were epic-tier. As for four wings, newly born angels possessed four wings, granting them Transcendent-tier strength from birth.

The epic-tier was considered a pillar of society in any nation on Blue Star, and even in the more powerful worlds within the Myriad Worlds, they were considered a core fighting force.

Yet, in this Traveling Palace, they could only serve as servants.

Chen Xu observed as he walked. Since he was in Alifa's territory, he didn't feel it was right to use his mental strength to scan the area, so he relied on his eyes.

He quite liked the design of this palace. He could use it as a reference for a major renovation of his Overlord's Castle to enhance its prestige later.

At this moment, Chen Xu felt like a guest visiting a colleague's newly renovated house, wanting to copy any good features he saw.

"Mr. Chen Xu, please sit."

The two arrived at a long circular table. Alifa sat at one end and gestured for Chen Xu to sit at the other.

As Chen Xu walked over, two angels immediately stepped forward to pull out the tall chair for him.

Once Chen Xu was seated, another angel presented a golden chalice filled with a milky-white liquid that emitted a faint aura of Saint Light.

He reached out with his right hand, lifted the chalice, and took a sip.

Simultaneously, Alifa provided an explanation.

"This is a fine wine brewed from the water of the Holy Spring of the Source, the fountainhead of Heaven. It is called the Praise of Light."

"The Holy Spring of the Source?"

Chen Xu suddenly froze. Wasn't the Holy Spring of the Source the legendary place where angels were born? What was this, then—amniotic fluid wine?

Although the Praise of Light tasted decent, Chen Xu suddenly lost interest. He set down the chalice and proactively initiated the conversation.

"Mr. Alifa, I wonder if you have noticed that Hell has been a bit too active lately?"

Upon hearing this, Alifa fell silent for a moment, recalling Hell's actions over the past ten thousand years. It was indeed as Chen Xu said, so he nodded.

"Indeed. Over these ten thousand years, Hell's invasions of other worlds have become more frequent. The Mother of Hell has even extended her tentacles into Heaven's domains of faith."

"Mr. Chen Xu, do you seem to know the inside story behind this?"

Facing Alifa's inquiry, Chen Xu shook his head.

"I do not know the thoughts of the Mother of Hell. I only know that even the Land of the Undead has been infiltrated by the power of Hell. Flesh and corruption—these unique powers have given rise to some specialized undead."

"The Archdukes have unanimously concluded that this is Hell declaring war on the undead."

"Mr. Chen Xu, are you certain?"

Alifa stood up directly from his chair, his tone showing a ripple of emotion for the first time.

The impact of Chen Xu's words was no less than hearing that a Heavenly expeditionary force on the Starry Sky Battlefield had been annihilated by Hell—it was perhaps even worse.

If Hell could actually spare the strength to infiltrate the Land of the Undead while simultaneously waging war against Heaven, then what about the remaining three special worlds? Had the Sea of Spirit, the Elemental Spirit Realm, and even the Blank Zone also been invaded by the power of Hell?

Heaven and Hell had been at war for ages, their strengths roughly equal, with victories and defeats exchanged back and forth on the battlefield. But if all of this was a deliberate ruse by the Mother of Hell to mask a deeper conspiracy, it was terrifying.

It would mean that as long as the Mother of Hell was willing to pay a price, she could take down Heaven—or perhaps she wouldn't even need to pay a price and could do so with ease. Alifa didn't know, but the news Chen Xu brought had truly shocked him.

"Of course, Mr. Alifa. I have no reason to deceive you. Heaven and Hell are already mortal enemies; what need would I have to add fuel to the fire?"

Fearing Alifa might still be skeptical, Chen Xu snapped his fingers. The strange heart stripped from Old Cyclops was teleported out from the Undead Divine Court.

Chen Xu used his mental strength to grab the heart and tossed it toward Alifa.

The heart traced an arc through the air before a strand of Saint Light energy extended from the wings on Alifa's back to bind it.

"The aura of Hell, and... a ghoul? I can hear its unwilling wails. It is indeed the power of Hell."

Now, Alifa completely believed the news brought by this Necrotic Archduke.

Alifa slowly sat back down, lost in thought.

Chen Xu was in no hurry, silently watching the Angel Priest before him.

Hell had always been the strongest of the six special worlds. In ancient times, it could fight multiple Dao Lords at once without being disadvantaged.

Even though Chen Xu was confident he could take the Supreme Throne of the Lord of the Undead and ascend to the unique-tier, becoming a powerhouse at the Dao Lord level...

That didn't stop him from wanting to cooperate with Heaven to confront Hell together.

Befriending the distant while attacking the near—this was an eternal truth.

Although Heaven's Saint Light was not very compatible with the undead, the Saint Light had not shone upon the Land of the Undead, whereas Hell had truly stuck its hand in.

Chen Xu was extremely wary of this Mother of Hell, who reached into other people's pockets without the owner's consent.

Generally speaking, such a person was either a lunatic, someone strong enough to despise everyone, or perhaps a lunatic who could despise everyone.

Regardless of which it was, Chen Xu did not want to face her alone.

Heaven was the first partner he had chosen. If given the chance, he also wanted to unite the remaining three special worlds to form a grand allied army against Hell.

After a long while, Alifa finally broke the silence and stood up once more.

"Mr. Chen Xu, I, Alifa, Angel Priest, sincerely thank you for this important news. You shall forever have the friendship of Alifa. May the Saint Light shine upon you, Mr. Chen Xu."

Alifa held his secret tome in his right hand, and the pages flipped rapidly. A contract page composed of flowing Saint Light detached itself—it was a unique type of Heaven contract, a Covenant of Saint Light.

The Covenant of Saint Light represented the recognition of Heaven; it meant one was a friend of Heaven in every sense of the word.

Holding a Covenant of Saint Light, one could even enter Heaven, even if they were not a believer in the Lord of Heaven.

Chen Xu raised his hand to catch the Covenant of Saint Light. When his palm touched the contract, a sizzling sound erupted once more. Necrotic aura and Saint Light remained as incompatible as fire and water, so he had to wrap the Covenant of Saint Light in mental strength first.

"Mr. Alifa, I am very grateful for your recognition. However, I would rather sign another contract with you—or rather, with Heaven."

"Mr. Chen Xu, you are now a friend of Heaven. If you require Heaven's assistance, I can make the decision to provide you with support without the need for a contract."
